THE FEELING OF SAND SURROUNDING HER became unbearable. Walking on sand, she could handle, but lying in it. It just got everywhere. She hated it. It made Lila wake up, her eyes squinting at the beaming sun radiating down at her.

She quickly sat up, "Poe? Finn?"

Finn ran towards her, "Lila! Lila are you okay?"

Lila simply nodded, her head was pounding, "Where's Poe?"

Finn stayed silent.

"Finn, where's Poe?"

Finn just gulped and handed Lila the jacket he found in the debris of the TIE Fighter, "I'm sorry. You can keep the jacket if you want."

Lila just shook her head as she stood up, not believing what Finn had just told her. He had already handed her his signature jacket and she clenched her fists as she held it, embracing the leather.

No way. Poe couldn't be dead. Not her Poe. Poe couldn't die. It felt like her whole heart had just shattered into hundreds of pieces.

He was her best friend. Poe Dameron was literally her rock.

"You really cared for him, didn't you?" Finn asked in a small voice.

Lila just nodded as she gave the jacket back to Poe, "It'll suit you more then me. Plus Poe would've wanted you to have it."

Lila began to feel the ground underneath her sink and she wondered if it was just a psychological thing, but then she saw the ground under them literally began to sink.

Finn, in the spur of the moment, grabbed Lila's hand and dragged her away from the ship, "But Poe—" Lila protested.

"We've got to go Lila. I'm sorry." Lila stared out at the sinking ship one more time, before muttering in agreement and following Finn.

They had been walking for hours across the sandy plain and in short terms;

Lila and Finn were extremely dehydrated.

The thirst was becoming unbearable for Lila and Finn. Her mouth was so dry that she couldn't even speak, her voice was so hoarse and scratchy.

Lila squinted then looked into the distance, cupping her hand over her eyes to block the scorching sun.

"Water...Finn, water!"

Finn's face lit up like a small child's face on Christmas. Lila grabbed Finn's arm and dragged him across the desert area completely driven by her need for water.

What she wasn't expecting was for Finn to let go of her grip and run towards a watering hole for Happabore's, ignoring the watering well right next to him which Lila caught site of earlier.

She just started gulping it down as quickly as possibly, as it slowly began to cure her thirst.

But she looked up when she heard the whacking sounds coming from some sort of cane. Lila rose her head from the drinking well and saw a girl just completely wipe out two thugs.

It wasn't the girl that made Lila want to jump for joy.

It was the orange and white one of a kind droid next to her.

What was certainly not expected, was this girl to run up to Finn and hit him round the head with her staff.

"Thief!" The girl exclaimed, her staff aimed at Finn. Lila wiped the stray water of her cheek and jogged over towards Finn and BB-8.

"BB-8!" Lila cheered, running over to the droid, who began beeping in excitement and rolling back and forth.

"The droid says he stole the jacket he's wearing." The girl snapped, her staff still aimed at Finn, then she aimed it at Lila, "And you! How do you know this droid? Did you steal it off someone?"

"What? No of course not!" Lila disagreed.

"The droid says that this jacket belonged to his master." The brunette said.

Lila kneeled down to BB-8's level, "BB-8 it's Poe—he— Poe didn't make it."

BB-8 beeped sadly.

"BB-8 you know I tried as hard as I could, I'm sorry." Lila said softly, the grief beginning to slowly fill her up. Lila then rose up the girls level, as did Finn, brushing the sand off his back. The girl looked down to the badge on Lila's jacket.

"Your with the Resistance?"

Lila was about to answer, but Finn cut in, "Obviously, yeah I am, so's she—"

Lila blinked a couple times, confused.

Why would he lie?

The girl lowered her staff, "I've never met a Resistance fighter before, let alone two..."

"Well this is what we look like. Some of us. Others look different." Lila just stood there, trying not to laugh.

What was Finn trying to prove, really?

"BB-8 says your on a secret mission. That he needs to return to your base."

"Apparently he's carrying a map to Luke Skywalker and everyone's after it." Finn told. The girl widened her eyes at his comment.

"Luke Skywalker? I thought he was just a myth."

Lila just smiled and looked at the ground.

Luke Skywalker was definitely not just a myth.

BB-8 began beeping furiously at two Stormtroopers heading their way, followed by the thugs the girl had beaten up prior to meeting her and Finn.

Finn grabbed both the girls' hands and sprinted towards the tents.

