Our story begins on South Island. This island is known for being a treasure trove of ruins and gems. Amongst these gems are the Chaos Emeralds, six gemstones with enough power to bring energy to all living beings, or power nuclear and laser weapons through science and technology.

However, nobody really knows how to obtain these gems. This is because South Island is a moving island, with the Chaos Emeralds existing within natural distortions on the island.

One day, danger comes upon South Island...

A Pocky, one of the critters, is shown mingling with the others. For now, we will call him... Y/n. They ran around in the grass, racing the other pockies. Y/n bolted out past the rocks, hopping past the rocks inside the ground and seeing the water splash against the rocks, it was amazing. The fresh feeling of freedom and adventure. The other Pockey rushed forward and leaped over a pond, as Y/n followed right after, snickering about the speed they were going compared to them. Y/n looked ahead and saw a mud puddle and quickly avoided it, running against the walls to make it to the finish line. But before he could cross, a splash was heard. Y/n turned to see the critter had fallen in the mud and couldn't move. Y/n quickly rushed back, slowly sinking in the mud, but managing to slowly pull himself and the other out. They limped over to the finish line, as Y/n threw Pocky over and laid on the ground, tired.

The other critters came in to check on them, when they felt something change...

A pod is seen floating in the distance. Though behind it, countless robots were seen storming the wildlife and destroying it. Drills are planted and activated, throwing debris all across the area. The critters cry out and run away, trying to stay safe. They saw their home slowly get destroyed, and slowly crippled the lands.

This was the work of the human mad scientist, Dr. Ivo Robotnik. He landed on the island with his minions. He's come to hunt things with the power of science. Pn his HUD, showing a map of the area, including the current area and where his huge fortress on one corner of the island is. While developing on it in the background, today marks the day when he also begins hunting the Chaos Emeralds to use their incredible power. He's started declaring that he will find them even if he has to dig up the entire island.

However, he's had a few... ants in the road. With Y/n, Y/n saw one of the robots approach. Y/n looked at the robot with no fear, yet put everyone behind him. Y/n raised his paws and tried to kick the robot away. However, it was no use. Two more robots showed up, and Y/n ran across the grass, trying to use his ears to punch harder. But the robot grabs his ears, opening its center hatch, planning to store him inside. The springs and metal wiring did alert Y/n to danger. Before he could be fully taken away, the Pocky from before tried to fight back, but was taken instead, with Y/n being tossed back into the dirt. The Pocky screamed as the robots started to suddenly gain more powerful by having the critters in. Y/n started to get worried, pointing at the others to run away. Suddenly, a bunch of critters ran across the wooden bridge in hopes to escape, but they were stopped. Several types of robots were seen on both sides, swooping in and kidnapping the animals and powering the robots up. Y/n, seeing all of his friends getting attacked, rushed to try and fight, but was knocked off the bridge and thrown into the water. The drilling activity made the cliff unstable as rocks fell into the water, narrowly avoiding Y/n until one slammed into his head, sending the Pocky into a deep slumber and darkness. That was until the rock started shining blue. The heartbeat of Y/n's started to resonate with the rock until a bright blue light came out and overtook the sea.

Sometime later, the water is shown on a coast. The water brushed against the sands, pulling the tide back as a figure is seen holding one of the Chaos Emeralds, washed up against the beach.   They are a tall, slender, blue mobian rabbit with a small black nose and black eyes. The fur on his head flares out into two points at the back. He's shown with white gloves and boots... then he stirred.

Shaking his head, he looked around at the site. He couldn't ponder much but had a hard time standing up straight. He fell over into the water, not realizing his new transformation, he looked down, realizing it was Y/n. Oh my... it was him! It was you! He couldn't believe he had weird gloves that held his fingers and stood up on two legs. He wobbled, raising one leg too high and not balanced in his legs. He fell into the sand, but not giving up yet, he kept trying and trying until he was eventually moving as fast as he used to.

He may be moving a little faster... No, a lot, a lot faster!!

