Summer

The sky is dyed pomegranate red , a beautiful  color that reflected on the blue sea and created the most amazing sight .

The waves seemed calmer than they were when the beach was packed with people earlier.

Somehow, staring at this stunning view relaxed me .

It took me to a peaceful place . A place that I can only visit when I'm at the beach ,specifically at this time of the day .

The sun fell slowly behind the sea as if it was hiding behind it ,and I watched it until it disapeared.

I stood up ready to leave and shook my clothes to get rid of the sand that was clinging to my skin .

I was driving towards my house when I felt my phone vibrate in my shorts' pocket .

Pulling over to the side of the road I answer it eagerly .

" Oh my god Hailey ! I missed you so much !" I greet my best friend .

Hailey Reed , a girl that was more like a sister to me . I've known her for as long as I can remember .

She was in a trip to Italy - the land of pizza- with her mother ,her stepfather and her stepbrother .

Her mom Shannon married Seth Huston when Hailey was 11 . She had the reaction that almost every child would have when their parents  separate and their mom decides to get married . She cried for days espescially when she realised she had a stepbrother , Nick Huston .

A while after their marriage Hailey and I became good friends with Nick .

" Ugh girls ! Hi Lana Banana! " I heard a boyish voice say .

I frown not expecting to hear his voice through the phone " Nick ! I thought you were Hailey ! Why are you calling me from her phone ? And for fudge's sake how many times did I tell you to stop calling me Lana banana!"

" Obviously not enough times !" He jokes " Admit it ! you missed me ,right???"

" I certainly did not do such a thing  " I reply smiling at my phone .

" Is that what you tell yourself every night before going to sleep? " He mocks me and before I could muster a reply he adds " Anyway we can bicker another time , right now I need you to do something for me "

I gasp and put a hand on my chest " And I'm the one who thought you called because you missed me , I'm hurt Nicky "

" Put some ice on that burn baby ! I'll let you get away with calling me Nicky this time "

" Lana at your service , what do you need sir ? "

" Well since you're my favourite stepsister's bestfriend I'm giving you a mission "

" First of all I'm your only stepsister's bestfriend and second of all what's the mission ? " I ask curious about his "mission" .

" I need to talk to my bestfriend Aaron  like right now but he isn't online on any social media , and since it's the only way I can communicate with people from Italy because I can't afford normal calls , I can't really reach him unless I ask someone from there to do it for me " He explained.

" And I guess I am that special someone ? " I raise an eyebrow .

" Yes Ma'am ! I'll send you his number on messenger and then you either text him or call him ,capish?  "

" Wow wow hold on a minute ! I've never talked to the dude and I don't think he even knows who I am and you want me to go and text him just out of the blue ? "

Is Nick on something? I can't just text Aaron Edleson . The quarterback of the school's football team and the arrogant guy who never says hi when I'm at the Huston's house . I mean yeah I've seen him before at school too but we've never spoken before .

I heard Nick sigh on the other line " Lana come one it's really urgent , just text him 'Hi Aaron I'm Nick's friend , he needs you to go online asap it's a HCS ' And then done he won't even bother you , and he does know who you are .He saw you at my place multiple times ! He knows you're my sis's bestfriend "

I smiled at the way he referred to Hailey as his " sis' " not his "stepsister" . I love how they actually act like real brother and sister even if they bicker all the time and they don't admit it.

I take a deep breath " I swear you owe me lots of Italian pasta now !"

" YOU ARE THE BEST FRIEND EVER ! " I pushed the phone away from my ears and cringed at the loud tone he used .

" My ears are bleeding Nicky ! Now send me the damn number I'll text the dude, and also tell Hailey to facetime me when you guys buy pizza "

He chuckles and then we say our goodbyes .

I stare at my phone waiting for the text with Aaron's number .

I receive it moments later with a messenger text saying Remember to tell Aaron that I need him to go online asap it's a HCS

"What the fudge is  'HCS' " I ask myself .

I save his number as "HCS???!" and send him the text .
