Welcome Home
[This is the same scene you read in the prologue || I should also let you know that this is not a Hoseok X reader book, but I guess you can imagine it's you if you're comfortable.]
"Welcome home Hobi! Dinners ready and set on the table, where were you?" Hoseok put his bag down gently near the table and sat down. "I was with some people." He replied back with a smile. His sister, Jiwoo, and his parents were smiling as they thought of 6 other boys he usually hangs out with.
"How are they, Hobi?" Hoseok managed to sneak a piece of hockey in his bag before his mother looked up from her plate, "Who?"
"Your friends, your childhood friends?" Hoseok's Dad put his fork down, "I never thought there would be a day we would have to remind you about those 6 boys."
"Oh.." He slipped another meatball in the bag, "I wasn't with them."
Jiwoo started to get curious, everybody did, "Then who were you with?" She questioned. "Can we just eat without, y'know, investigating me?"
Cough
Hoseok looked at the bag and started to sweat faster. "I'm going to the bathroom." He announced. He picked up his bag and headed straight for the bathroom. "Young man! What about your food?" His mom asked, "Don't worry, I'll be back."
Five minutes later, he came back and grabbed his plate and put five big scoops of noodles and spaghetti sauce and made his way back to the bathroom.
Hoseok's Dad put his head in his hand, "And there goes the left overs."
...
Hoseok gently placed the plate of spaghetti on the counter. He stared at the bag, like if he let his eyes off of it, it would disappear. "..Hello..? It's safe to speak now." A slight whimper came from the bag, "Where am I?" The voice asked. Hoseok started to unzip the zipper, and when he did, a girl covered in a blanket with a frightened look on her face.
"It's okay, you'll be alright." He took the plate of spaghetti and placed it in front of her, "Here, eat this, you'll be healthier. I've also got some vegetables and fruits. Anything."
"I don't know what fejitibals or vruits are. I don't know what this is." She says pointing at the plate in front of her.
"Uhm, I'll be right back, for now just stay here. I'll get you some things. Can you please take this silver looking thing we call a fork and use it to scoop up your food to your mouth while I'm gone? It'll help a lot. Okay, be right back!"
He then leaves the girl alone in the bathroom. She takes the fork in her hand and stares at it. She looks back and forth between the food and her utensil. "Scoop." She mumbles.
Then, she starts eating the food like the earth depended on it. Well, like the town depended on it, but then again. She's supposed to be eating mushed food, not scoops of spaghetti.
As she launched the last fork of noodles in her mouth, the door in front of her opened and closed. Hoseok came in with a basket filled with shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, body wash, and perfume. He had a stack of clothes in his other hand.
"Woah, I didn't think you'd finish it that fast."
"I mean, what do you expect? It's the first good meal I've had in- well- forever."
The boy placed the clothes and hygiene stuff near the bathtub. He sat down on the floor in front of the girl while rubbing his knees. "So what's your name?" The girl stared at him blankly, "What is a name?"
"And this is where I start worrying.." Hoseok sighed under his breath. "Welp!" He clasped his hands together, "A name is what people use to call you. When they need you, they'll call you by a certain word. That certain word, is your name. For example, my name is Hoseok. When people need me, they'll say 'Hey, Hoseok!' or 'Hoseok! Come here!' Do you get what I mean?"
The girl nodded slightly, "Are there any other ways to use a name?"
"Yes there is. When you first meet someone, you go, 'Hi, my name is Hoseok. It's nice to meet you.' Only, your name is not Hoseok so you've got to use your name."
"Oh.." the girl nodded, "Well, we can talk about this name thing later, I'm going to bed." She started adjusting herself in her bag before Hoseok stopped her. "No no no no no."
The boy started to sweat, "You have to shower first.."
"Shower?"
And of course, the other sighed once again, "Yes, it's where you get cleaned." Hobi walked over to the shower and twisted the handle so that warm water cane from the bottom faucet. He picked the- uhm thingy magiger- up so that the water came from the shower head.
"I'm just gonna assume you don't even know what water is, so...." Hoseok started to sweat even more. "I'll be right back." He said and ran out the room while taking out his phone.
...
"Thanks for coming over, Sky. I don't know how to bathe..." Hoseok paused and glanced over at the thin girl looking over a toothbrush. "a girl.." he shivered.
"It's alright! Her hair was being all tough though, I never seen or touched anything so..." Sky also stole a glance from the girl, "tangled.."
"but it's cool. I cut it just below her shoulders, that way it's easier to brush it. You also need to start educating her in some things, you know how hard it was putting her in the water?"
Hoseok giggled, "I couldn't tell by her loud screaming." Sky rolled her eyes, "Okay, I got to go. School is tomorrow and I'm not falling asleep in English class, I hate Mr. Pitman. Oh yeah- speaking of school, how are you supposed to keep an eye on her?"
"That is still to be determined. I'll figure it out, don't worry. Just go before my parents catch you!" He pushed her out the door and before Sky was able to say another word the door closed. Hoseok sighed and made his way back to the bathroom. Only- the girl wasn't there anymore.
Panic overcame Hoseok and he quietly ran around the house looking for her. He wasn't able to call her because he still doesn't know her name. He was going to go in Jiwoo's room to see if she had heard anything the past few minutes.
But when he had entered the room, she seemed occupied with somebody else. "Jung Hoseok!" The said boy froze.
"Who is this and why is she wearing my clothes?!" Jiwoo's face was red from anger, the other girl was full of fear against the wall. "Jiji! Chill, she's just a friend of mine!" Hoseok ran towards the scared girl and grabbed her hand and trailed her towards the door.
"That doesn't explain why she's wearing my clothes." She stood up from her bed and crossed her arms, "I won't tell mom and dad she's hear unless you have a reasonable explanation." She waited whilst tapping her foot.
Hoseok sighed as he gently let go of the girl's hand, "She's in my grade, she just ran away from her parents and didn't have anywhere to stay. All the girls hate her and I'm her only friend. She didn't have any clothes so I gave her yours..."
"Yeah..." The girl said faintly. Jiwoo went up to the girl and held out her hand, "I'm Jung Jiwoo, what's your name?"
"Hwayoung! Her name is Hwayoung..." Hoseok blurted, Jiwoo gave him a look of concern before turning back to who is now Hwayoung. "What are you doing?" Hwayoung asked and Jiwoo only giggled. "I'm waiting for you to shake my hand."
Hwayoung gently grabbed the other hand and Jiwoo gladly accepted it. "Well, Hwayoung, if Hobi had warned me that we would be having a guest I wouldn't have been so rude towards you. Forgive me."
"It's...okay?" Hwayoung looked up at Hoseok to see if she was doing okay. The boy nodded and Hwayoung smiled. "Okay, sorry for the disturbance, go and rest for school tomorrow." And with that, the two left Jiwoo's room.
As soon as they reached Hoseok's room, the boy collapsed. "Hwayoung is your name now. I'll also need you to not wonder around without me. I can't have anyone knowing your the girl below the building. Only my friends know, and Sky, so you have to have me whenever you talk to people alright?"
He looked at the girl who was now sitting on his bed, she simply nodded and she fell back. "I'm going to register you in my school tomorrow so that way you're always around me. We have to go to bed now, I'll sleep down here."
"Okay, but... Ho..seok..?" Hwayoung peeped, "What is a school? And what is a friends?" Hoseok chuckled and sighed, "you'll understand later, just go to sleep." He said in a soft tone and not another word came from the girl.
Before Hoseok was able to go to bed, he scrolled through his Instagram. Laughing once in awhile because after the "kidnapping" some people decided to celebrate.
