CHAPTER 5
Chapter 5: Who are you
As a human being, you are obligated to make a choice in every decision. You are created to make a choice. That was one of the reasons why humankind was created. Whether you make the right or wrong choice, still you must choose.
Sometimes, you would always pray that the choices you made are always right; who in the right mind wouldn't? Every right choice you make will lead to a failure in the future, and every wrong choice is a success in the future.
That was a law of the world.
Maybe it was the right choice for you when you had let yourself be dragged by someone that night to Seokjin and you encountered Jungkook for the last time but was it a mistake when you are unwilling to leave Seokjin?
If you hadn't left, will you live the life you had envisioned with Seokjin, it was no doubt your feelings for the latter were getting stronger. You don't even know whether it was love or perhaps guilt. Whatever it is, you didn't like it.
Was it a mistake to ignore Hoseok's warning when he told you Taehyung was bluffing? Was it wrong to secretly believe that there's a possible timeline where you and Seokjin were able to be together?
Curiosity is a bitch. It ate you alive because you began to question why you were there again after losing sight. If your name was Anne, why don't you remember? Was it foolish when you had let Taehyung tie Hoseok down in the basement because you were going to flee tonight, or was it the right choice to believe Hoseok that Taehyung might be bluffing?
Those questions linger in your mind; they drove you insane, and you need answers.
What other place is better at finding the truth than the root of the problem, the house?
"I'm glad you choose this way. I promise you we'll get your sight back," Taehyung helps you get into a car to the airport.
"You promise a lot of things and then break them apart. How about you don't promise," you said.
Probably fleeing Hoseok was not the best idea, but getting your sight back was too good to be true.
"We make them so people will hope, right?" Taehyung mutters, "It makes you human keep kicking in life. I don't see a problem in giving people hope."
You look at Taehyung's blurry figure, who is sitting beside you. He searched through his files, trying to find your passport he stole from Hoseok's room.
"How did you manage to get my passport? I never told you anything," you told him, andTaehyung hums.
"I don't have to try hard to find where Hoseok would hide your passport. I can't believe you trust him enough with your passport," Taehyung said, "He had even locked in a safe. What did he even tell you when he took your passport?"
"He had to have it for me to pass Indonesia, so he took them," As you finish telling him, he can't help to chuckle at Hoseok's effort to keep you beside him.
"Why do you hate your brother so much," you ask him suddenly, "You promise me, we get out of the house, you tell me everything."
He couldn't help to sigh, "He was my brother, I appreciate him in every aspect of life, and I couldn't be more thankful for what his family had done for me, but I had reasons, every meaningful reason why I needed to get out."
"Hoseok was a protective brother. His sister died before I met her, so I was put into an orphanage, and they picked me up. Everything was going great, that is until Hoseok developed monophobia. Since then, his personality has changed."
"He was more aggressive when I came home late from school, always questioning why I didn't want to spend time with him. He'll try to sweet talk his way for me to stay put, to the extent he would take me back from school."
"So, of course, with a will, I ran away, and there I found Namjoon, who had to help me, that is, until I found my purpose."
You look at him, "and that is?"
"I finally had the lead to who killed my grandparents," you hear him chuckle sadly, "I had asked Namjoon for help, but I never liked Namjoon to begin with."
"Why?" you asked him interestingly.
"Just because..." he sighed.
"And Jungkook? Did you know he was..." you asked him, and Taehyung sighed as he was about to answer?
"No... I knew the place. The whole house was full of lies, but I had thought the worst possible was Namjoon being part of a mafia or he was someone in a run. Who knew he was breeding a full-on psychopath."
"Then why did you run away, Taehyung? How could you leave me like that?" You took his hands, "Did you not know how many hours I cried for you – I – "
Your hands were trembling, and Taehyung held them tightly.
"That is something not even I know," Taehyung said, "I swear to you I didn't lie on this; I was only told to lay low; Namjoon had even told me that I need to act crazy as your husband, everything I did was because I needed the information and Namjoon is the key to my goal."
"Is he... my..." your body felt cold. It was a statement you didn't want a confirmation on. Ever since that night of your last meeting, all of it doesn't make sense.
"There's a lot of unclear things... I don't know the rest of the stories, but clear papers were indeed present by the marriage law. You are legally Jeon Jungkook's wife."
"I sign the marriage papers?" you asked in disbelief. What is this? Why is everything so blurry? In despair, your hands started to shake. How could a monster like you as a wife?
And, of course, how could you carelessly throw your life to 'marry' such a monster? You sign your life to the devil that way.
How could a monster like him have the heart to marry you?
A/N: Heyyy, sorry for the super late update, I don't think I'll be able to update as much as I did back in book one, I usually take 4 days but I guess we could settle on one per week if I'm not that busy.
Again I'm sorry, I hope you're having a great day tho!
