Chapter 10: Numb Without You

"Jackson!" Elsa cries as Liam holds her close, "Shh, it's okay, it's all over now." Liam lightly says as he starts to pull Elsa as they step over Jack's body making Elsa cry more as she sees the blood coming the shot wound. "Come on Elsa, it's time to go." Liam says even though Elsa was fighting, she didn't want to leave Jack, she couldn't. Liam kept pulling Elsa as they reach the stairs, "Freeze now!" Liam heard freezing as he turns to see two cops points at him and Elsa. "Let go of the girl now." One of the cops says as he narrowed his eyes at Liam. "Please, go save Jack! Please!" Elsa screams as Liam looks down at her, hurt. "You stupid little bitch... All you had to do is come with me! To stay in fucken New York!" He yells throwing Elsa on the ground point the gun at her before he felt a shot go through his shoulder making him drop the gun and hit the wall.

One cop went to Liam grabbing his arms and putting them around his back. "Ow! That hurts... Hey! Let go of me! Do you not know who I am!? I'm Liam Jones! I'm Liam Jones!" Liam yells as the cop starts to give him his rights as the other cop went to Elsa but she was already on her feet running into her room to see Jack still lay on the ground. "God Jack... Please please wake up!" Elsa cries as the cop calls down for more help as he gently pushes Elsa to the side, "It'll be alright miss." He says as Elsa covers her mouth as more help come up, the world around her going in slow motions as they took Jack down stairs in a stretcher and into ambulance. Elsa tried to follow as one of the cops stops her, "Whoa whoa wait, what's your name? Are you hurt?" He ask as she tries to push through, "I'm fine, I need to get to Jack, what hospital are they taking him? Where's Anna?" she ask as she see a red head sitting on the end of a different ambulance.

She pushes through as she went to Anna as Kristoff held her. "Anna." Elsa says as Anna looks up tears in her eyes as she grabs Elsa for a hug, "Oh Elsa, I am so sorry. That bastard just came out of no where.." "No, I'm sorry, I should of never left Jack's house." Elsa says as she pulls back and looks at Kristoff, "I'm so sorry... I should of.." "You did nothing wrong Elsa. Don't apologize. Where's Jack?" Kristoff ask making tears go into my eyes as I break down crying as Kristoff grabs me pulling me as I just stood there crying to my boyfriend's best friend. Praying that Jack would be okay.

"Breaking news, actor Liam Jones, the main star of the hit tv show Grey has been arrested. Jones was arrested for holding hostage his girlfriend Elsa Ice the famous ballet dancer that took a year off just a few months ago. Jones was also arrested for assaulting an Anna Young a classmate to Ice. And we just heard that Jones has shoot one of Ice's high school classmate, a young man name Jackson Frost. There is no news on Frost's condition for the time now but turn in tonight for an update."

Michale felt sick to his stomach hearing the news, what Liam did. He was more sick in the fact that he still didn't mange to get Elsa back in New York. Michale growl at himself as he turns off the tv and looks at his phone calling his daughter. He waiting as the ringing continued until it went to voice mail. He sighs as he puts his phone down only to have it ring again to see an unknown number. "Hello?" He ask as he hears a shaky voice on the other end. "Michale... Michale it's Liam, they arrested me man!" Liam yells making Michale sit back, "For kidnapping my daughter, for shooting someone! What the hell were you thinking!?" Michale yells.

"I was thinking this was the only way! Did you have any ideas how to get her back huh? No you didn't! And that Jack... that asshole was in the way!" Liam screams. Michale was shocked hearing Liam talk to him like this, and he didn't fully understand why he was calling him. "Why are you calling me Liam?" Michale ask. "I'm calling you because I need you to get me a lawyer man! I need you to get me the fuck out of here!" Liam yells. Michale couldn't believe what he was hearing, "You want me to get you out? You kidnapped my daughter! Why would I help you!?" Michale yells at his phone. "You made me do this Michale! And don't act like you give a damn about Elsa, we both know you don't see her as your daughter, she was just another client to you!"

