CHAPTER 28
Chapter 29: Thank you's pt. 1
The heavy rain envelops the whole place as you crouch down, placing a single daffodil.
Jung Hoseok
18 February 19xx – 26 October 20xx
A friend, Brother, Hope
The rain was pouring harder, and Yoongi stood beside you quietly with Seokjin, who was sitting down silently behind.
"If only he had more time to be understood, he wouldn't pick death as an answer," Yoongi whispered. He took a while before he grabbed your shoulders lightly.
"We need to go back," Yoongi ushers you to walk, but you refuse to leave the single grave made to remember the man who sacrificed his life, "Please think about Seokjin, his not willing to go back."
You had to nod before walking to Seokjin, who was waiting for you. Seokjin didn't trust Yoongi even a bit. So, he had to force himself to stay in the rain quietly while you made a little grave for Hoseok since we never found the body.
The sound of rain could be heard, resonating throughout the room. You sat in the warm chair, cosying with Seokjin, who had held you for almost two hours. Not letting you go even for a moment.
Taehyung had gone to take a nap, thankfully, his wounds were getting better, but doctors ordered him to try not to move too much. His face was starting to look pale. A doctor had come just now and had helped Taehyung stitch his wounds. Yoongi had forced a random doctor to come here, but it worked.
"You sure you don't want to get treated or anything like that?" You asked Seokjin, who was cuddling you quietly. He shakes his head lightly.
"I just need some time to regain strength," he murmurs slightly, hugging you tighter, "I can't feel anything hurting anyway."
"Seokjin, just because you can't feel anything doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with you." Seokjin chuckles at you. Brushing your baby hairs away, he hugged you tighter.
"I'm willing to bet Everything I own to make you happy. That means if I have to give my life up," He started, "besides, it hurts more if you're not okay."
"Seokjin..." Your eyes travel to his pearly eyes. "I want all of you alive, alright? I'm not going to pull another Hoseok card again."
"I know, but you don't have to worry. Jungkook didn't hurt me," Seokjin, brush your hair slightly, "I know I sound stupid right now, but every time he did something, I could see the regret in his eyes. The silent sorry in his eyes."
"Seokjin," you looked at him, eyes sharper than knives, "He hurt you regardless of his intention. His hands had hurt you."
Seokjin was quiet. No words came peeping out of his mouth. He couldn't convince you enough that you didn't want to believe Jungkook was purely evil. How could he accept such things? But you were persistent in believing that he was the bad guy.
"Then can we talk about us?" Seokjin asked quietly, "Everything happened so quickly. Can we even call it more than something?"
"we've kissed?" you told him quietly, "and I care about you. I wouldn't even consider going after you if I didn't."
"I care about you too," He whispered, "I promise you, I will make you mine after all of this is finished."
You looked at him, and your eyebrows squinted in confusion, "Then what are we right now?"
"Anne, right now." He stops before he looks at you and smiles, wrapping his arms into your waist, "it's not like I want this to be any longer, but right now, no string attach is much better."
You were quiet, "Alright."
Seokjin nods his head before he closes his eyes. Quietly resting his mind, and by minutes he was out cold.
On the other hand, you stood up from your place and walked to Taehyung, who was silently listening to your conversation with Seokjin. He has been awake for a while, just enough to hear what you and Seokjin say.
You were all piled into a hotel room Yoongi managed to find. After dragging a doctor to the room to examine Taehyung, Yoongi disappeared. He specifically told you to stay, and you did.
Brushing Taehyung's bangs away from his face, you sigh softly.
"You should stop pretending to sleep, Tae," tapping his cheeks lightly before standing up, "You should know better than to snoop around our conversation."
Taehyung couldn't help to smile before his eyes fluttered open. He snuggled into the bed, hiding his face.
"I didn't snoop. You chose to talk about it in front of me," he told you, "Don't worry, I won't say anything to anyone."
"You better not." You grumble before putting on a thick jacket layer, and slipping on the slippers Yoongi had left behind. Seeing yourself rustling, Taehyung raised his eyebrows at you before you signalled to him that you were going outside.
