The kids look around at the flickering lights because flickering lights are a frequent sign of trouble. The flourescent lights buzzing suddenly. There was low frequency rumbling. I could hear a fluttering sound. Will gets goose bumps on the back of his neck. I stood up looking at Will,

"He's here." Will pipes up. Will shivers as everyone stands up. El breathes deeply as I crack my knuckles. Mike is mashing the button for the elevator. There was beeping but it doesn't work.

"Stairs." Mike yells.

"Nice clear choice Mike yeah lets use the broken elevator. " I yelled at Mike.

"Jesus!" Mike screamed.

"What the f-" Max tries.

"I did not sign up for this in kindergarten." I mumbled to El. The creature was roaring as we got closer. El uses her powers to slam the creature into the wall as I got ready.  El yells which was when I helped her. The creature starts to wail. El yells just before I started to yell. The creature groans as we clung it to the roof. El yells louder as the creature shrieks. We chuck the creature to the ground. El yells as I stop for a second. She stops for a second but I don't. The  creature snarls. Then she sends that Gooey Bitch right out of the window as I got my breath back.

El yells as it goes out the window. It hits the ground in front of the hospital with a gross splatting noise and immediately melts itself into just straight up gross fleshy goo. I smile at El before regaining my balance.

"Go." El yells. Me and the party run outside. It was making me tired. We were all panting. I could see lights buzzing. They all watch as the gross goo makes it's gross way into the storm drain and slides it's gross self into the sewers. There was some squelching which made me look at it disgusted.

"It can't be good for her to be in there for this long." Mike said as we sat Mike's basement waiting for El.

"Mike, you need to relax." Max answers.

"What if she gets brain damage or something?" Mike asked.

"Oh, shit. Is that, like, a real thing?" Lucas asked I shook my head at him.  Lucas is eating "Honey Smacks" straight from the box and I'm wondering whether they belong to El or dad because it's not me.

"No, it's not. He made it up. Mike doesn't know what he's talking about." Max answered.

"Oh, and you do?" Mike asked.

"No, I..." Max tried.

"I know my sister better then any of you. So don't go there Mayfield and Wheeler!" I exclaim to them. Max and Mike arguing continues which makes me sit down annoyed. Max and Mike go over to Nancy Will and Jonathan as I trail behind.

"Okay, can you guys settle an argument for us? Who do you think should decide El's limits? Mike or Eleven?" Max asked I just stand there arms crossed.

"Let's be honest I know El's limits because I have the same fucking powers so if you think you know her limits please enlighten me with them!" I yelled slightly.

"The way that you frame that is such bullshit." Mike pipes up.

"It's not bullshit, Mike. This is your whole problem. And it's also precisely the reason why she dumped your ass." Max said.

"El dumped you?" Nancy asked.

"Yeah, because she is conspiring against me and Lucas (He motions to Max) She's corrupting her and Alex." Mike screams.

"No, enlightening her." Max says,

"No you lied to her you lied to me Wheeler and I'm meant to be so close to you but nana isn't ill at all." I yell slightly anger in my voice. Will and Lucas both look at each other and share a moment of "Really?" but they're smart boys so they stay out of it.

"The fact is, she's not yours. She's her own person, fully capable of making her own decisions." Max points out.

"She's risking her life for no reason." Mike yells I look at him mad and annoyed.

"No reason. So the time El saved you after knowing you what six days. Then she saved your life after being gone almost a year was for no reason I'm sorry but you're a lying fucker!" I yelled slapping him.

"For no reason? Mike, the flayed are out there doing God knows what." Nancy yells.

"Killing, flaying..." Lucas carried on.

"Transforming into monsters." Will finished.

"And El's not stupid. Not with Alex as a sister." Nancy tells Mike. Mike rolls his eyes because no one's agreeing with him.

"Oh don't give us that look. You know I won't do anything against my sister not after what happened between us. We meaning not you me and El know her abilities better then you I know them better because guess what I have the same powers. El is her own person living her life the way she wants even if it saving your dumbass from the mind flyer if it was up to me you would of died two years ago." I yell to him.

"She knows her abilities better than any of us. So if anything her and Alex should decide her limits." Nancy points out.

"Exactly, thank you." Max agrees.

"And she is her own person." Nancy says.

"Exactly." I agree.

"With her own free will." Nancy continues. Mike looks betrayed by Nancy, but girls stick together so beat that.

"Exactly. El has saved the world twice, and Mike still doesn't trust her." I yell.

"You wanna talk about trust, really? After you made Eleven and Tessa spy on us?" Mike asked.

"Wait, what?" Lucas asked.

"Oh, she didn't tell you this?" Mike asked.

"No." Lucas answered.

"Your best mate used El's and Tess's powers to spy on us." Mike answered.

"No, no, no, I did not make them. It was their idea. And why are we even talking about this, seriously?" Max asked.

"Yeah, who cares?" Will agreed.

"I care." Lucas answered.

"Yeah. I guess best mates don't lie, they spy." Mike continued.

