(ALL MEMBERS OF LACROSSE TEAM, HOSEOK, PAUL AND RICH ALL SIT IN A CIRCLE FACING EACH OTHER.)

Paul: You understand why we pulled you all in here for group meeting, yes?

NJ: Of course, officer.

SJ: Y-yeah. B-because forensics is going to call back at any tim-

(SUDDENLY, RICH'S PHONE RINGS. HE WHIPS OUT NOTEPAD AND ANSWERS, TAKING NOTES)

Rich (ON PHONE): Yes. Ah, yes. Oh...okay...

JM (BITING LIP): Why doesn't that sound promising...?

(SEOKJIN GIVES NAMJOON A GLANCE)

HS: I'm sure he's just listening hard and trying to keep track of everything. Concentrated doesn't always mean something bad is going to be said-

Rich: We have conflicting evidence.

(PAUL RAISES AN EYEBROW, AND RICH HANDS OVER HIS NOTES. THEY SCRUNTINIZE AND WHISPER FOR A FEW MINUTES)

TH: God...damn it, Jungkook. What if they have something on me? I don't want to go to jail...

JK: It's okay, Tae. If nothing is there, they can't find it. (JUNGKOOK RUBS TAEHYUNG'S BACK)

YG: Confliccccttinnggggg. (YOONGI SIGHS)

JM (WHISPERING TO YOONGI): Fuck, Yoongi--I forgot that two nights ago I got drunk, do you think they'll find the alcohol in my blood test-

YG (TO JIMIN): No babe. It's just-

NJ: I think the conflicting part is probably separating all of the fingerprints out with their digital finger printer. I'm sure there were a bunch of grubby hands touching around that noodle shop-

HS: Are you calling my shop grubby? I'm offended! I clean that place regularly, I'll have you know Namjoon-

SJ: Chill out, Hoseok. You're getting free after this anyway.

HS (GRUMBLING): That's what they tell me...

Paul: Well everyone...he's right. There seems to be a conflict in the evidence and what we have been told during interrogations. It's a bit difficult to find out where exactly the lies stem from...

NJ: Lies?

SJ: What are you talking about?

Rich (GLANCING OVER EVERYONE): Well, from what physical evidence we found, verbal evidence we obtained, and results of the blood test, there are three separate people being suspected. I don't think that is right...there was lying done somewhere along the line.

JK: Three?!

JM: Three separate people?!

TH: WHAT?

HS: How can three people be charged with one dangerous case of battery? Do you two personally think that three people acted on this?

Rich: ...we aren't at liberty to say at the moment...

Paul: Namjoon, why don't we start with you...?

NJ (SITTING UP STRAIGHT): What would you like to know?

Paul: As you have confidence in your own team members and spoke to me about who you think did it, would it be wrong for me to have you reveal this in front of your teammates?

JM: What? Namjoon, you actually think that one of us did this?

TH: Oh god please don't say-

NJ: Seokjin. I have good reason to believe Seokjin committed this crime.

(JIN BLINKS, REMAINING SILENT)

Rich: Okay...

YG: Why?

NJ (PAUSES): Well, he was talking to me earlier, and he said that he made a mistake. You see, Jin's father works for a very large business--ahem, he is the CEO of a very important pharmaceutical business, and recently a huge business woman invested in the competitor's pharmaceutical business...

Paul: Yes, go on. Mention the why and the how.

NJ: Well, Seokjin recognized Violeta once she stepped foot in the building. When she was acting mean, he thought that this might be the massive investor in the other company, and-

JM: And he got mad enough to beat her to death? Come on, we all know Jin-

Paul: Continue, Namjoon.

NJ (LOOKS AT JIMIN): Jin thought he might just roughen her up. Y'know, maybe distract her with some medical bills, take her mind off of investing in the opposite company-

JK: My ass! That's bullshit! Unless...(HE LOOKS AT JIN) Is that really true, Jin?

SJ (MUMBLING) ...Yeah. But I only meant to hit her once, I--I don't know why I couldn't stop hitting her...

YG: Hmmm...

Paul: You see, all of this is unchanging. All of what Namjoon said to me then is the same as it is now, and Seokjin confirmed it. But!

TH: But? I don't like the sound of that...(TH holds JK's hand under table)

Rich: But the evidence doesn't line up with that. The fingerprints on the sticks and the evidence found in the bags...it points out three separate individuals.

TH: What if...what if those three aren't the criminals though? What if you're missing something, or-

Paul: We aren't missing anything. We checked everything in the last few hours. The blood tests, the evidence, the interrogations. It's all been completed. 

JK: ...completed? Okayyyyy...who are the suspects, then? Please tell me I'm not one of them-

Rich (TO PAUL): Are we at liberty to-

Paul: I don't see why not-

NJ: No, keep that information to yourselves. It might damage the team if we-

JM: Namjoon, shut up! You're the one who framed Seokjin for what reason? Yeah, Seokjin says he killed her by accident but like--dude! Why would you go to Paul and tell him that without telling us first? Talk about a bad leader! Oh shoot, I'm sorry for making a scene.

YG: Scene...?

JM: Ugh, Yoongs--everyone hates me now-

TH: We don't hate you guys-

HS (POINTING AT JUNGKOOK AND TAEHYUNG): Yeah like, uh, are you two together now?

JK (BLUSHING): What does that have to do with the question?

