five
Camila checks her watch as she stands in front of the train tracks. She and Lauren agreed on 9 o'clock and she's worried that maybe the younger girl forgot or Brad tried talking to her or anything else negative. Her brain starts to spin but she takes a drag of her cigarette to calm down. Deep in her heart she knows Lauren is on her way.
It's only a few seconds later when she sees the outline of Lauren's body coming out of the shadows and being illuminated by the one street light. Even in the fluorescent, orange lighting, Lauren looks stunning.
The girl's hair is pushed back with a satin headband and curls perfectly at the edges. Her white polka-dot dress sways as she walks, and her signature saddle shoes click with every step.
"Geez Louise..." Camila breathes out, obviously awestruck by how gorgeous the other girl looks. "I'm feelin' underdressed now."
Once Lauren is close enough, she tugs on Camila's jacket. "Not true, you look beautiful, just like you always do."
Camila doesn't really believe that. She's in her typical leather jacket and white shirt and her the same Levis she's been wearing all week. The only difference from her usual clothing is that her typical Chucks have been replaced with her steel-toed work boots.
"I look like every other greaser in this town."
"Not true, you look like the most beautiful girl in the world."
"I dress like a guy."
"And?" Lauren questions. "I like it. I think it's hot."
Camila rolls her eyes and refuses to acknowledge the compliment, even if it's made her blush. "Whatever, how are you here? I thought for sure your parents were gonna keep you looked up in that castle of yours."
"My mom thinks I'm sleeping over at Lucy's." Lauren moves to sit on the hood of Camila's car and rests her head on the older girl's shoulder. "Besides, it's not like I fibbed, I'm just... detouring."
The greaser grins. "Lying to your parents? I really am a bad influence on you."
"Oh please, it's not like I'm smoking or anything."
Camila nods her head in acknowledgment. She pulls out her deck of Luckies and puts it to her mouth. "Wanna try one?" she asks, her lighter clicking as she ignites the cigarette.
"After what I just said?" she gives Camila an incredulous look, "sure."
The older girl inhales once and then moves the stick to Lauren's mouth. Lauren breathes in shakily and not two seconds later she's coughing her lungs out and shaking her head. Her lungs burn and it's like she can't catch any air.
"Nope," she coughs for a few seconds, "not for me."
Camila rubs the soc's back and gives her a sip of water from a plastic bottle. "Just deep breaths. It'll stop soon."
The brunette watches the younger girl continue to cough and she keeps taking drags of the cigarette. Lauren manages to down half the bottle of water before her coughing fits stops and she can finally breathe normally. "I'm never doing that again."
A soft chuckle leaves both girls' lips and they scoot closer to one another. "So you're a single woman now?"
"Well, I have Shawn, but he doesn't really bat for my team. It's a way to keep the attention off of you and me, and him."
"Well thank God I do bat for your team."
Lauren beams at that and rests her head against Camila again. "So are you gonna make me your girl?"
"Depends," Camila starts, her head turning to look directly at Lauren. "Do you wanna be my girl?"
Lauren moves so that her face is only inches from Camila's. The older girl can feel Lauren's gentle breaths against her lips, can count every freckle on her face. "I'll be whatever you want me to be."
It's Lauren who bridges the gap between them. Her lips brush gently against Camila's and then they're both seeing stars.
Camila's mind has gone blank, as she's thought this moment over a thousand times in her head but now that it's actually happening she's forgotten what to do. All she can think about is how soft Lauren's lips are, how she smells like lavender and vanilla, and how this moment is even more perfect than she thought it could ever be.
Lauren's arms find themselves hanging off of Camila's neck and Camila's hands are on the soc's hips. Lauren's moving to get more comfortable and Camila can feel it, so she takes matters into her own hands.
The girl grabs Lauren and moves her so that she's straddling Camila's lap. It makes Camila do more of the work in holding the girl up, but she enjoys it. Meanwhile, Lauren's vibrating with excitement and nerves as she's never done this.
Her mother always told her that she could get pregnant from sitting on Brad's lap like that while kissing, and while she never really believed it, she always felt paranoid. But Camila's a girl, and there's no risk of something like that, so she wraps her legs around Camila's waist and continues to kiss the brunette with fervor.