"I don't give a shit about this. I like how I'm the centre of attention for once (everyone looks at her) what I'm never anyone's first choice but if something is needed with my powers or I did something with my powers attention goes to me. I'm not one of those attention seeking bitches because I never had attention growing up. So if you wanna speak about me at least do it when I'm not in the house or in earshot of you." I scream. Lucas walks up to me putting his arms around my waist.

"You know I love you right." Lucas said.

"You're lucky I know you love me." I answered then I kissed him.

"Does that mean you're my girlfriend again?" Lucas asked.

"If you don't distance yourself from me." I said looking at him.

"Of course." He agreed.

"We were just joking around." Max tries.

"Wouldn't its've been so funny if I was taking a massive shit or something?" Mike asked.

"You weren't." Max answered looking confused.

"But what if I was?" Mike asked again.

"Then gross!" Max exclaims.

"Seriously, Mike?" Nancy asks.

"I'm just trying to demonstrate how careless Max is with Eleven's powers. In fact, how careless all of you are. Alex you try to not know her powers but you do know her powers better then any of us. You're treating her like some kind of machine when she's not a machine, and I don't want her to die looking for the flayed when they've obviously vanished off the face of the Earth. So can we please just come up with a new plan because I love her and I can't lose her again." Mike yells as the  door start opening. El comes out of our room.

"What's going on?" El asked.

"Nothing. Nothing." Mike answered.

"Just a family discussion." Lucas says. El looks at me as I shrug. 

"Oh." El answered I walked to her side. "I found him."

"Found who?" Nancy asked. El is sitting in front of the TV which has been moved into the main sitting area of the cabin everyone sits and watches her, I just stand there. El's gasping breaths as she finds him. El starts looking for him and rips her blindfold off.

"What's he doing now?" Max asked. El getting a glass of water from the kitchen and gulping it down as I stand next to her.

"And that's not normal, right?" Nancy asked.

"Billy staying in his room on the Fourth of July? No, that's not normal." Max answered.

"He wants us to find him." Will points out.

"Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. If we go to Billy, then the rest of the flayed know where we are." Nancy says.

"It's a trap, I agree. We'll be ambushed." Mike points out.

"We won't be surprised. We'll know that they're coming, and we will kick their flayed butts." Lucas says.

"You mean El and Alex will kick their butts." Max says. El sees the lucky charms box in the kitchen and has a flash of memories about "Papa" and the "Rainbow Room" when she comes to she listens to Mike and Nancy as I grab her hand slightly.

"It's too risky." Mike points out to the others as I stand there.

"Yeah, and unnecessary. Killing the flayed won't stop the Mind Flayer. We have to find out where it's spreading from. We have to find the source." Nancy tries.

"Billy knows it. Billy's been there. To the source." I state.

"Yeah, but-" Mike tries.

"It's a trap. I know. We can't go to Billy, but I think there's another way. A way for me to see where he's been. A way for us to see where he's been." I butt in. El was sitting down in front of the TV. There was static hissing.

"El, I know you think you have to do this, but you don't. It's just, you've only done this before once. And your mom, she loved you, and wanted you to know what happened. And Billy's mind is- is sick, diseased. The Mind Flayer is in him. Alex should do it." Mike says I just look at him.

"Hey I've saved your arse to many times in the past three years." I mumbled.

"He can't hurt me. Not in there." El points out.

"We don't know that." Mike says.

"Mike. I need you to trust me." El continues.

"Yeah. Just... be careful." Mike carried on being worried.

"(whispers to Mike) She's gonna be careful because I can always help her if needed." I whispered to Mike. El puts on her blindfold as I sit not far from her. El is breathing heavily and I grow more panicked. El starts whimpering.

"Something's wrong." Mike points out I just looked at him. Everyone looks worried.

"(panicked) Get me a blindfold now please." I panicked.

"Why?" Lucas asked I just looked at him and pointed to El.

"Because she needs all the help she can get and right now I'm the only way of help." I answered.

"Are you okay? Do you need help?" Mike asked her.

"[sighs softly] I'm okay. No I don't need help." El answered.

"What's going on?" Mike asked.

"I'm... on a beach." El answered.

"Okay, I may be dense, but the last I checked, there weren't any beaches in Hawkins." Lucas pipes up.

"(sarcastically) No shit Sherlock you cracked the secret code." I answer.

"What else do you see?" Max asked.

"A woman. She's... pretty. I... I think she's looking at me. There's... a boy." El answered.

"Well this is weird." I point out.

"It's Billy." El states.

"It's California. It's a memory." Max states.

"I think I see it. The source." El says. "I think I found it. [She starts panting] The source."

"Where, El? Where are you?" Max asked.

"Brimborn... Steelworks." El answered. Jonathan runs over to the phonebook.

"Here. Okay, uh, steelworks, steelworks... Uh... Here, steel. Uh... Found it. 6522 Cherry Oak Drive." Jonathan says.

"That's close." Nancy states.

"El, El, we found it. Get out of there. Get out." Mike yells.

"In all my years would of I have known I would be sitting here right now fighting something from DND." I answer. El rips off her blindfold.

"No!" El screamed I ran up to her.

"El, you're okay. It's- It's okay. El." Mike says. She was sobbing. El clings to Mike as I rub her arm slightly.