Y/n was zooming through the area while having a smile on his face. He used his ears to help him drift. Through, they stretched longer than how they usually did. Y/n smiled, using his fists clenched and throwing them forward, having the ear in a fist and doing the same. Y/n wonders about all the proprieties of it, playing jump rope with it, seeing how far they can grow bigger and extend. He heard commotion above the Green Hill and immediately leaped in the air, using his ears... to spin in a spring way. When Y/n came back down, he shot up even higher and made his way to the danger.

(Act 1)

Y/n starts on a straightforward path that first features log bridges, a small ramp, and an upward-going hill with two Crabmeats. Y/n quickly rushed forward and picks up some debris and throws them at one of the bad nicks, freeing the animals. Y/n quickly breaks open a container of rings and throws it at a flying badnik in the distance. He sees a spring hidden inside of the trees and leaps on it, taking him shooting upwards and having him see the area from afar and how far the Mad Doc has gotten. He soared forward, kicking a robot down to bounce off of it and into the distance, passing the wooden bridge where everything went down. He hopped against the terrain, avoiding the shots of the flying badniks and using his ears to grab two and slam them together, leaping on one to shoot the crabmeats away and land on the ground. He then span a rock with his hands and threw it at the badnik. He snickered thinking he was done, but then a fish came out from under the bridge, almost taking a bite out of him. He quickly avoided the two and moved on. 

He did a cartwheel in the air before leaping with the spring motion he did before and shooting off the spring to get every higher air time, but he soon fell down after a waterfall. He yelled out and waved his arms in hopes of not having this be his end. He quickly grabbed his terrain to his side and slowly slowed his descent. His fur brushed by the tail and he sighed with relief, he arched his back and fired forward. He hit an invincible monitor on the way and leaped back up to the path before. He passed by a lamppost and sped by the center loop, going down into a tunnel and getting even more speed.

He suddenly gets sent high into mid-air by a small ramp. In the mid-air, a huge amount of Rings are floating, and Y/n quickly uses his ears to capture them. He then falls on the higher pathway on top of the hill with a single log bridge. The lower pathway had several spike and Badnik placements, which Y/n quickly blew past and it leads him straight to the end of the Zone.

Y/n passed by a sign and it span, quickly showing Y/n's face. Y/n snickered and crossed his hands and ears with a smile. He then took off.

Y/n is seen damaging badniks and rescuing the critters. He couldn't see everything and quickly was saved by a blue flash. Y/n was confused until he saw someone in the dust with gloves, releasing a critter with a smile. The dust cleared and it was the Blue Hedgehog, Sonic! He seemingly arrived here for the first time and saved the young hero. Through, they were, appearance-wise, the same age.

They both looked at each other, mirroring each other moves. One did a pose, and the other followed. One did an attack, and the other followed. They both were amazed until they were surrounded, Y/n was indifferent about them now but Sonic simply stretched and then took off, quickly dealing with the robots by curling up in a ball and dishing them out with impact. When another wave came out, Y/n walked forward and grunted, pushing his ears to extend before spinning them around and destroying all the bots.

Sonic pat Y/n on the back before Y/n held up a device, as Ivo was yelling at them all. Sonic seemed to recognize him and realized Y/n was after the same guy. Sonic tapped his shoulder and showed a big grin pointing to the distance. Y/n nodded with a cocky smirk of his own, pounding his fist and ears into the other and taking off in a blue flash. Sonic smiles and takes off as well.

(Act 2)

Sonic and Y/n both begin their newly partnered journey together. They both take off past the rock and destroy the robots coming from underneath the bridge. They quickly see robots below and leap off of the bridge and slam into some crabmeats. Sonic leaps on a tree which grants him access to a monitor, which breaks and grants him a Shield. Sonic leaps on a moving log to get him to the other side, looking back and smirking at Y/n. Y/n simply tapped his foot impatiently and used his ears to grab two trees. He then sped back and launched himself into the distance and taunted Sonic. Sonic smirked and went up a hill, though his foot slipped and he went backward. He quickly curled in a ball to protect himself from most damage, going back so far, he slammed into a monitor for faster speed.