TH (SMILING BRIGHTLY): Fuck yeah, he's my boyfriend now!

SJ: ...

NJ: ...o-oh, that's nice. 

Paul (SERIOUS): Let's save relationship talk for the future, please. Now, I'll reveal the suspects...

YG: Don't.

(JIMIN SCOOTS CLOSER TO YOONGI, HOLDS HIM TIGHTLY)

JM: It's okay, Yoongs...we all know if one of us is named that we didn't do it. That's why they're called suspects...

TH: Fuck, why am I so nervous-

SJ: You can go ahead, Paul.

Paul (LOOKING AROUND): Okay, I'll explain then. Please remain silent while I go through each suspect and why I think they may be responsible for this crime. 

Rich: If any of you have questions, leave them for the end please.

JK: ...okay...

(PAUL CLEARS THROAT, STANDING UP FROM CHAIR. ALL 7 BOYS STARE AT HIM INTENSELY)

Paul: Our first suspect...based on past experiences, the circumstances of this situation, some physical evidence, and the mysteries surrounding his intentions-

JM: Oh no-

Paul: Min Yoongi. 

Yoongi: ...

(JIMIN HOLDS ONTO THE BOY TIGHTLY. YOONGI WATCHES PAUL CLOSELY)

Paul: Next...based on my own observations with which this person has been acting. The characteristics of an intricate planner-

NJ: No, you can't be-

Paul: Yes, Namjoon. I'm serious. You are one of the suspects because of how intensely you wanted to work with me despite it being against your friends. I understand the whole justice thing, but to frame Seokjin-

NJ: TO FRAME? HE CONFESSED!

SJ: ...I confessed-

Rich: We understand that. Please let us explain the third case.

(NAMJOON CLENCHES JAW, SQUEEZING FISTS UNDER THE TABLE)

Paul (SIGHING): And this third suspect, based on evidence of the blood test...has shown strange results that could be taken as a possible cause for aggression-

TH: Damn it! Why am I always singled out-

Paul: Jeon Jungkook. We found very, and I mean very high levels of testosterone in your bloodstream--steroid-taking is clearly the cause. Everyone knows what the side effects of taking too many of those are...

TH: WHAT?!

JK: W-what? I d-don't...know what you're talking a-about...

(JUNGKOOK STARTS SHAKING, TAKING TAEHYUNG'S HANDS IN HIS OWN)

Paul: And the rest of you, even though you are not considered suspects of this crime does not mean you are off the hook. You may be considered an accomplice after future investigations and you will still be asked questions to clarify your positions-

SJ: But I confessed!

HS: So I'm off the hook?

JM: This isn't right...

TH: What will happen next?

(PAUL FROWNS, LOOKING AT SEVEN BOYS IN TURN)

Paul: Since this is a murder trial...the three that are suspects and the one that confessed will stay here at the station under our custody. The rest are free to return home. 

JK: WHAT!

SJ: Oh...

TH: Uhh...what if you don't have a home to return to-

JM: Taehyung, you can stay over at my house-

NJ: This is unfair! I demand to know why I'm being forced to stay against my will-

Rich: Quiet Namjoon.

(NAMJOON SULKS, CROSSING ARMS. SEOKJIN LOOKS OVER AT HIM APOLOGETICALLY)

YG: Evidence?

(PAUL NODS SLOWLY)

Paul: You're asking about the physical evidence that might have incriminated you? Well, it wasn't the fingerprints on the murder weapon. All of your prints but Hoseok's and Seokjin's were found on the murder weapon.

(SEOKJIN FLUSHES DRAMATICALLY)

Paul: But Yoongi, in your individual bag there were prescription meds that we're still looking into to see if they had an effect on the situation. Plus, knowing your history and countenance, it's only fair that we see you in a different light-

JM: That's so unfair! You're blaming him based on his past! That drug wasn't even present in his bloodstream and it's not even-

YG: Jimin.

(JIMIN GRITS TEETH, SCRATCHING AT HIS FACE IN IRRITATION)

Rich: Okay...any last questions before we send each of you to your respective places? It's getting late, we'll resume the investigation tomorrow.

(TAEHYUNG LOOKS AT JUNGKOOK, EXPECTING HIM TO ASK A QUESTION. JUNGKOOK REMAINS SILENT, STARING AT TABLE)

HS: Am I off the hook, then? I obviously didn't know a murder was going to happen at my restaurant-

TH & JM: No.

Rich (STANDING UP FROM CHAIR): No, Hoseok. You were still present at the crime scene. We can't change the facts.

HS: Hmmph. Fine.

Paul (MOTIONING TO DOOR): Those who haven't been deemed a suspect, you're free to go.

(TAEHYUNG HUGS JUNGKOOK BEFORE STANDING UP. YOONGI SQUEEZES JIMIN'S HAND, SHARING AN INTENSE LOOK. HOSEOK CLEARS HIS THROAT AND STRAIGHTENS HIS SHIRT)

JM: Come on, Taehyung. I guess you're staying with me tonight.

TH: Yeah...(TURNS AROUND TO JUNGKOOK) Bye, Kook. Think of me when you get sad, okay? See you tomorrow.

JK: Bye Tae.

NJ: Fuck this.

SJ: It's okay, Joon. It'll be straightened out soon.

Paul: That's right...

(RICH CHAPERONES THREE BOYS OUT DOOR)

Paul: It will all be solved soon...