The two girls sit like that, teasing one another with hot kisses and tugging at each other's clothes and hair, for what could've been minutes or hours. Lauren discovers that Camila loves biting at her neck and pulling on her hair, and Camila's learned that Lauren is very loud.
Both girls pull away once they hear gravel being overturned and can see headlights shining on the fence beside them. Lauren moves off of Camila's lap and fixes the wrinkles in her blouse and skirt just before someone steps out of the car.
"Mila?" a voice calls out, and Camila instantly relaxes and puts her switchblade back in her pocket.
"Yeah Luke, what's up?" Camila calls out. She looks irritated at being interrupted, and Lauren gives her a quick peck to soothe her.
"Keana, Lucy, Veronica, and I have been looking everywhere for you guys. We wanted to know if you guys wanted to come back to Lucy's to hang. Her parents are in New York for the night."
Camila turns to look at the green-eyed girl. "What do you say, girlfriend?"
The word makes Lauren's stomach flutter with both fear and excitement. "Let's blow this place."
-
Lauren's never spent time with just greasers.
Growing up, she was always told not to talk to the kids who dressed dirty and used inappropriate language. Her parents always told her that the kids from the other side of town were always bad news and would do everything they could to get a nice girl like her in trouble. So, Lauren always stayed away, until Camila that is.
Her parents would probably have her committed if they found out she's getting drunk for the first time in her life with the people they always told her to stay away from.
They'd definitely send her away if they found out she's dating one of them.
She's sitting beside Camila, the older girl having an arm around her shoulders. Keana is on the other side of the couch, sitting on Luke's lap. The two friends keep throwing glances at one another and smiling. Who would've thought that a few weeks before, the two girls would be in here, dating people they never saw themselves with.
Lucy is laying on the floor next to Veronica and the rest of Camila's friends are sprawled around the room sitting in odd positions.
Shawn is the one who brings out the alcohol. Apparently, he and Lucy have gotten drunk multiple times together and they have a secret stash they keep hidden in the basement.
Lauren's eyes widen when he pulls out a bottle of tequila and a bottle of rum. Of course, she's had rum in cakes and desserts but she's never touched tequila, and she's only ever had sips of beer. It's not that Lauren doesn't like drinking, she'd just never felt safe enough to get drunk around Brad, and her parents don't allow her to drink.
"You okay, you're lookin' a little stressed out," Camila comments. Her hand moves to hold onto Lauren's gently and Lauren instantly breathes out, relaxing a bit.
"I've just... I've never gotten drunk."
"We can split if you want, I don't want you feeling uncomfortable." The mere offer makes Lauren nearly tear up. Whenever Lauren wanted to leave a party or seemed anxious, Brad never offered to take her home or go somewhere else with her. All he cared about was getting drunk.
Lauren shakes her head though. "I don't want to leave, I guess the idea of drinking hard alcohol just got me nervous." She's sure she sounds like a total square but it's true, she's never had more than a few sips of cheap beer at a time.
"Wanna do a shot with me?" Camila asks her. Lauren knows Camila won't do anything to her. She's known the girl about two weeks and has been dating her for less than two hours but she already trusts her more than she ever trusted Brad. "You don't have to obviously, but I was thinkin' that maybe it'd be a bit less stressful, ya know?"
The green-eyed girl nods her head in agreement. If she's going to try something new, she might as well do it around a ton of people she actually trusts rather than the entire football team and their annoying girlfriends. "Let's do it."
At that, Camila signals to Shawn and he passes them the bottle of tequila. Ariana hands the two girls a pair of shot glasses and Camila fills them to the brim.
"It's probably gonna burn so you might wanna chaser."
"A what?"
"A drink to follow the alcohol, to make it taste less gross," Camila explains. She looks at her girlfriend like she's an innocent puppy and it makes the other girl blush and shove her playfully.
"I know, I know... I'm a total square."
The greaser shakes her head. "You're not dolly, you're cute."
Lauren is then handed a shot glass that's filled with a golden tinted liquid and the smell alone seems to burn her nostrils. She grabs a can of Coca-Cola Veronica placed in front of her and gets ready to take her first ever shot.
