The next day after Aryk's encounter with Jacob, Aryk still hadn't told Candy about what happened. After Aryk was transported back into the mortal realm, Candy questioned the events that Aryk had done. Not wanting to say much, Aryk lied. "The kid apparently was knocked out by a falling glass container that hit his head. So I kept him company before his awakening" Well, the last part wasn't a complete lie. She had talked to Jacob before making him awaken from death.
It was currently morning. Today, students would start their new schedule. If you are wondering who their new dormees were, Candy was dorming with her cousin Stormi (a weather elf), and Aryk was alone thankfully. So far. In reality, Aryk just stayed the night in Candy's dorm to avoid her new dorm mate.
They were walking to lunch. Candy was feeling elegant from princess training and Aryk was still high on the feeling of power running through her veins. So when people would pass by, Candy would wave as Aryk nearly gave them an early cremation.
When they turned the corner, they saw a bunch of people crowded around something on the wall. Although Candy didn't want to, Aryk insisted they see what was going on. Meaning Candy lift Aryk up to read what was on the wall.
"I hate how people never consider dwarfs when they put these things up!" Aryk complained.
"Actually, they do. You're just half the height of most dwarfs. You take the word retard's literal definition." Candy countered.
Aryk gave her a swift, playful punch. "Meany."
The poster read *with fancy fonts on a pink poster*:

The girls stared at the poster. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Aryk said.
"If you're thinking that either a super cute guy will ask me to the dance, if I will meet my Prince Charming there, or maybe even both, then yes. I am thinking what you are thinking." Candy said.
Aryk snorted before seeing Candy's stern expression. "You're serious... Meh, I won't be surprised if it happens." She said, avoiding Candy's eyes as a cold chill of jealousy ran though her. She shivered before shaking her head. "Anywho, I was thinking that it's crazy how our moms are running this thing. And we have dance skills that shouldn't go to waste. So I was thinking we could give dance lessons and get our moms to claim they are the official dance lessons of the Honeydew Academy. They could promote us."
"Ooooo I love it! But there are major flaws in this." Aryk gave her a quizzical look. So Candy quickly explained herself. "F-ffff-for one thing, when will have these? Everyone already has filled schedules, so there is no time."
"Yes there is. We can hold lessons on weekends and during free hours and in dorm time." Aryk protested smoothly.
"Also, how would we get people to come?" Candy pointed out.
"We advertise."
"How so?"
"I dunno. Putting up posters and getting it mentioned in the morning announcements or something like that."
"Would we profit off of this?"
Aryk hmm'd in thought over this. "I mean we could. Wouldn't hurt. Maybe like .50 Windzacoy. Half a Windzacoy. Not much so people can afford them. Multiply that by 2 and you got a full Windzacoy."
Candy asked one last question. "Would they even allow this?"
Aryk shot Candy a look like are you crazy?! "Dude! Are you for reals?! There hasn't been dance lessons that aren't a class since ever! And if Honeydew wants some profit, we can give it to them! Like a fundraiser!" She exclaimed. "Oh, this is going to be a major event!"
Candy gave in. "Fine. I digress."
"Maybe we could even help set up the dance!" Aryk squeed, her face lit brightly.
Candy couldn't help the chuckle that came out of her mouth. "I'm sorry, you? No offense sweet-heart, but don't you think you're just a little to short for that"
This gave her a glare from Aryk. "DON'T BRING MY HEIGHT INTO THIS, MISSY! THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER DWARVES HERE! JUST ALL OF THEM TWICE MY HEIGHT!!!"
"Oh my gosh you are so cute! Like a little red-headed porcelain doll!" Candy squeed. "It's so fun watching you get all mad like that! It happens super easily and is like watching a bunny get mad because you are sooo tiny and adorable!" She rambled. "I just can't wait to see what you are like sad with those--"
"Okay, okay, I get the point! I'm adorable!" Aryk interrupted. "But honestly, I thought I was hot! I mean, I got the curves all them other peoples be wantin' but can't have; My eyes are just the right shade of green; my hair has those fiery hues and blood-red tint, that graceful yet full of sass walk-- honey, I'm gorgeous!"
Candy rolled her eyes at Aryk. Always so full of herself. Well, when she was in fiery dwarf mode, that is. Which was right now.
It was really sad, though at first when Aryk couldn't control her sides.
She couldn't control herself. Her own body. She couldn't choose when she was her normal self, a phoenix, or her fiery-tempered self.
Until 8th grade, Aryk was depressed and wouldn't accept herself. Sometimes she would be sitting in a classroom, working on an assignment, when POOF--she was something different.
For a while, Aryk thought her parents knew it was magic that changed her. Until she heard them talking in hushed tones over the phone. They thought she was sick with a deadly disease and would soon die.
