Vulnerable she was,totally uncovered
When she found the obscure land of love
Although she knew the future was bleak
Her poor heart still skipped a beat.

The new found feeling was joyous
Influencing , in a mysterious way
She decided to savour each part,
Hiding it in a certain chamber of heart.

Every heartbeat reminded her of the unsung song
Every breath , prolonged.
It was an obsession ,
a particular sense of possession.

She continued to live in the bliss,
Oblivious to the upcoming abyss.
There came an intruder capable of shattering her fantasy
The now familiar affection was replaced with aversion.

The fear of abandonment hooked her
She was too fragile to withstand the jolt
She fought , she defended her love, not ready to relinquish
Nothing seemed to justify her since love was her nemesis..

There is a good news..  'HOPE' secured first place in the contest by thecreativecorner_ in poetry section.