Michale was fuming, "You know what Liam, get yourself your own lawyer, leave me out of this." Michael yells as he hangs up the phone and stands up from his desk, he'll have to take matters in his own hands now.

Elsa was almost running to Jack's room trying to get to him. No one gave her any information on him expect which room he was in. As she raced she stops quickly as she looks to see the room she was looking for. In the room, she saw Jack with Raven and Leon around him. Jack was sitting up with a brace on his left arm, with a weak smile on his face. Elsa couldn't believe what she was seeing as she covered her mouth holding back a cry. He was okay, he was alive. She starts to walk slowly to his room when she felt her phone start to go off. Looking down she saw her father's name pop up, half of her wanted to hang up and just go to Jack but maybe... he cared that something happened.

"Hello?" She answers. "Elsa! Honey are you okay? I just heard form the news what happened." Michale ask almost in a panic. "I'm fine Michale, but Liam hurt Jack so I need to..." "Jack? Jack Frost? So you are seeing him huh?" Michale hisses making Elsa start to glare, "If this is the only reason you called me then I rather not talk to you right now." Elsa hisses back about to hang up. "Elsa, you don't think that Liam knew about you and Jack right? I mean think about it... Liam was obviously very sick, you left him, and started to date another boy." Michale says making Elsa raise an eyebrow, "What does that have to do with anything? I broke up with Liam before I left New York." She says. "But do you really think he believed that? Think about it, you are a famous dancer, you left dance for a boy, how do you think people are going to take that? And Jack, well... Do you really think he wants to be the reason Elsa Ice quite dance? It would just make him... Resent you, or worse, hate you." Michael continues making Elsa squeeze her phone.

"That's not true... I didn't quite dance... I just went back to school. Once I'm done I'll come back, and Jack will join me." "But how do you know that Elsa? Do you really want to put him on that spotlight? I mean, you already got him shot at, he almost died. What if someone actually kill him next time?" He ask making Elsa's heart start to beat faster, that wasn't fair for Jack... If he came to New York would he even go to college? Became a painter? Or would he just be Elsa Ice's boyfriend who just followers her around? "Just think about it Elsa. I'm just glade you're okay." Michale says as he hangs up making Elsa slide her phone down looking at Jack and his family talking.

She didn't want to admit it but... He was right, the only reason Jack and Anna got hurt was because of her. She got them hurt, she almost got Jack killed, she was to blame. She felt tears go down her face knowing what she had to do to keep him and her friends safe.

And it was breaking her heart.

"Are you sure you're okay sweetie?" Raven ask as she kept messing with Jack's hair. "I'm fine mom really. I honestly don't know why I past out back there. He hit my shoulder." "He didn't just hit your shoulder, he almost hit your heart Jack. You're lucky you didn't get killed." Leon says squeezing the side of the bed. "Dad... I'm okay. The doctor even said I don't need surgery." Jack says seeing Leon's hands loosing up. He took a deep breath,  "Where's Elsa though? Is she okay?" Jack asks. Raven smiles, "She's fine honey. She should be here soon." "They arrested the guy, took him to jail for a long time. I'm just sorry we weren't there to protect you kids." Leon says touching Jack's hand finally calming down. "You guys didn't do anything wrong, I should of went with Elsa, it's my fault." Jack answers looking at his brace He still couldn't believe he got shot but he was lucky that the bullet went through and didn't hit his heart. But he still wanted to know where Elsa was, it killed him not having her with him now.

Jack heard a soft knock making him look to see Elsa by the door, her eyes red from crying, her hair a mess but to Jack, she was still so beautiful. "Elsa."  Jack whispers making Elsa cover her mouth as she stepped in walking over to Jack, her eyes only locked on him. "Oh god... Jack I am so sorry." Elsa cried as she touched his brace. "It's okay, I'm fine really." Jack answers touching her hand making her pull back. Jack knew something was wrong, she was acting different. "Hey guys, can you give Elsa and I a minute please?" Jack ask as Raven looks at her husband. Leon almost looked like he didn't want to leave but he could tell these kids need alone time. "Sure son." Leon says as he stands up as Raven kisses him on the top of his head, "We'll be right outside if you need us." She says as Leon grabs her hand and pulls her out leaving Jack and Elsa alone.