"What are you doing?" The girls exclaimed, gesturing to their hands.

"Come on!" Finn replied still running.

The three ran around all the tents, that were placed literally like a maze.

The Stormtroopers began shooting at them and Finn was starting to freak out, like he did earlier in the TIE Fighter.

Finn let go of the two girls', then looked around, "Does anyone have a blaster around here?" When nobody answered, he huffed and grabbed the girl's hand again.

"Will you stop taking my hand!" The brunette screeched as she began trying to match his pace.

Above them, Lila could hear TIE Fighter's approaching. As she heard them, they began firing.

They fired at the group, sending them flying onto the ground. "Are you guys okay?" Finn asked, pulling himself up.

"Yeah, BB-8 you good?" Lila asked the droid who beeped a yes.

The mysterious girl gets up next to them and extends her hand to Finn, "Yeah." She replied to his question, "You two, follow me."

Lila and Finn got up, doing exactly as she said. She knew Jakku better then them.

They were sprinting around the Nima Outpost and the TIE Fighters were catching up.

"We can't outrun them!" Finn cried.

The girl points to a parked four engine ship, "We might in that quad-jumper!"

"We need a pilot!" Finn pointed out.

"We've got one!" The girl replied back at him.

Finn looked her up and down, "You? Wait— what about that ship?" Finn suggested, pointing.

"That one's garbage."

Stopping their conversation abruptly, the quad-jumper in front of them was blown up by one of the above TIE Fighters.

"Garbage will do!"

Lila looked up at the ship they were talking about and smirked, "That ship is not garbage!"

Sprinting, the group enter the ship and look around. Lila just smiled, remembering the fond memories from when she was a kid.

But there was no time to think about that, the girl her and Finn had met 5 minutes ago was already racing down to the cockpit and Lila felt obliged to follow.

"Gunners position is down there!" She stated to Finn who sat down in the seat.

Lila sat in co-pilot, next the to the girl she still didn't know the name off.

"Y'ever fly this thing?" Finn questioned.

"No! This ship hasn't been flown in years!"

Lila and the girl buckle up, as does Finn.

Shakily, The Millennium Falcon rose up into the sky and flew off.

The engine roared and the Flacon blasts away, leaving the two TIE Fighters chasing after it.

"Stay low!" Finn advised.

The girl looked confused, "What?"

"Stay low! It confuses their tracking!" Finn repeated.

In an instant, the girl let go of the yoke and cants the Falcon.

"Hold on!" She exclaimed, then reached for the switches and grabbed the yoke, which steadied the ship, "I'm going low!" Lila looked uneasy at the girl, who seemed to have a sudden burst of confidence.

The Falcon did an upwards arc, before turning upside down and swooped low across the sand. Lila could see from above her that the two TIE Fighters went straight over their heads.

But then they get hit by a blast.

"Oh god. Finn we're getting hit, fire back!" Lila called out.

"I'm working on it! Are the shields up?"

Lila pressed a few buttons, making sure the shields were in fact up.

Finns shots end up missing, and the TIE Fighters pursue past them.

"We need cover quick!" Finn bellowed.

Lila frantically flicked switches while the girl next to her was doing the best she could to pilot it.

"We're about to get some!" She then mumbled to herself, "I hope."

Finn kept attempting to hit the TIE Fighters and after what seemed like forever, successfully hit one.

"Nice shot!" Lila complimented.

"I'm getting pretty good at this!" Finn hyped.

The TIE Fighter Finn hit exploded in mid air, leaving one TIE Fighter left. The remains TIE Fighter fired, hitting the ship.

"The cannons stuck in forward position! Your gonna have to lose them!" Finn yelled.

Lila began to get worried as they were hit again.

"Get ready!" The girl warned.

Lila furrowed her eyebrows, "What for—"

The ship moves upwards and then into the end of a crashed Super Star Destroyer. The TIE Fighter followed and nearly crashed.

Unlike the Falcon, which turns and grazes one side, sparks flying out of it as it scraped the side.

Just as the TIE Fighter got a lock on the Falcon, the girl yanked the yoke and the Falcon made a sharp right turn out of the Destroyer. The girl stopped the ship and flipped it, so the Falcon was facing the TIE Fighter and wasn't in front of it, giving Finn an easy shot.

Finn shot at it, sending the TIE Fighter crashing down and the three cheer, while BB-8 beeped excitedly.

The Falcon let out one final roar and blasted the hell out of Jakku.
