Chapter 6 - Second floor?

The next day, it was as if everything went back to normal. The Monokuma announcement went off as usual in morning.

"You can't make me get out of bed." Akira pointed.

"I can't do this without you, Kira." Tsuki sat at the end of the bed.

"Why are you in here?" Akira blinked.

"I'm everywhere."

"But why?" Akira flopped onto the floor.

"No- Taka, help." Tsuki fell onto the ground with her.

"I heard my name." Taka burst in.

"Get her to move, please?" Tsuki tugged on her friend's arm.

"Miss Satoshi, it is time for breakfast." Taka pulled her to her feet.

"Listen to the big guy." Tsuki nodded.

"Big guy?" Akira raised a brow.

"I don't know, he's tall."

"You're just small." Akira rolled her eyes,"I've seen taller."

"Mmm... No." Tsuki pushed Akira,"Move."

"Fine, I'm moving." Akira crossed her arms and started walking.

"Thank you, Mr Taka." Tsuki smiled.

"It is no issue, Miss Kubota." Taka nodded.

"You're my waking up guy." Tsuki patted his back and skipped off.

"I embrace all labels and nicknames." Taka walked after her.

"Good." Tsuki hummed.

"Hurry up." Akira was stood by the door,"You wake me up but then take forever?"

"I'm talking to my nice friend.' Tsuki grabbed Akira's hand.

"I have a nice friend that I'd like to be talking to." Akira pouted.

"I know, I know." Tsuki sighed.

"She's probably in there." Akira went to turn towards the dining hall.

"She's not.' Tsuki shook her head.

"How do you know?" Akira asked.

"Do you want me to check?"

"Oh, alright." Akira nodded slowly.

Tsuki took a deep breath and walked to the bathroom, opening the door slightly and poked her head in. Nothing. Sayaka was gone. There was no evidence she'd ever been there. Tsuki sighed and closed the door, turning around and walked back to Akira.

"So?"

"Sayaka isn't there." Tsuki shrugged.

Akira nodded. She wasn't referring to her or even her bathroom but she was glad she wasn't still in there.

"Right, let's go."

"Been waiting for you."

"Don't go on." Tsuki shook her head and walked.

"I will." Akira shrugged.

"Morning." Tsuki sighed to everyone once they walked in.

"Good morning!" Hina smiled.

"You're cheery." Tsuki waved.

"Just trying to boost the moral." She chuckled nervously.

"Kirigiri-san?" Akira looked around.

Kyoko was over in the corner drinking some tea.

"If you'll excuse me." Akira hummed and headed over.

Tsuki rolled her eyes and skipped over to Chihiro. Kyoko looked at Akira as she wandered over.

"Good morning, Tsuki." Chihiro smiled up at her.

"Morning Chihiro, How'd you sleep?" Tsuki sat beside her.

"Well, I've slept better." She admitted.

"As have I... I really hope no more killings happen.' Tsuki sighed.

"I hope so too."

"I won't kill, I doubt you will." Tsuki chuckled.

Chihiro smiled,"Don't worry, I trust you."

"I trust you too." Tsuki nudged her.

Chihiro looked to the side, hiding her smiling face.

"Morning Akira." Kyoko looked up at Akira.

"Good morning." Akira stood beside Kyoko,"How are you?"

"That's good to hear."

"And you?" Kyoko sipped her tea.

"Eh, decent, I suppose." Akira shrugged.

Kyoko nodded slowly, "How are you dealing with... The whole Sayaka thing?"

Akira sighed,"I've lost before, you just learn to deal with things."

"I understand.' Kyoko nodded.

Akira sat down, fiddling with her fingers.

"Would you like one?" Kyoko handed her a coffee cup.

"Oh, yes please." Akira smiled.

Kyoko handed it over and drank her own.

"Thank you." Akira hummed.

"So everyone is okay after yesterday's events?" Taka spoke up.

"We're holding up." Hina nodded.

"I'm glad. But alas, it cannot be helped." Celeste sighed.

Mondo leaned back in his chair,"The heck are we supposed to do now?"

"Go back to normal, I assume." Sakura shrugged.

"There is no 'normal' here." Byakuya rolled his eyes.

"Where's he going?" Hiro looked at him.

"Who cares about him? He's just a downer." Akira crossed her arms.

"Agreed." Tsuki smiled.

"Let's just forget about him- Wait, where's the writer gone?" Akira looked around.

"Let's just forget about him- Wait, where's the writer gone?" Akira looked around.

