"thanks for your attention and see you in two weeks, after a well-deserved holiday!" the strategy teacher exclaimed as the classroom full of demons – and one human – were already happily leaving the hell hole that was school to enjoy their holiday.

the last ones to leave the classroom were – as usual – jaehyun, yuta and doyoung.

"finally!" yuta exclaimed. "i feel like i've been waiting all year for these holidays!"

"stop exaggerating." jaehyun rolled his eyes. "it wasn't that horrible thanks to doyoung's company." he added, wrapping an arm around the human's shoulders.

doyoung blushed slightly at the sudden proximity.

both the heat radiating from the demon's body and the feeling of his heartbeat accelerating were the cause of it, but he would never admit the second one.

"what are we going to do during the holiday?" doyoung asked, hoping to change the subject and make his cheeks go back to a normal colour.

"what do you mean?" jaehyun raised a brow.

"like... are you going to come and get me in the morning like we do when there's school?"

"no... we can't. it's the holiday." yuta replied.

"but why?" doyoung asked, unintentionally pouting.

"we can't keep you here forever. you need to spend some time with your friends and family." jaehyun explained, patting the pouting human's head.

next to them, yuta opened the portal doyoung was now so familiar with.

"we'll be back in two weeks, though. on monday morning, when we'll all go back to school." yuta specified.

doyoung nodded to his dismay and walked towards the magical gate that was allowing him to see the cold and blue décor of his bedroom.

"goodbye, doyoung." yuta waved at him.

"bye." doyoung threw him a small smile before looking at jaehyun.

he was standing a bit behind yuta, looking deeply at the human who was about to leave him for two weeks.

doyoung couldn't hear it, but jaehyun's heart was beating at a fast pace in his ribcage, and a void could already be felt there, the void that doyougn would create by leaving him for two long weeks.

they had been together all day long for more than a month.

they had grown fond of each other.

and they were about to leave each other.

nor forever, but still.

"see you soon, doyoung." jaehyun said, a sad smile appearing on his face.

"see you soon." doyoung replied before stepping inside the portal.

he was back inside his bedroom.

for two long weeks.

he had left this world full of demons.

he had left this red sky.

he had left these different people.

he had left the constant heat.

he had left his new routine.

but most importantly, he had left jaehyun.

doyoung was lying on his bed, under a dozen of layers of clothes and comforters.

he was cold as hell, and he didn't remember his realm being this cold.

one week had passed since the beginning of the holiday.

there was one week left before he would be able to go back to the demon realm.

one long week.

doyoung was bored.

he had no idea what to do, and he didn't want to do anything because of the omnipresent cold that had taken over his realm.

everybody was cold. and he seemed to be even colder.

perhaps was it because he had been used to being in a realm where the temperature was a lot hotter?

unconsciously, doyoung started to miss his past life, when he went to the demon realm every day.

he missed the warmth that allowed him to wear only a sweater above his shirt.

he missed the heat emitting from the demons' bodies when they approached him.

he missed the funny days he spent, learning about things he wasn't familiar with.

and as weird as it seemed, he missed jaehyun.

it had only been one week, but doyoung's mind wandered to jaehyun awfully often.

doyoung missed the little touches, and the little attentions the demon heir gave him.

he also missed those times he would show his more dominant side, and also his possessiveness.

this made butterflies tingle in the pit of doyoung's stomach.

this made him feel loved and desired.

and he found himself liking to feel loved and desired by jaehyun.

doyoung missed yuta too.

this demon was funny to hang around, and doyoung considered him a great friend.

he was the one to come to him every morning, and try to brighten his day with jokes and stupid remarks.

however, the feeling doyoung had towards yuta was far from being the one he had towards jaehyun.

and he was slowly realising this.

yuta made him laugh out loud. jaehyun made him chuckle.

yuta made him roll his eyes. jaehyun made him blush.

yuta made him smile. jaehyun made his heart beat so fast.

of course... yuta was a friend...

and this meant that jaehyun was a crush.

"oh my god..." doyoung slapped his red cheeks. "why am i like this?!" he questioned himself.

one thing in his head was refraining him to think that he had an actual crush on the demon heir.

his family, and his realm.

humans hate demons for what they did decades ago.

doyoung's parents didn't even know about him going to the demon realm every day.

and if they came to know about it, they would surely get mad.

but this was so saddening for the human heir.

how could he do?

would he be able to continue going to the demon realm every day?

will he keep seeing jaehyun on a daily basis?

is he going to get even closer to jaehyun?

are they going to end up together?

and if this works, how will they do for the royal weddings that both boys will need to have to become the next kings?

could it be possible that they get married together to make the two realms one?

"fucking mind!" doyoung hid his head under the covers. "i have not fallen so deep to already think about our marriage!" he muffled.

but he was lying to himself.

he had fallen that deep for the demon heir.

he was painfully aware of it.

and by doing that, he was betraying his family, and his realm.
