CHAPTER 27

Chapter 27: Lonely Boys Pt. 3

"You bastard!" Jungkook was giddy and started to run away from Yoongi, who was ready to tackle in. Heavy footsteps decorated the halls, and the sudden sound of shouts and curses awakened every twist and turn of the house.

"I haven't had this fun in a while!" Jungkook screams in delight.

"Yeah, well, you better remember it for the last time before I finish you," Yoongi grumbles. That is until Yoongi stops at a dead turn. His body collides with the walls he begins to slump. He took a moment to take a deep breath before collecting himself.

He was getting nowhere and on a wild goose chase with a man-baby in a haunted house. Yoongi had never thought he would be in this kind of situation. That is until he had cleared his mind in peace before looking at the halls' intersection.

He takes a huge breath before closing his eyes, believing his two feet to walk the familiar yet unfamiliar halls. No matter what happened, his shoes would lead him to the place he had hoped for.

And, of course, he was not wrong. Leading him to a narrower hall with a single door. This is the place. He opened the door and was greeted with a large video screen. A very familiar person was on the screen the projector had projected. The site looks run down but was set perfectly as if it was waiting for someone to see.

"That's not possible. Please stop." Yoongi crouched down into a tiny ball, losing balance to his weight. He slumps down as the taunting voice of his nightmares is back. The voice he had desperately pleaded to let go of was taunting him again.

He wanted to hold on so bad, to not forget about her. But he wanted her to disappear too, leaving him to nothing.

Instantly he dropped to the ground and began to hyperventilate. He hasn't had any panic attacks since forever. It started when he was bullied, but after she stayed by his side. Knowing all his secrets, it begins to subside.

"It's me."

But hearing her voice, it had triggered something inside him. He didn't like how it felt. Something that had long been forgotten couldn't be forever gone.

"Yoongi..." The raging voice could be heard, "Please do what he had said... please...."

"Yoonji?" Yoongi's eyes begin to water. He hated how he had become so weak. The anger inside him was consuming every part of him. He wanted revenge, something he had longed for.

"See hyung? Even Yoonji Noona wanted this! How about you... stay behind, and I'll help you!" Jungkook offer his way to Yoongi.

-

You could hear loud crashing; your heads turned to the source of the commotion. Taehyung had guided you and Seokjin into a yet again control panel room. Peeking through the windows, you were about to scream before Seokjin had to cover your mouth.

You were looking at the scene below, hitting the glass cage franticly. Jungkook was loaded with a gun in his right hand, ready to shoot Yoongi if he tried anything not the way he wanted.

"Yoongi!" Banging on the bulletproof glass, "Yoongi!"

"It's not going to work... you know that...." Taehyung's exhausting body slumped. His wounds were not getting better, and he felt he could pass out at any moment.

"The guy too far deep in his mind. What can we do now?"

-

Yoongi's eyes were latched into the large screen playing a familiar face, her face unrecognizable because of the beatings, she received. Her eyes had been swollen because of the tears that had run down her pearly marbles. Her hair was dishevelled. She was even deemed not worthy of being human anymore.

"Yoonji..." Yoongi was saddened by the news that the girl in front of him was not okay. She couldn't rest properly on her death bed, buried somewhere in an unmarked grave. That is if she had been buried.

"You killed her, even after she begged you to stop," Yoongi's eyes accused the shadows. His cat-eye wanders over the room. The room was quiet. The projector still played overly screams of the woman Yoongi had so desperately trying to find.

He couldn't help to clench his hands. They were cruel. How could they kill the only person he had loved as a sister besides himself? The only girl who showed him in this cruel world that he deserves every bit of love.

Every bit of love she had poured into this world had backfired in her face, and now she had to pay the price of being the good guy.

"What did she ever do to you?" Yoongi asked, "How could someone so cruel do such things? She had done nothing."

Over the distance of the room echoed a peal of sinister laughter, "Cruel? What I did to her was the least cruelty I could think of. You should see them! The very person was living in this house! They were the monsters you should be afraid of."

They? Who is the 'they', Jungkook talking about?

"So, you killed her with your hands?" Yoongi asked, "Did you?"

Jungkook emerges from the shadows, "That's the least problem you should worry about. What about the sole purpose why you came here?" Jungkook walks his way to his brother.

"Don't you think I deserve punishment? For all the things I did?" Jungkook asked. He then took a gun from his belt, pointing the gun at Yoongi, who was still staring at the man in front of him.

"Pointing a gun to my face is a reward I hope to receive," Yoongi said, "Death no longer scares me anymore."