"Huh?" Mondo looked.

Just as she said, Toko was nowhere to be seen.

"Chasing Byukuya most likely." Celeste hummed.

"Ew." Mondo shook his head.

"Can you not tell? Toko follows him about a lot." Hina shuddered.

"She's, um, a little on the strange side." Sakura agreed.

"That's an understatement.' Tsuki muttered.

"Now let's not be too judgemental.." Taka began.

Tsuki just gave him a look.

"Admit it, she's fucking bonkers." Mondo scoffed.

"I wouldn't say that she's just... Different." Taka shrugged.

"Taka, you're a nice guy... But she's not worth it." Akira shook her head.

Taka sighed and sat down.

"Right, no more Monokuma announcements? I'm off to bed." Tsuki waved.

"Already?" Chihiro asked.

"I'm a tired woman." Tsuki stretched.

"Not so fast!" Monokuma popped up.

Tsuki jumped back, "What the- Stop doing that!"

"Hm, no!" Monokuma laughed,"Anyway, since you guessed the killer right last time, I've decided to give you a reward!"

Tsuki looked back at the others in confusion.

"A... Reward?" Kyoko raised a brow.

"What reward?' Mondo asked.

"I've opened up the second floor for you guys." Monokuma grinned.

"Really?" Hina gasped.

"Really."

"... What are you waiting for? Come on!" Hina pulled Sakura.

"Relax, Hina. I'm coming." She assured her.

"How many floors do you think this place has?" Hiro asked.

"There's five in total." Monokuma told him.

"Five- Oh my god!" Hifumi gasped.

"That's, uh, a lot of floors." Taka nodded.

"Can I see it in the morning?" Tsuki tried to leave.

"It is the morning." Chihiro whispered.

"Then... Later tonight?"

"You really are adamant about going back to bed, huh?" Celeste hummed.

"For some reason I feel really tired." Tsuki sighed.

"What time did you fall asleep?" Hina asked.

Tsuki looked at the clock and squinted her eyes, "What time does he wake us up?"

"Uh, seven, I believe." Hifumi told her.

"Oh... Yeah, I didn't sleep." Tsuki shook her head.

"Gee, I wonder why you're tired." Mondo scoffed.

"Leave me alone, I couldn't... Not after last night."

"That one did just fine." Mondo poked Akira's face.

"Mr Owada, be shush."

"Right, let's go check this floor out." Sakura sighed.

"I'm on it." Taka nodded, marching out of the hall.

"I'll come but then I'm sleeping." Tsuki held onto Chihiro.

"I'll take you back to your room." She smiled softly.

"Thank you." Tsuki hummed.

"It's no p-"

"Okay, lovebirds. Let's go." Akira winked.

"Lovebirds? Shut up." Tsuki pointed.

"Never!" Akira dashed down the hall.

Tsuki groaned and walked after her with Chihiro.

"Lovebirds, huh?" Hina chuckled.

"Shut it." Tsuki warned.

"But it's cute." Hina hummed.

"We're not lovebirds." Chihiro chuckled.

"Are you absolutely sure?" Hina asked.

"Hina, leave the girls be." Sakura sighed.

"Thank you, Sakura." Chihiro smiled.

"But-"

"No buts." Sakura picked her up.

Tsuki covered her mouth and laughed.

"Okay, it's not funny." Hina pouted.

"It is." Tsuki laughed and skipped off.

"Consider this their revenge." Sakura nodded.

"Aw." Hina sighed.

"Come on." Sakura chuckled, gently sitting her down.

Meanwhile upstairs everyone was having a look around.

"Ooh, what's in here?" Akira pushed open a door, she could already smell the chlorine.

"Oh my god, a pool!" Hina gasped and jumped.

Akira hissed and hid behind her.

"Oh Akira, isn't it great?' Hina smiled.

"No!" Akira rapidly shook her head.

"Why not?' Hina dropped her smile.

"I can't swim.." She mumbled.

"You can't?"

"Nope."

"Why not?" Hina turned to her.

"W-what do you mean 'why not'? I never learned." Akira pointed.

"Oh! I can teach you." Hina smiled.

"I, uh, I think I'll pass." Akira nodded slowly.

"Your loss." Hina shrugged.

"I'll leave you to this." Akira backed off.

"Bye bye!" Hina waved.

"Yeah, bye."

"You scared of water?" Tsuki smirked as Akira walked out.

"I'm not scared!" Akira crossed her arms,"I just can't swim."