"Cheers, babe." Camila says clinking their glasses together. "To us." Lauren mimics her girlfriend's actions and hits the bottom of the glass on the table before throwing it back into her mouth.
The initial feeling of the alcohol running down her throat is nice, but then she can actually taste it and it's pretty nauseating. She follows the tequila with a swig of the Coke and stick out her tongue in disgust. The horrible aftertaste paired with the warmth in her chest is an odd combination.
Lauren opens her eyes again to see all her friends smiling at her as if they were cheering her on the entire time. "That was so gross," she finally says, but refilling the shot glass anyway.
"Another?" Lucy asks concerned.
"I've never been drunk and you guys are the first people I can trust to make sure I'm okay, so yes."
At that, everyone nods. Lauren looks to Camila as if asking her if it's okay for her to get drunk.
"Baby, you don't have to confirm it with me, you're your own person and can make your own decisions." Camila sounds so sweet as she's saying it, and knowing that she won't get mad at Lauren for being a typical teenage girl makes the green-eyed girl so ecstatic. It's only been a day and Camila's already treated her better than Brad ever did.
Lauren nods her head and then downs the next shot, this one significantly easier than the one before. She takes another sip of Coke and then leans back into the couch and rests her head against Camila's shoulder.
She can feel the warmth coursing through her veins and every part of her body feels loose. Her head is heavy while her neck is weak and she keeps focusing on how her tongue feels like lead. It's all pleasant though. She likes how her brain feels like how the static of her family's television looks.
The green-eyed girl kisses Camila's cheek and then move up to her ear. "I feel nice."
Camila chuckles and squeezes the girl closer. "Good, that's how it's supposed to feel."
For the rest of the night, the two girls lay on the couch. Lauren has her whole body resting on top of Camila's and is being held tightly by her girlfriend. The older girl is taking sips of her beer while Lauren takes small sips of tequila from a shot glass.
Alexa has been watching them curiously, but Lauren's almost certain the girl is too drunk to really process what she and Camila are doing. She also knows that Alexa won't tell anyone about her and Camila, because even though she is bigoted towards greasers, she's constantly said she doesn't understand why so many people see homosexuality as taboo.
Lauren closes her eyes and focuses on the feeling of Camila's hand under her shirt. The brunette's fingers are ghosting over her skin, and while it tickles, it's also extremely grounding. She was repulsed by all of Brad's touches unless she initiated them, but with Camila it's completely different.
The soc lifts her head to see Camila staring up at the ceiling. Lauren smiles; she stares at the brunette's long lashes and her high cheekbones, and perfect nose. She doesn't understand how someone as beautiful as Camila exists. All she wants to do is pepper the brunette's beautiful face with kisses.
"What're you lookin' at?" Camila asks, her head raising so that she can look at her girlfriend properly.
"You."
Camila shakes her head and rolls her eyes playfully. She lays her head back down on the couch just as Lucy moves and puts an empty beer bottle on the table in front of everyone.
"Okay dweebs, we're playing truth or dare."
Veronica nods her head. "What's off limits?"
"Nothin'!" Camila calls out as she sits up, she still holds Lauren close though. "And if you're too square to tell your truth or do your dare, you gotta drink." Everyone raises their drinks in agreement.
Lauren's only ever played truth or dare once before. Whenever she went to parties with Brad no one ever wanted to play, they just preferred getting drunk to the point of vomiting. So, she's excited to play again, and actually be able to participate in all of the dares and truths.
"Lucy you decided the game, you spin first," Ashton states.
The girl leans over the coffee table and spins. All of the teens watch the bottle spin, over and over and over again, until it eventually slows down. It passes Camila and Lauren's breath hitches as she thinks it's going to land on her, but the bottle ignores her and instead stops in front of Veronica.
Lucy smirks at the girl, it seems like she already knows what she's going to ask regardless of how Veronica answers. "Vero, truth or dare?"
The response is cool, calm, confident. "Truth."
"Have you ever necked with anyone here?"
Veronica raises a brow, as if she didn't expect that question but she's also not shocked. "Shawn and I kissed last year."
