Chapter 4

"Well, maybe this guy can take us to Atlantis," replied Bruce to my previous statement. Suddenly, the Aquaman pushed Bruce against the wall in anger.

"Arthur Curry," spoke up Bruce in a choked voice. Arthur brought him down, and Bruce continued.
"Also known as the protector of the Oceans. The Aquaman," finished Bruce as the Aquaman had put him down.
"I hear you can talk to fish," Bruce finished by saying that of all things.

"So let me get this straight... You do it dressed like a bat? Like an actual bat?" Spoke Aquaman. The three of us were walking to towards the ocean, and Arthur would not stop looking at me. It was getting somewhat creepy and the people were also looking at me with either awe or jealousy.
"It's worked for 20 years in Gotham," replied Bruce. I laughed to myself and questioned what Bruce was thinking.
"Oh, that shithole," replied Aquaman. Arthur rolled his eyes in annoyance and looked towards me again. I was still looking down while I was walking, I didn't feel as though I had a part in this conversation.
"The fight comes, we'll need you," spoke up Bruce. All jokes aside, it was now time for all of us to become serious about the situation. The person who wants to destroy this earth is coming soon, and Bruce and I both knew that we needed his help.
"Don't count on it, Batman and Gorgeous," replied Arthur. He sent a wink in my direction, making me look back towards the ground.
"Why not?" I spoke up. I whispered it, but it seemed that
"Because I don't like you coming here... digging into my business, getting into my life.
People from Atlantis tell me, "Do this." Now, you say, "Do that." I want to be left alone," spoke Arthur. He looked like he was in pain, and I knew that this discussion was going to be over soon.
"That why you help these people out here in the middle of nowhere? Because you can just leave?" replied Bruce. He did have a point, but I thought that him helping these people is something that a hero would do.
"I help them 'cause no one else does," replied Arthur.

"That's noble," I told him with a small smile on my face. He smiled back at me, and it was a moment shared between both of us.
"You wanna protect them, you need to work with me," spoke Bruce right after what I said. The smile on Arthur's face dropped almost immediately, make me giggle to myself at how comical it was.
"A strong man is strongest alone. You ever heard that?" finished Arthur. He started to take his shirt off and I looked away in respect. Though all I wanted to do was see what was under all those layers of clothing.

"That's not true and you know it. What are those cubes?" I replied while looking up at him. I didn't hear what Arthur had said since I was too busy looking at the tattoos on his body. When he saw me looking at him, he winked towards me with a smirk on his face.
"Mankind's melting the polar ice caps... Destroying the ecosystem, they got it coming?" spoke Bruce. He looked done with this conversation, and to be fair, I think Arthur was going to leave soon.
"Hey, I don't mind if the ocean rises," replied Arthur. I laughed to myself and I started to walk away.
"Dressed like a bat. You're out of your mind, Bruce Wayne," yelled out Arthur when they finished speaking.

"You look so good walking away from me, I promise I will see you later gorgeous," finished Arthur. Then as quick as he said that, he dived into the ocean, and swam away.