"I can help ya." Tsuki shrugged.

"No."

"You've helped me before."

"No offense, Tsu... But I'd drown."

"Eh, I tried." Tsuki hummed.

"Whatever you say." Akira sighed.

"Come on, let's go see what else is about." Tsuki grabbed her hand.

"I'm coming."

"Slow poke." Tsuki laughed and walked into a room where they were met with... Byukuya?

"What are you doing in here?" Akira asked the boy who was sat reading.

"Are you blind?" Byukuya raised a brow.

"Kinda." Akira nodded,"Oh, are you hiding from the weirdo?"

"Toko... Yes." Byukuya shook his head.

"I'm going to need to save you from her." Akira pointed.

"I'm quite alright." He shook his head again.

"If you say so." Akira rolled her eyes.

"This is big." Tsuki wandered around the library.

"Very smart, using a lamp cause it's dark as hell too." Akira pointed out.

"That is why I grabbed it.' Byukuya nodded.

Akira nodded slowly, sitting on the desk and noticing he was using an extension cord. The plug must not have reached.

"Where'd ya get this from?" Tsuki asked him.

"There's a cupboard in the back." Byakuya shrugged.

"Tsuki!" Akira whisper shouted to her, pointing to the door.

Tsuki turned to Akira and walked to the door. Toko. Toko was stood there watching the three of them.

"Oh... Good morning Toko." Tsuki crossed her arms.

Toko jumped,"S-shush, you'll blow my cover."

"You're not very hidden.."

"Yeah, I could see you a mile off." Akira pointed.

"S-shut up!" Toko pointed.

"Hey." Byakuya glared at Toko,"Go take a shower, I can smell you from here."

"W-what?" Toko turned to him.

"You heard me. Scram." He didn't change his expression.

Toko blinked before she quickly scurried out.

"Thank god for that." Akira sighed

"I'm sorry you have her to deal with." Tsuki patted Byukuya's back as she walked to the other room.

"What do we have here?" Akira looked around.

"A room with... A bunch of records."

"Hm, they look... Important." Akira bit her lip.

"You know these?' Tsuki looked back Byukuya.

"Course I do." He nodded,"Best not look, they're police reports in there."

"So?"

"Very graphic stuff, unsolved cases, well, in the eyes of the law." Byakuya shrugged,"I've read through them all before, solved the cases."

Tsuki thought for a second, "Is it cases around the world or just here?"

"Around the world."

"Interesting.' Tsuki hummed.

"Yeah, Interesting.." Akira nodded slow.

"And just why have you read all of them?" Tsuki turned her head to him.

"My family has a copy of them, of course. They're one if the the families who run the world." Byakuya smirked.

Tsuki walked out of the room,"Really?"

"Really." Byakuya nodded.

Tsuki hummed and nodded, flipping through the page of a book.

"Wonder if my files are in here." Akira wondered.

"Same here.' Tsuki muttered.

"Now I really wanna know." She rapidly pulled out files,"Nope, not mine. Who the heck does that with scissors?"

"Scissors?" Tsuki leaned over.

"Lookie!" Akira showed her the page.

"What the.." Tsuki blinked as she read.

"Genocide Jack, huh?" Akira raised a brow.

"That's a weird name." Tsuki chuckled.

"Exactly. That's the name they chose?" Akira out the file back.

"Wait, I wanna see this one." Tsuki leant up for one.

"Lemme see."

Tsuki tilted her head, "Oh, ours are in here."

"Wait, gimme that a sec." Akira grabbed the file.

Tsuki turned to Akira, "Yeah sure, take it."

Akira scanned it,"They're missing a body."

"What?"

"My oldest brother. His body isn't there." Akira told her, flicking through the pages again.

"He's not?" Tsuki looked at the book.

"Nope."

"Why?... He did die, didn't he?"

"They told me he did."

"So why do you think he isn't confirmed?"

"God knows." Akira put it away.

"Maybe they just forgot him." Tsuki suggested.

"Probably." Akira nodded slowly.

"Eh, let's keep looking on this floor." Tsuki shrugged.

"Alright." Akira hummed.

The girls then left Byukuya in the library before they explored the rest of the floor. Akira was deep in thought. Why wasn't Volcan there?

"So... More classrooms, that's it." Tsuki poked her head into the classrooms.

"You can go sleep now." Akira nudged her playfully.

Tsuki gasped as she remembered,"Oh yes!"

She turned and quickly ran off.

"Dumbass." Akira chuckled.