Jungkook smirks and drops the gun, kicking it in front of Yoongi, "Then you have no problem taking a gun for your own life? Come on, hyung, take the gun and finish what you have started."

Yoongi then looks at the gun below his feet before crouching down, slowly picking up the metal barrel in his hands, feeling the weapon's texture. He loaded the gun on Jungkook.

"and that is why you are my favourite hyung, and we are the same."

"What?"

Jungkook steps forward, "If you shoot, you are like me. A heartless mad with nothing to lose. We are the same, and I know we can be as one." The ringing of words entered Yoongi's mind.

"You don't have to be afraid, hyung. It would be best if you stepped up to those who had taken you down. They had stepped on you. Caged you inside a dream that can't be broken. A false hope."

Jungkook stared, reaching out to Yoongi, "Come and join me, hyung... I know we can do this together, take on Seoul like it's the palm of our hands."

"Because I know you are thirsty for the revenge Yoonji Noona wanted."

"No. Yoonji wouldn't want it," Yoongi stares at Jungkook. No, in Yoongi's life, he had never been so sure of many things. He had never known what he wanted, and he was never sure. But he was sure, Yoonji wouldn't enjoy all of this.

He knew her better than anyone.

"How sure are you?" Jungkook laughs, "You don't need to keep that façade up. Haven't you heard the more broken you are, the heavier the mask wields?"

"As long as I live, I don't want to give up."

"Not even for Yoonji? To those people who had hurt her and you? To those who hurt you before, are you sure?"

-

On the other side of the room was Yoongi looking toward Jungkook. He was tired. He had nowhere to go, so he had to do what he had to do.

It's the only way.

"I need to help him, Taehyung. Please just let me try and –"

"Anne, you need to remember, Yoongi is not a kid. It would help if you stopped trying to be the hero in every story. Every story has its villain and hero. It's not your job to be every one of them," Taehyung scolded. Anne, who froze in their spot, could only nod her head.

"What did you call m –"

"That's not important. Yoongi has a plan. I hope he does," Taehyung said, But we need to get of out here and –"

"Anne, you need to stop listening to that dumb head. He doesn't know what he is saying." Jungkook said. Staring at the black screen, the only protection between you and the madman below.

"Just like how you can hear us live, we can hear you too," Jungkook chuckles, "How sad would it be to know you had no faith in my lovely hyung?"

"You fucke-"

"Ah... after I can get you, I'll make sure I make that mouth shut up when I get to –"

"Stop..."

Jungkook looked at the voice that had interrupted him. "I give up..." the voice had called out. Jungkook was still in a battling stare with you, then glimmered in delight.

"What?"

"I SAID I FUCKING GIVE UP!" Yoongi shouted, "I give up... I can't do it."

"Yoongi, no... please – you."

Jungkook then skips his way to yoongi, hugging him in delight.

"The darkness in delight to embrace its new member! You know how those voices are inside your head? They are your guidance hyung to the new life!"

Yoongi, who was reclining on his knees.

"Oh! Yoongi hyung... I know I can always count on you! Hyung, we can start by –"

"I said I fucking give up, "Yoongi looks at Jungkook monotonously. "I give up my revenge, and I forgive you."

Jungkook, who had heard those words, couldn't help to stumble back.

"Y- you... you what?" Jungkook felt like his head was splitting, and thousands of laughter were laughing.

Pathetic Pathetic Pathetic

"I can't do it, Jungkook... I can't put a bullet in your skull," Yoongi said, "Because I know Yoonji, she's not going to let that happen. She believed everyone deserves a second chance, a third. No bad people were born. They were made."

"YOU'RE WEAK, WEAK, WEAK!" Jungkook shouts. He was in disbelief, and he killed his sister. Her dying wish was the same as his. A second chance? He had given out a lot of those. Where did that make him end up?

He had given a second chance to those he had hoped for. They pleaded to him on their knees, and he had agreed. But when Jungkook had begged for mercy, did they have to turn their backs on him?

Jungkook was in disbelief and didn't notice a pointing gun at him. The whisper inside his head was mocking him, and his mind was not in the right place.

Jungkook... I want to end your misery, but I can't pull the trigger like this. Please let us find a way for you to get better, Yoongi thought.

But as he was about to lower his gun, someone swooped inside, hitting the weapon out of Yoongi's hand. He was taken aback before he saw the shadow man had grabbed Jungkook gently before disappearing, but he was surprised by the glimmering keychain around the man's neck.

Jimin... Yoongi hissed.