Sonic smiled and took off, leaping above the spikes and defeating some robots with cloaking abilities, passing a waterfall in the background. Sonic leaped span into the air and hopped through the moving pillars to not land on the spike fields.

Y/n is seen traveling through a large hill and another waterfall with a log bridge where the route again splits into two paths. However, Sonic caught up and the two raced each other to the finish line, which led them into a curling tunnel and the end of the Act.

(Act 3)

Y/n sees an invincible monitor in a tree and goes to grab it, but Sonic runs up the tree and snickers at Y/n, he hits it and speeds across the spike field. Y/n smiled and latches his ears to the trees and slingshot himself to the higher route. He bounced off the flying badnik and punched a Shield Monitor hidden in the tall grass. He looked to see how fast Sonic rushed ahead, but couldn't see him. Y/n rushed head and slid under a motorbug to destroy it before spinning and throwing the pieces of rubble at its co-oppressors. Y/n then gripped a piece of metal and slid down the route to the lower one, passing by a star post.

Electricity was heard sparking as Y/n's ears flicked upward to see the sound. Y/n looked and saw ten shots of energy being thrown at him. Y/n waved his arms before looking around and smiling. He used his ears to lift himself in the air and block two attacks with his metal skateboard. He then let go and span the board, cutting through two badniks, he then was upside down. The ears latched back onto the ground and gave Y/n a sharp way down, allowing him to cut down the badnick and go flying over the curling spiked logs, trying to keep a steady balance across. He eventually threw the board at the badniks in the distance and started to run again, keeping light on his feet, leaping onto a badnik and aiming it at the others, destroying them and passing underneath the water. He saw Sonic trying to platform to reach the top, but Y/n waved to him and went off to the starpost. Sonic and Feels then ran over to the distance.

Y/n was confused, looking around the area at the hovering sound. Sonic held his chin before seeing Ivo in his mobile hovering down, angry at seeing the blue pest. His glasses slightly tilted off his face before his face grew red, Y/n glared at him, while Sonic simply seemed unimpressed with the Egg-shaped man. Eggman quickly took out a wrecking ball and started to swing it at fast speeds. Y/n was launched back into a tree, not understanding it, losing some rings. Sonic quickly leaped onto one of the floating platforms and hit the hovercraft, quickly leaping back so he wouldn't get hit. Y/n shakes his head comically before glaring and digging his hands into the earth. He then threw it at the hovercraft, just as Ivo is laughing at Sonic being sent back. Sonic came back and hit it once more. Ivo was suddenly ambushed when Y/n leaped into the air and punched the hovercraft as well.

Ivo quickly started to run but Sonic and Y/n nodded and chased after him. Ivo started to drop mines, which Y/n uses his ears to get a double jump and throw Sonic at the hovercraft again. Robotnik tried the mine trick again, but Sonic was thrown through the mines and still hit him. Robotnik was getting frustrated and started to drop a bunch of mines with the wrecking ball coming down from above. Sonic was almost crushed but Y/n grabbed him and leaped in the air, landing on the wrecking ball. The wrecking ball hit the mines and sent it back towards Robotnik, allowing Y/n and Sonic two more attacks on the Egg Wrecker. Suddenly, the chain exploded with the wrecking ball. Dr.Robotnik started to get worried and sweated, he quickly flew away as a capsule full of animals was inside. Sonic smirked and pointed his thumb up, Y/n nodded and lowered his ears. He then caught Sonic's run into an attack and threw him upwards, thus freeing all the animals inside of it and completing the Zone.

Sonic smirked and patted him on the back again, Y/n did fighting motions, causing the two to laugh. Y/n held up the Chaos Emerald and looked at Green Hill. Sonic seemed curious about it but called for him to keep moving. Y/n nodded and sped off with Sonic to the next zone.

(A/n: I'm experimenting with something here. If you don't see any dialogue, it's because the era/game doesn't have any. There will be some dialogue, but not early on! Anyways, the earlier games will have a shorter chapter compared to the others later on! I hope you enjoyed the small start!)
