Mothtail hated going hunting alone. He hated being out in the open desert, because despite the screaming for help you gave, no one could hear you.
Sometimes he'd find himself begging the gods to not let him be placed on border patrols or hunting patrols. He just wanted to stay safe and sound with his loving wife, Monarchbreaker, and brother, Milkweedsong. Two of the most important cats in his life, right with his nieces, Settingsun, and Pharoah, Nutmeglight.
But no matter how close they were to him, he had such a hard time finding the courage to talk to them about that night.
Like mother like son he supposed.
He was terrified, he was a loyal husband, he'd never want it to happen, couldn't even think about it without wanting to cry. But who would believe a tom being attacked? They were always the attackers, who would believe him when he finally confessed.
So he kept it a secret, keeping it hidden and buried in his chest and mind for moons, but always felt anxious as he forced himself on patrols to help the tribe.
But then one day, a she-cat came to the tribe. Her fur a beautiful caramel brown, white socks one her long legs as she bounced into camp. Her muzzle was white, with a marking on her chest that reminded Mothtail of rabbit ears.
Her tail was long and thin, ending in a plum of fur at the end, dancing at the end as it flicked around behind her. Her dazzling clover green eyes shined in the afternoon sun.
Milkweedsong took a few steps forward, confronting the she-cat.
"This is the Tribe of Burning Sun camp, who are you and what is your business?" He said. Cats looked out from their dens, confused by the sudden noise.
The she-cat looked at him, faint resemble between them. "I'm looking for a Mothtail," she said.
Mothtail felt his mouth dry as Milkweedsong's ears lowered slightly, flicking his tail towards his younger brother. Monarchbreaker came over to him, brushing against him as a sigh of comfort as she noticed his sudden frozen stature.
"Mothtail, do you know her?" Monarchbreaker asked quietly, her amber eyes looking to the tom.
Mothtail shook his head, but a faint idea as to who the cat was made him was to vomit. The molly smiled, stepping over to him.
"Mothtail?"
Mothtail gave nod. "Y-yes?"
The molly smiled, sitting down. "My name is Lucky, I'm your daughter."
