THE RESISTANCE WERE CURRENTLY GATHERED AROUND THE MAP TABLE.

Unfortunately Poe was right at the front, as was Lila.

Everyone could feel the tension between Lila and Poe.

It was a strange feeling for everyone, these two loved working together and had never argued, so seeing them not even make eye contact made everyone tense.

Leia raised an eyebrow at her daughter and gestured to Poe and Lila ignored her.

"The scan data from Snap's reconnaissance flight confirms Finn's report."

Snap spoke up, "They've somehow created a hyper lightspeed weapon built within the planet itself."

Branch furrowed his eyebrows, "A laser canon?"

"We're not sure how to describe a weapon of this scale." Snap admitted.

Major Ematt gulped, "It's another Death Star."

Poe shook his head, "I wish that were the case, Major."

Poe hit a control and a wireframe of the Death Star appeared.

"This was the Death Star." Poe continued, hitting another button, watching the Death Star keep shrinking down to a tiny size. The Starkiller is bought next to it and it is way way larger, "This is the Starkiller base."

Lila nodded, "So it's big."

Poe glanced at her and blinked a couple times.

Admiral Ackbar was looking at the image fearfully, "How is it possible to power a weapon of this size?"

"It uses the power of the sun. As the weapon is charged, the sun is drained until it disappears." Finn answered.

An officer interrupted the conversation and handed Leia a data card.

"What does it say General?" Lila asked.

"The First Order: they're charging the weapon again, now."

A few sighs and gasps filled the room.

"Oh my. Without the Republic fleet, we're doomed." C-3PO said pessimistically.

"How do we blow it up?" Han asked, everyone stared at him, "There's always a way to do that."

"Han's right." Leia agreed. Lila grinned at her parents.

Hesitantly, Admiral Statura spoke, "In order for that amount of power to be contained, the base would need a thermal oscillator."

"There is one." Finn replied, all eyes turning to him, he pointed to the hologram, "Precinct 47. Here."

Admiral Statura began thinking of a plan, "If we can destroy that oscillator it might de-stabilise the core and cripple the weapon."

Major Ematt nodded, "Maybe the planet."

Poe kept his eyes on the hexagonal object, the oscillator, "We'll go in there and hit that oscillator with everything we got."

"They have defensive shields that our ships cannot penetrate." Admiral Ackbar stated.

"We disable the shields." Han shrugged and turned to Finn, "Kid, you worked there, what do you got?"

"I can do it." Finn assured.

Han smirked, "I like this guy."

"I can disable the shields. But I have to be there, on the planet." Han simply nodded.

"We'll get you there."

Leia furrowed her eyebrows, questioning his response, "Han, how?"

"If I told you, you wouldn't like it." Han replied, shaking his head.

"So we disable the shields, take out the oscillator and we blow up the big gun." Chewie wailed in agreement, "All right! Let's go!"

The group immediately began to dissociate, heading toward their Command bases, ships and what not.

Lila swiftly made her exit from the crowd, not wanting to be confronted by Poe. She can deal with the Poe situation later.

What's the worst that could happen on this mission?

It was risky, sure. But Lila had enough faith in Poe to know that they were both going to be fine.

On the other hand, it would be the first time they hadn't said goodbye to each other before a mission. And that felt weird to Lila.

A grip on her arm made her turn around, her attempt at escaping the room failing. Of course, it was Poe, "Be safe okay?"

That was all he said. He didn't mention the kiss, which felt fitting. They shouldn't throw away the task at hand because of some petty kiss.

"And you Dameron." Lila smiled, before being ushered away to the landing bays, the two not sharing another word.

The quick pace movement inside the Resistance Base made Lila's head whir, so when she finally got outside to the landing bays, it felt like a breath of fresh air.

Lila approached her Dad, Chewie and Finn by the Millennium Falcon. She catches Poe's glance for the last time, as he helped BB-8 into his X-Wing, before hopping in himself.

Han gestured the group inside the ship and began ordering actions as if this was the last time he'd ever do it. The last time he'd ever give instructions to Chewie.

It was a strange feeling.

Everything felt like the last time.

Lila could almost feel that something bad was going to happen.

She knew, whether this feeling was due to the force, or simply just a gut feeling, that it didn't matter because they had a mission that everyone was relying on.

"Chewie, check that donal capitator. Come on— let's go." Finn began fiddling with something, "Finn— be careful with those, they're explosives."

Finn widened his eyes, "Now you tell me?"

Behind them, was Leia, smirking at Han. Leia nodded towards her daughter and Lila smiled, before following Finn onto the ship.

Lila felt in her pocket and sighed when she felt the lightsaber sitting in there.

It had to have been the first mission she'd ever taken it on.

