First Mission ((Chapter 1))
"Here you go, Dipper. I've been working on it for quite some time, but I got it done just in time for you to be back." Grunkle Ford handed Dipper "his own Journal". Dipper looked at it, excitement flooding through him. It had a blue encrusted pine tree on it instead of a golden hand, but everything else looked the same as the other Journals had. Dipper flipped through it. Just empty pages. Darn.
"Thank you, Great Uncle Ford!" Dipper exclaimed, his excitement covering up his disappointment.
"Oh, don't mention it." Grunkle Ford laughed. "Now you can get on with your first mystery to add to your Journal. Follow me." Grunkled Ford turned and walked down towards the vending machine. Dipper followed nervously, but he couldn't stop shivering with happiness and excitement. Grunkle Ford pressed the buttons, faster than Grunkle Stan had, Dipper examined, and they worked their way down to the elevator. Ford pressed the buttons leading them to the second floor, the "special room", and Dipper walked into the elevator with Grunkle Ford. They arrived at the second floor, and the doors to the elevator creaked open. Dipper stepped out, and examined the room.
Man, it feels like forever since I've been in here. I wonder what Grunkle Ford has been-
"Hello, Dipper...?" Ford waved his hands in Dipper's face. He snapped back into focus: "Y-yeah?" Ford laughed.
"You looked like you were a million miles away!"
"S-s-sorry, I was just-"
"Oh, there's no need to say sorry. Come; I've got your first mission." Ford stepped up the desk and beckoned Dipper to sit beside him. Dipper sat down in the wooden chair, and wiped the dust that had formed.
"I just saw it on the Gravity Falls Gossiper a few days ago; here, you can just read it and see for yourself." Ford took a nicely folded piece of paper out of his coat and handed it to Dipper. He took it thankfully, and opened it up. The paper had a picture of a normal looking girl, and stated at the bottom:
There has been a strange girl, looking about 14 years in age, that always comes into town at the same time everyday. We interviewed with the new Dusk2Dawn owners, and they stated that 'she had been coming since after the... Well, never mind all that!'. The other children around say that they've tried to get her to play with them, or hang out sometime, but she always declines. Whenever they try to talk about their parents or where they live, she walks away or changes the subject. Some have even stated they have seen her enter the woods, and never come out until the next day. We will update you with anymore information soon.
Dipper looked up from the paper, thinking.
"That's what what I want you to investigate. Go to Dusk2Dawn tomorrow and try to get some information from her. She's said to come out at 1:30 everyday."
Dipper nodded. "Alright."
***The next day***
"I'll go get your bag, brobro!" Mabel yelled from the attic. Dipper slipped his shoes on. "Alright! Thanks!" Suddenly, a bad was thrown down the stairs and onto the floor a few feet away from Dipper. He picked it up and walked out the door, making sure he had his Journal with him.
My first mission! I just hope it goes well...