They didn't talk Elsa just kept her eyes on Jack's brace while he looked at her. "Elsa, it's okay. I'm fine, it's just going to take some time to heal." Jack says trying to touch her hand again but Elsa just put them on her lap. "Okay, what's going on?" Jack ask making Elsa close her eyes tighter scared of what to say next. "Um... I need to go back to New York..." Elsa says looking at Jack who just looked at her shocked. "What? But why? Elsa we still have a few months before we graduate you can't just leave." Jack says moving a little wincing in pain making Elsa put her hand on his good shoulder, "Stop moving you idiot... What are you doing?" She ask. "Trying to get to you, I'm not letting you leave!" Jack yells making Elsa sit back. "I know why you think you should leave! Because I got hurt but Elsa this is not your fault."

"It is my fault! I left New York, I started to date you, I fell in love with you, Liam almost killed you! Because of me! If I never left New York, if I just... Stayed away from you..." "I would be numb!" Jack interrupts making Elsa shut up. "You woke me up from being asleep for eight years, I was a walking zombie when you left me the first time. I had no feelings, I was numb without you." Jack whispers as he felt his hand go into a fist. Elsa felt tears go down her face as she stood up. "And I'll be numb without you. But if this is the only ways to keep you and my friends safe... Then this is what I have to do." She places her hand on his cheek as tears kept falling. "I will always love you. I will never love anyone other then you." Elsa went down and starts to kisses him softly on the lips. As she pulls back Jack grabs his hand, "I'm not giving you up. You can walk out that door but I'll be waiting for you. No matter how long it takes, I will wait for you." He screams his eyes starting to water as he lets go of her hand making Elsa step back.  "Good bye Jack..." She says as starts to walk out, leaving Jack alone in his bed tears falling down his face.

Elsa kept walking down the hallway as she heard a scream as she sobs knowing it was Jack screaming just like she was going to do once she got into a cab, leaving the small town she loved with the people she loved in it.

Ten Years Later

Elsa looked out her window, Michale was talking to her but her mind was in other places. She looks down at her phone to see a picture of her and Jack ten years ago. Jack's arm around her holding her close as he kisses the top of her head. She had a smile on her face, she was in love. Elsa couldn't help but smile as she looks at the picture, they were so young back then, she was so young. Elsa thought about Jack everyday, and she knew he lived in LA, that he had an opened a gallery about five years ago. She actually went to the opening to his show. When she was there, she saw him, god it was like he didn't age, he still had that blonde hair that was slick back. He was still so handsome to Elsa. She could feel her body moving to him until she remember the night he got shot making her stop. The was a reason she left him, a reason she break his and her heart. So instead she bought five paintings and left and never saw him again.

"Elsa are you listening to me?" She heard making her turn her head, "Yes Michale.. I am listening." she says making Michale sigh, "Would it kill you to call me father or dad?" He ask as Elsa starts to walk away form him, "It might. But why should I care? I'm already dead inside." she says. It was true, ever since she left her home town, since that day she left her friends, she left Jack. She has been numb, she wasn't herself. Even her dancing wasn't the same. It was like all of her emotions were gone and replaced with an empty shell.

But for some odd reason, she was winning awards, last year she was a dancer for Dancing with the Stars and she and her celebrity won. They even ask her to stay as a cast members but Michale wouldn't have it. 'to many shows on broadway.' He told them even though Elsa wanted to stay, she actually felt like herself at less, for a few months. But she knew there was always that hole in her heart, a hole that won't be filled again. "Miss. Ice." Elsa heard breaking her thoughts as one of her maids walked in holding her phone. "You have a phone call, form an Anna Young?" Elsa felt her eyes widen as she ran to her grabbing the phone, "Thank you." She says taking the phone in her room closing the door making Michale pissed as he looked at the maid, "Who the hell is Anna Young?" He ask making the maid shrug as she walked off.