But she knew it was risky and she knew that if she could use it against those Stormtroopers again after all that time, she could sure as hell do it again.

Everyone and everything had been prepared and the Millennium Falcon had been flying for a while now. After a couple of minutes, they hopped into lightspeed and a question popped into Lila's mind.

"How are we getting in?" She asked.

"Their shields have a fractional refresh rate. Keeps anything travelling slower than lightspeed from getting through."

Finn's face filled with dread, "We're gonna make our landing approach at lightspeed?" He exclaimed, like the whole idea was absolutely ludicrous.

Lila looked uncertain too, "Are you sure Dad?"

"I'm always sure sweetheart. You ready?" He asked, flicking a few switches. Han studied the panels around him while waiting for the perfect moment, "And now!" Chewie and Han presses a few buttons and they jarred into lightspeed.

In the blink of an eye, the whole atmosphere had changed, the starry galaxy replaced with a, snowy, tree-filled environment.

Han clearly tried to pull up to control the ship and it's landing, to prevent it from plowing into the trees ahead of them, but he was unsuccessful.

Alarms across the Falcon blared out and Han began attempting to steer, but to no avail. "I get any higher, they'll see us!"

Lila was being practically thrown around in her seat before she felt a crash and fell forward. Yes, they had crashed, but thank god it was snow. The feeling of the ship surfing across the snow lasted for a few seconds, before it came to a complete halt.

Heavy breathing, the group exited the Falcon and began walking across the wide, snowy terrain. There was a black duffle bag full of explosives hung over Chewie's shoulder and Lila clutched the lightsaber beside her as they took cover behind a base structure.

Lila knew it was a disadvantage bringing her lightsaber, she wasn't even fully confident she could use it. That's a liability within itself.

"The flooding tunnels are over that ridge. We'll get in that way." Finn explained.

"What was your job when you were based here?" Han finally asked.

Finn eyed the ground, "Sanitation."

"Sanitation? Then how do you know how to disable the shields?" Han questioned, beginning to look nervous.

"I don't. I'm just here to get Rey."

Lila was taken aback. As much as she wanted to save Rey as well, they had a mission and— well they were relying on Finn.

"People are counting on us! The galaxy is counting on us!" Han snapped.

"Solo we'll figure it out! We'll use the force!"

"That's not how the force works!" The father- daughter duo replied in unison.

Chewie let out a groan, complaining he was cold.

Han looked him up and down, "Oh really— your cold?"

Finn has already began walking away and gestured Han, Chewie and Lila to follow.

"Come on." He called out.

Lila followed him as they entered the base.

Suddenly, out of completely no where, a Stormtrooper was in front of them as the door opened.

"Hey!" The Stormtrooper alerted in its monotone voice. The Stormtrooper began fumbling for his blaster but quick enough Chewie shot first, sending the Stormtrooper flying back.

Chewie ( as subtly as he possibly could ) dragged the body away and out of sight.

"The longer we're here, less luck we're going to have." Han pointed out, "The shields?"

"I have an idea about that." Finn answered, swiftly walking through their base.

Lila squinted at the sight of Chewie shoving Captain Phasma. Chewie wrapped his large arms around the silver Stormtroopers body and forced her to face Finn, Han and Lila, who was slightly behind the two.

"Remember me?" Finn quizzed, smugly.

"FN-2187." She answered coldly.

Finn shook his head, "Not anymore. The names Finn and I'm in charge. I'm in charge now, Phasma. I'm in charge!"

Han leant towards Finn, "Bring it down, bring it down."

Finn slowly brought his blaster away from her face.

"Follow me." Finn said, smiling.

Finn had lead them and Phasma into the Workstation of the base. Phasma was extremely hesitantly on touching any of the controls.

"You want me to blast that bucket off your head? Lower the shields." Finn ordered. Honestly, Lila was surprised at his sudden outburst of confidence.

"Your making a big mistake." Phasma replies simply.

"Do. It." Finn said once more and Phasma finally gave in, hitting the control button that read;

SHIELDS DISABLE INITIATE

Finn began to look uneasy, "Solo's, if this works, we're not gonna have a lot of time to save Rey."

"Don't worry kid." Han began.

Lila nodded in agreement, "We won't leave without her."

A beep could be heard and it read;

SHIELDS DISABLED

"You can't be so stupid as to think this will be easy. My troops will storm this block and kill you all." She spat, a cruel tone in her voice.

"I disagree. What do we do with her?" Finn confided in the group.

Han shrugged, "Is there a garbage chute. A trash compactor?"

Lila smirked, "Oh yeah— that sounds great."

Finn nodded, "Yeah— there is..."

Even though you couldn't see Phasma's face, you could certainly feel the dread and fear that was washing over her right in that moment.

didn't know where to finish this chapter, felt like i needed to post though <3