Walking out the door, your legs wandered over the long halls before halting your steps. It feels like deja vu. The long corridors now become a signature place where fear lurks. No good things can happen within the walls. You were debating on trying to find Yoongi, to where the guy had gone but decided to return back.
As you try to open the door, you are met with a brick chest to see Taehyung had stood in front of you. Your eyes widen before you hit his arms slowly.
"you idiot, go back and rest. Your wounds would re-opened." You try to push him inside, but instead, he steps outside before closing the door behind him.
"You need to take a breath," he told you, pulling your arms slightly.
"Come on, and I'll walk with you."
"You don't need to –"
"Sometimes, if you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen," he told you. He begins to walk you closely before putting on a single strip of cloth to your eyes, tying it gently before ushering you to walk.
"I notice you seem to settle more when you can't see. It seems to enhance your other senses. You know it's going to be dangerous if you can't see. That's why your mind is more aware and calmer to anticipate. But if you can see, you are frightened because you are using your sense to sense Everything. You can't focus."
Your body seems to relax more as Taehyung is leading you. "I'm not scared," you told him. He chuckles before patting your shoulders, "I know. But it became a habit to be frightened over something you're not afraid of."
"Besides, I knew you were not pleased with Seokjin's answer," Taehyung explained, "It was not the answer you were looking for because you know it didn't feel like it's right."
The heavy rain resonates throughout the ground. Taehyung stayed by your side as you chose to sit down on the balcony. It was small and private enough for two bodies fitting inside the chairs. You both sat in silence before you let out a single breath.
"What do you think I should do?" you whisper, "I'm tired. I want to save everyone, but everything is slipping from my fingers. I wasn't supposed to be the story's main character."
Taehyung chuckles, "Of course you don't. You're not supposed to be the main character in someone else's story."
"Thanks, Taehyung. Thank you for making me feel like shit," you sarcastically told him.
Taehyung nudges your shoulders, "Did it hurt your ego?"
"No, but it did not motivate me to – "gritting your teeth annoyed –"if you are trying to help me, I think you can stop giving me any more advice."
Taehyung smiles, "then I guess you don't understand what I just said."
"You need to stop saying things so mysteriously. It's better if you put it in words I can understand." You spoke.
"You are not the main character because you live in another person's shoes. Try looking at yourself first. Maybe then you could help everyone."
"Kim Taehyung, where have you been all this time?" you asked him, "he's not the same man who died that day. Dear, I even cry for your sorry ass."
Taehyung burst out laughing, "You did cry hard that day, I was ready even to stop the act, but I had to die that day. But you don't need to worry. The 'Kim Taehyung' you had known did not die a vain death."
"What's that supposed to mean?" you asked. "Never mind that. What are we going to do about this situation? I want to help everyone, but death lingers everywhere I go."
Taehyung then raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Who are you, to try and save everyone? You are born physically and mentally as a human; you are in no position to save everyone. There will be a sacrifice in everything you are trying to do."
"Then what am I supposed to do?" You told him, "I need to fix everything. This is my job, and I must go straight to the problem."
"Again, who are you trying and save everyone? Stop trying to fix everything you know you can't fix. Find the things you can fix first, start from the basics, then understand the root of the problem."
"You sure you didn't hit a stone on your way?" you asked, "I can't see you like this – "
"and how do you look at me exactly?" He asked questioningly, "How do you think I act?"
"Like you are not mentally ready to let go, you were never ready to let go, but shit happens, and you changed." You answer him almost immediately.
He nods his head, "I'll keep that in mind."
A/N: Hello! Thank you so much for waiting on the next update. Just a little update on my real life, I'll be going on my 5th semester, my seniors told me it wouldn't be too hard and they told me to enjoy it lol. My country is asking all schools and universities to take offline classes, so can't update between classes like usual. I guess I can use writing as a place to vent the stress. Currently writing Jimin's arc, little spoiler there will be 5 parts to this so, it is long but it's worth it.
How are you all doing? I hope you have a splendid day, I hope you have fun today and don't forget to smile!