Michale put his ear to the door but heard nothing only upsetting him more. He didn't like this daughter hiding things from him. He step back knocking, "Elsa, I need you... Now." He knocks harder as the door flow open and Elsa had a bag in her hand. "Where the hell do you think you're going?" He ask as Elsa walks up to her maid, "Please take this to my cab downstairs." She says as the maid nods and walks off. "Elsa, what is this?" Michale ask again. "I'm going home." she says walking into the kitchen grabbing a water bottle making a beeline to the door when Michale stops her. "Home? You are home, what are..." He stops as he looks at her face, she was almost glowing. "Why are you going back there? I thought we talked about this..." He ask making her shake her head, "No you talked about this, I just listen like the good little client I am." She answers and pushes through him.

"I have been invited to my high school reunion and I'm going." "Reunion? You didn't even graduate form there!" He yells. "Well I have a date who asked me to go so I'm going." She says starting to walk to the door. "You don't have time to go to a reunion! You have interview with Kelly and Ryan and you..." "I rescheduled everything. Actually I didn't rescheduled, I told them that Elsa Ice is taking a break and will be doing interviews in her home town tomorrow before the reunion." She says with a smile making Michale glare, "If this is because of Jack..." "It is because of Jack! Because for ten years you made me think what happened ten years ago was my fault! And it wasn't! It was Liam's fault and yours!" She yells making him stop as she walks closer to him.

"You really think this is what mom wanted? To see me suffering like this?" "How are you suffering? You are the most famous dancer in the world! Men are throwing themselves at your feet, and look at these awards!" He says pointing at her wall of awards and pictures. "Awards mean nothing without someone there celebrating them with you, to make you feel like made someone proud." She says looking back at Michale. "Well... I'm proud of you, and your mother would be too." He says placing his hand on her shoulder making her huff, "You really think mom would be proud of this? My dance isn't alive anymore Michale... It's dark, morbid! I don't even like to dance anymore because of you!" She says stepping back to the door. She turns back to him, seeing him upset, angry.

"I have some making up to do. To do something that would make mom proud of me. And if and when I come back to dance, it won't be here. It will wherever makes me happy. Not getting you money and you more famous." She opens the door. "Elsa wait! You can't go!" Michale yells making Elsa stop and sigh turning facing her father again. "Mom would be so disappointed in you." She says making Michale step back before she opens the door and walks out.

For good.

Jack took a deep breath as he step out of the plane in his hometown. It's been ten years since he left this town, but he missed it everyday. He won the contest for his painting of Elsa at the Cinderblock Garden and got the scholarship to a great art school in LA. After he graduated college, he opened up his own gallery, and is known as LA's hidden talents. He was rich, famous, but lonely. Everyday he thought about Elsa. He kept a tab on her, on what was going on with her life. He even went to one of her shows when she was on Dancing with the Stars in disguise so no one could see him, even Elsa couldn't recognize him. Watching her dance still made his heart beat faster but he could tell she didn't dance like she used too, and that killed him.

He starts to walk out of the airport to see Leon waiting for him with his car they built together ten years ago. "Whoa is that the famous Jack Frost? No way he would come to this small town." Leon joked as Jack ran to him and gave him a hug. "I would still live here if it wasn't for my work in LA." Jack teased as he pulls back to see his father. Ten years haven't changed his father much, he was still working on the oil rigs while his mother Raven was still a hairdresser. "How you doing son? You eating?" Leon ask making Jack raise an eyebrow, "I'm just asking you the questions your mother would ask." Leon laugh making Jack roll his eyes, "Yes I'm eating. Julie makes sure I'm eating." He answers as he starts to walk to the driver side of the car.