"That's what confirmed my homosexuality."
Veronica shoves her friend playfully and he laughs before puckering his lips at her. She doesn't even react to him, instead she reaches for the bottle and spins it, causing it to land on Ashton.
"Ash, truth or dare?"
"Truth. I don't trust you people with your dares."
Veronica sighs. "Shucks. Who do you think is the hottest person in this room?"
Ashton doesn't even hesitate with his answer. "Me."
"Really?" Luke asks, sounding shocked.
"No stupid," he looks around at the entire group before shrugging. "I guess I'd say Lauren. Obviously I think everyone here is genuinely very very attractive but Lauren's little bunny teeth just set her apart."
Camila hugs Lauren tighter and pouts. "She's mine, ya' riffraff!" She jokingly exclaims.
Lauren's can't tell if her cheeks are bright red from just being told she's the most attractive person in the room or if it's just the alcohol coursing through her veins. "Th-thank you?"
Ashton, wanting to avoid any further awkwardness, spins the bottle.
The moment the bottle head lands on Camila, Lauren's breath hitches. She wants to know about Camila and her responses to all the questions that have been asked, but she's also scared she'll hear something she doesn't want to.
"Hit me with a dare, Irwin."
Ashton strokes his chin for a moment. It's as if he's pondering a difficult philosophical question. "Seven minutes in Heaven with Lauren."
"I thought you were gonna give me something bad." Camila says, almost relieved. She then turns to her girlfriend. "You good to play?"
Lauren nods her head. The alcohol has been making her feel even needier than normal, and all she wants is Camila's lips on her neck and hands on her hips. When she stands, she stumbles much less than she thought she would and Camila leads her to the closet just a few feet from where Alexa is sitting.
"Knock on the door when it's time!" Lauren calls out before stumbling into the dark room.
The door is slammed closed with her body as Camila pushes her against it gently. Lauren hardly has time to blink before Camila's lips are on hers and both girls are moaning.
The green-eyed girl lets out a loud whimper as Camila's hands squeeze her hips and her mouth moves to her neck. She can feel Camila's teeth scraping against her skin and it makes her hiss from the subtle pain mixed with intense pleasure.
The heat between Lauren's legs grows as the two kiss fervently. It's drowning her, consuming her, and her brain struggled to form any words indicating that she wants Camila to touch her. She's not fast, not at all. Brad only ever saw her topless once. But there's something about Camila that just makes Lauren want to give her everything.
Lauren's hands move from where they're tangled in Camila's hair and down to grab Camila's. The greaser almost stops kissing her girlfriend to ask if everything is okay but then she feels her hands being moved onto Lauren's breasts and her brain short circuits.
The moment Camila's hands begin gently squeezing and kneading at Lauren's breasts, the younger girl rests her head against the door and moans as quietly as she can. The few times she'd let Brad do this, it'd been extremely unenjoyable. It was as if he wasn't thinking about making Lauren feel good and was only focused on himself, but with Camila it's completely the opposite.
Camila seems to only be focusing on Lauren's pleasure, completely gauged by her moans and whimpers. The green-eyed girl can't help but buck her hips when she feels Camila's thumb graze over her clothed nipple. Camila begins repeating that motion and it causes the heat in Lauren's center to spread to other parts of her body.
The pleasure is gone too soon though, as both girls hear a loud knocking at the closet door. Lauren pouts at that and Camila kisses her forehead. "You were okay with everything that just happened, right?"
Lauren nods. The mere fact that Camila asked if she is okay with everything and didn't even more to touch her chest until prompted makes Lauren ten times more certain that Camila is much better than any man she'll find in her life. "It was perfect."
Giving her girlfriend a soft smile, Camila opens the door and allows Lauren to leave before her. All of their friends are smirking at them knowingly and Lauren feels heat rise to her cheeks again.
"Just seven minutes and you've already got three hickies, Lauren," Normani says teasingly. It makes Lauren so embarrassed and she covers her neck with her hands.
"Don't tease her," Dinah says. "Tease the crazy vampire instead."
Lauren just watches as her girlfriend rolls her eyes and flips her friends the bird.
