doyoung was walking between yuta and jaehyun with his head hung low to hide himself from the confused stares of the demons surrounding them.

"you have to be kidding me..." a low voice made doyoung stop in his tracks in the middle of the school's corridor.

jaehyun and yuta both stopped walking as well, frowns appearing on their faces.

"taeyong!" jaehyun exclaimed before rolling his eyes.

"is he who i think he is?" the demon asked, approaching his face from doyoung's scared one.

"depends on who you are thinking about." yuta shrugged.

the taeyong guy didn't pay attention to yuta.

instead, he approached the kidnapped human even more, making doyoung feel a sudden wave of warmth at their close proximity.

"he's cute for a human." taeyong mumbled with a smile. "hello you. may i know your little name?" he added, obviously flirting.

the human standing in front of him almost choked on his saliva at the sudden flirt attack from the demon added to the sudden urge to take one of his many jackets off.

but thankfully, he was pulled away from the awkward position he was in.

"his name is doyoung, and he's here to realise how peaceful our realm is. i want his stay to be the best possible, so don't start scaring him with your shit." jaehyun replied, holding doyoung firmly by the arm.

doyoung slowly lifted his head to look at the demon hair whose jaw was clenched, and whose grip on his arm was starting to hurt. he also noticed that the area he was holding, despite being cocooned under many layers of fabric, was burning hot.

"of course..." taeyong chuckled. "i had forgotten how possessive you were over things..."

"this didn't seem to bother you before." jaehyun tackled back, letting go doyoung's arm to approach the other demon.

"i didn't say it did."

"but you sound like it." jaehyun continued taking slow steps towards taeyong.

"the past is the past. i'm a new man now." taeyong shrugged.

"yeah, and so am i." jaehyun spat.

doyoung was standing a few meters away, and he was starting to suffocate.

the temperature of the corridor had suddenly increased of a dozen of degrees, and he felt like he would pass out because of the warmth.

plus, the fact that there were lots of people surrounding them – surely to watch the argument – didn't help him to calm down.

"guys..." yuta cut their arguing, giving a glance to the human. "not to alarm you, but doyoung is quite in a bad state."

both jaehyun and taeyong diverted their eyes to the human that was sweating hard next to them.

as both boys forgot about their previous argument, the temperature of the room decreased in a second, making the air breathable for doyoung once again.

"are you okay?" jaehyun asked, looking at doyoung in the eye.

"i-i think i need a bit of f-fresh air." the human replied with a nod.

jaehyun gave the human a weak smile. "go out with yuta for a bit. i'm coming in a minute."

with a nod from yuta, doyoung was brought outside, where he would be far from their demon argument, and far from the crowd of foreign creatures.

yuta offered him to sit at a table which doyoung gladly accepted.

the boy tried to calm his breathing for a while before starting to talk.

"who was this boy?" he asked to the demon.

"taeyong?" yuta raised a brow. "he's a very flirty demon. he used to be jaehyun's boyfriend."

"boyfriend?" doyoung repeated, quite surprised. jaehyun seemed to be the kind of boy to have lots of girls to his feet, and to have a popular and annoying girlfriend.

"yeah. they have been together for two years. the king and the queen thought that they would be the next rulers of the realm. but they broke up." yuta explained.

"why?"

"nobody knows other than themselves." yuta shrugged.

"it's the time for us to bid our goodbyes." jaehyun said giving doyoung a quick smile.

the day was finally coming to an end.

after being locked inside the demon realm for a full day with jaehyun and yuta, it was finally time for doyoung to go back home.

he had waited for that moment all day.

even though the day in the demon realm hadn't been as horrible as he had imagined, he still felt out of place in this warm and reddish environment.

he preferred the light blue tones his world offered.

the only thing he seemed to prefer here, in the demon realm, was the temperature.

the demon realm was a very warm place to be, and during the day, doyoung had even felt the urge to take off one of his sweatshirts to prevent himself from suffocating.

"yuta will open the portal, and as soon as you'll go through it, you'll appear in your world, behind school." jaehyun explained as yuta recited a few words that doyoung didn't really understand. "yuta will wait for you directly in your room tomorrow morning."

"done!"

doyoung looked towards yuta where a huge whirling portal had appeared, the sides of it being black, and the landscape visible on the other side being the softest blue colour.

a breath of relief escaped doyoung's lips as he unconsciously stepped towards the magical portal.

he didn't feel safe in this red world full of demons.

his parents had taught him to despise them, because they were bad.

and that's what doyoung had done all his life – without really knowing why.

"one more thing."

doyoung got pulled back by the arm as he was about to cross the portal and escape this hell.

his body had reacted on its own when he had seen his blurry realm on the other side of the portal.

he had felt the urge to run there.

he had felt the urge to disappear from the demon realm.

he had felt the urge to never go there again.

he had felt the urge to tell his parents about it.

but sadly, the strong grip of the demon heir had prevented him to run away into freedom.

instead, he was forced to face this – quite handsome – demon, and listen carefully to his next words.

"tell anything and your realm disappears. remember?"

doyoung gulped, sensing the seriousness of jaehyun's tone.

he let his mind imagine the consequences of telling his parents about the kidnapping, but tried thinking about something else very quick.

right, he couldn't tell his parents.

he had to endure this.

passing his nights in his realm, and his days in the demon realm, with jung jaehyun, the heir of this realm.
