The year is 2136 and Earth has changed quite a bit. For starters over 20 years ago a comet hit our planet and released a strange substance into the air that imbedded itself into people's DNA giving them or their future children special powers like that of fictional superheroes we read about in comic books and see in movies. But these powers created criminals as well as heroes. So in order to contain the chaos the governments across the world built space station hospitals/living spaces for these superpowered individuals. These hospitals are kept in Earth's lower orbit to keep a close eye on them. Some 'patients' have been in these hospitals since they were created. Some were born on Earth and sent up to the hospitals. Some were born in the hospitals. All with a variety of different powers and abilities.