"Julie huh?" Leon ask as he throws the keys to his son as Jack catches them. "Don't give me that look, Julie is my assistant, and she is also married." Jack added making Leon roll his eyes, "I'm just saying son, it's been ten years... I don't think..." "I know... But I waited eight years before, I'll keep waiting." Jack says looking at his father. Leon knew he never got over Elsa, after she left, he locked himself in his room for almost a month, he almost didn't graduate because of it. What Jack said to Elsa was true, he was numb inside, there was no other girl but her. And he was still waiting for her. Jack sighs as he starts up his car and starts to drive. "What are you going to do tonight?" Leon ask trying to change his son's mood.

"Umm... Kristoff and Anna want to do dinner tonight so I'll be joining them." Jack says taking a turn. "And how are they doing? You know I saw Anna a few days ago." Leon says. "Then you know how they are doing." Jack snaps. Anna and Kristoff got married right after graduation. They both went to school but stayed in this small town, Kristoff started work in his father's bar while Anna became a teacher. But two years ago, they found out that they couldn't have kids, it almost killed Anna knowing she couldn't have a child... They been fighting with the adopting agency for months now with no luck. "I wasn't trying to start a fight son." Leon says making Jack sigh, "I know, I'm sorry. I think I'm just a little stressed with tomorrow night. Seeing all of my classmates... It's just going to be weird not having Elsa there." Jack says as he parks in front of their house.

Leon looks at his son placing his hand on his shoulder, "Jackson, I know you love Elsa, and I know you miss her but... Do you think it's time to move on?" Leon ask making Jack look at him, "Would you of moved on if this was you and mom?" Jack ask making Leon pull his hand back, "Touché." Leon laughs making Jack smile. "I'm not giving up on her dad. One day, we'll see each other again and it'll..." "It'll what?" Leon ask but Jack wasn't even sure, would she even love him still? "I don't know... but something will happen." He says making Leon sigh but nod, "Alright son." He says as he gets out of the car and looks at him through the window, "Are you going to your little cottage or to the garden?" Leon ask making Jack smile, "The garden, but I'll come back later to say hi to mom." He say as he reaches his hand out to his father making Leon grab it, "you better or you won't hear the end of it." he jokes making Jack smile as he drives off, maybe painting for a bit will calm his mind down, to make him remember the better days,

With Elsa.

Elsa has only been back in town for an hour and the first thing she did was went to the Cinderblock Garden. She wanted to see the finish painting that Jack did before she left. At less she hoped that he finished it, she really hope he finished it. It was like she never left as she looks through the garden, there was some new artwork but also the old ones she adored. But she didn't see any new paintings by Jack which made her worry, she knew he was painting still but did he stop painting here because of her? She starts to walk faster as she takes a left turn where the unfinished painting that Jack was working on should be there.

She stops when she sees the painting. She starts to walk to it slowly trying to hold back tears. The painting was a silhouette of Elsa on a green grass, her knees tucked under her chine with her head looking at a dark blue sky with a full white moon. It was the most beautiful painting she ever saw and she could even feel tears coming to her eyes as she remembers the day he started to paint this picture and the day he was almost done when he took her to their shed and made love. She wrapped her arms around her body as she fell to the ground, how could she of messed up this badly? To have Michale make her believe that she was the reason for this mess.

She couldn't stop the tears from fall form her eyes as her body started to shake. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I left you. I'm sorry I break your heart. I'm sorry Jack. I'm so sorry." She cries as she moves her hand up to her hair, "I never got over you. I never dated anyone else. I only wanted you and I lost you." she cried more as she fell to her butt moving her knees to her chest, "God I love you and I just left you... Why?" she ask her self as she wipes the tears from her eyes. She looks at her finger to see some of her mascara on her finger making her laugh, "God I'm crying and talking to myself." She says with another laugh as she looks back at the painting, "It's not like you love me. I broke your heart." she says to the paint with a sigh as she puts her head on her knees.

"But I do still love you."

Hey guys! This was a hard chapter to right, I was having a lot of writers block on it and I think the next chapter will be it's last but we'll see!
