Hopes And Dreemurrs
"Asriel!"
"Hey, are you okay...?" I asked, helping the kid up. From what I've heard, this thing is a human.
"What's your name?.....Chara? My name's Asriel, here let me take you to the castle. Mom can patch you up."
"Asriel!"
"C'mon, show me your scary face!" I said, smiling. Chara looked at me, shrugging.
"Aw c'mon, please?" I soon fell back from the human's expression, and I looked at my camera.
"Oh, the lens cap was on...will you do it again?....Yeah I thought so. Oh well."
"Asriel!"
I sat in Chara's room, looking at them.
"It wasn't supposed to be like this..."
I mumbled, wiping a tear from my eye. Wobbling to my feet, I looked at my best friend once more.
"Get better for me, okay?"
"Asriel..!"
I rushed out the door, holding Chara in my arms. Even though I left the house, I could still hear my parents' sobs from the castle. There's no way I'd let my best friend's body rot away down here, they need to be with their fellow humans...
I then paused briefly, looking at my reflection in the puddle. Heh. Even though I never intended to absorb their soul, the human's soul inside me sure changed my body a bit. With a great deal of effort, I forced my way past the barrier keeping us monsters underground. I squinted at first, the bright sunset nearly blinding me. Glancing down at Chara's body, I then remembered my priories and walked to their village. Hostile stares greeted me as I stepped into the village, and I set Chara in the center of it. Now you can rest happy, my best frie-
I coughed, an arrow piercing my shoulder. Then I felt rocks being thrown at me, the other humans must have assumed I had killed Chara. Though I smiled, just glad that I had done what I came for.
"...."
When I got back, I was done for. Arrows lined my shoulder to my waist, bruises covered my body, and I left a trail of dust behind me. Upon seeing my parents, I kneeled on the ground.
"Sorry...but I made sure that they were safe...."
Whatever was left of me became dust, and for a while I was just a wandering soul in the afterlife.
"Asriel."
I looked at the kid.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!"
"Asriel Dreemurr!!!"
I looked at the human, I could tell this one was different ever since I met them.
"What...what are you doing?"
"Asriel Dreemurr!!!"
I could feel something inside me, was it the monster souls I absorbed? Was it the human souls that I stole? No...it's..
"Chara, do you know why I'm doing this? I'm doing this for you...so we can be together again....I don't want to lose someone like you ever again....!!! So please...just let me win!" I exclaimed, launching a beam of energy at this human. The kid took it head on, barely flinching. Then I could feel the tears in my eyes again...and before I knew it, I was myself again. My regular size, my regular clothes. I smiled a little.
"You're not really Chara...are you? What's your name?...Frisk, huh? Well Frisk...this is goodbye, but I have to return your friends' souls and break the barrier for good." I said, taking a deep breath and relaxing, feeling the countless souls leave me. With that release of power, I even shattered the barrier. Without those souls though, I could feel myself starting to fade. Soon I was going to be a flower again...
Then Frisk hugged me, and I smiled while hugging back. There go the tears again.
"Tell mom and dad I say hi..."
End
