'After years of continuous research and analysis we have finally come to a conclusion. The Love Experiment is completed.'

Jules' heart was beating too fast as she was watching the news. The study had finally been completed and the results had the potency to destroy her life. Getting her marriage approved the first time had been extremely difficult already, not many people willing to be associated with a same-sex marriage.

'We found many interesting things, as that every subject was extremely different in their expressing their love.'

But they had won, they had went through with it and gotten married the day it had become legal. And now they might have to start all over again.

'Over the last couple decades there have been instances where the fact of marriage was abused by people to extort power over others. We hope that the findings of this research will make it more difficult for people to hurt others.'

The theory was nice, but Jules feared the ones that would get hurt because they weren't deemed good enough by society.

'As said before there are many ways for people to express and feel love. And though we don't want to say some are better than others, some are certainly more harming.'

A small hand grasps her bigger one, and her daughter Dae let herself be pulled up and placed on Jules' lap. At least she wouldn't be going through this alone.

'Spending time together, encouraging words, gifts, offering a helping hand and physical touch are the most common forms of showing love to someone else. They are called love languages and people may speak a different one than they hear, so to say.'

Jules wants to release a sigh of relief, if this would be all everything would turn out fine. Her love language is absolutely physical touch and quality time. No one would be able to exclude her based on this.

'But not everyone showed love like this, there were several instances were our researchers even doubted the person was in fact feeling love. Some showed destructive behaviour and others had a more apathetic approach.' 

Her hand tightens around Dae's and from the other side of the room Yuna runs to them. 

'We implore the ministry to prohibit those people from starting a relationship with the goal to be together in a romantic capacity, as the other person(s) are more likely to be harmed beyond repair.'

She wants to cry, her head is heavy on Yuna's shoulder in a tight embrace with Dae between them.

'Though do not fear, as we spoke with many people we also encountered a group of people who say they are on the 'aroace' spectrum. And though they don't feel the romantic love as most of our other subjects, they shouldn't be placed in the same group as the aforementioned ones.'

For the first time since she heard about the Love Experiment Jules feels able to breath in. They were safe, no one would come between them, based on the results of the researchers.
