Chapter 1: The beginning
It started not that long ago. Candy and Aryk (air-reek) had just been accepted into Honeydew Academy--the school for super-natural children.
Candy and Aryk met back in middle school, neighbors ever since. Immediately they hit it off and have been best friends since.
Now, as they walked, cookie crumbs fell behind Candy as she ate like five of them (WOW!) nervously. "Hey I think I am nervous." Candy mumbled anxiously, starting away on another cookie.
"WHAT?! I never noticed." Aryk muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes.
Bang! Candy hit a glass door in front of the school. Her body slid to the ground before picking herself up and rubbing her constantly pink nose. Aryk looked at her face, examining.
"What?" Candy slowly turned to face the glass door. Her makeup was wiped clean. Mascara was streaming down the door and blush was in splotches and foundation looked like caramel-flavored whipped cream that held it all together.
Despite the shock over Candy with no makeup on, something came out of Aryk's mouth. "I have really got to teach you how to put make up on."
Candy burst through the doors and down the hall to find a bathroom. Soon, a floating sign that read girls restroom above a door appeared. She dashed in.
Her caramel tan skin and cotton-candy blue eyes with her bubblegum pink hair looked a mess in the bathroom mirror.
Aryk walked in as Candy put her hair in a bun. And Aryk couldn't help but admire that girl. She was beautiful with or without makeup.
Candy grabbed her gumdrop purse and searched for a hidden button to which she pressed. The purse opened and she grabbed a small bottle lf liquid with a sky blue hue. She grabbed the eye dropper and a piece of candy. The candy flew in the air and landed in her hair.
Aryk just sat in the corner of the door frame and stared at her black and white converses.
Candy slowly floated her hand over the bag, three pixies did her makeup, and once they were finished they flew around her head before landing in her gumdrop bag.
"Ready," Candy said, turning around only to see Aryk had fallen asleep. Candy chuckled and gave Aryk a quick little nudge. Her eyes slowly opened.
"Hey sleeping beauty. Time to wake up." Candy whispered in Aryk's ear. Her face turned a bright red and popped up like it never happened.

"Bbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg!!!!" Cried the bell.
The girls quickly ran out of the bathroom only to see a wave of students. Aryk being a dwarf grabbed Candy's leg as Aryk created a bright blue light circle around them on the floor. They fell right through the floor and popped up in their first hour class.
"Why, hello Candy and Aryk. Please take your seats." Mrs.Fuzzwik said the second they popped into the room, her back turned to the white board. "I can see you took a portal once again. Aryk, I suppose you were the one to decide that?"
Aryk nodded guilty. "Busted." She muttered inaudably.
Mrs.Fuzzwik shook her head. "Disgraceful. What have I told you about instant teleportation like that? For 2 people?"
Aryk chose not to answer and rolled her eyes, annoyed now.
"It uses up lots of energy! And every time you do, you could let in a dark source!!!" Mrs.Fuzzwik cried, not caring that Aryk remained silent. After the first few times of getting onto Aryk back in the fall, Aryk started to ignore Mrs.Fuzzwik. Mrs.Fuzzwik had no clue why she even tried anymore, nowadays.
Mrs.Fuzzwik turned around and the word Dorms was scrawled across the board as other students arrived.
There were groans of protest from other students as they sat down.
"Oh shut it will you? I know you all love this. We do it after every break, in every first hour, to make sure you have the right dorm member."
Tests were passed out and pencils were picked up.
"Once everyone is finished we will begin with our geography lesson. You may start now." Mrs.Fuzzwik announced.
After the tests were finished, they reviewed the geography of Canada. The bell rang and students ran out. Not before Mrs.Fuzzwik yelled "be sure to check the list outside the administration building after lunch to find out your dorm and dorm mate!"
Candy and Aryk were excited to find out who their new dorm member would be. Would it be a Sugar Plum, Phoenix, Hog Head, or Snake scale? Boy or girl? How old are they? Are they even nice? The girls wished they had eachother as dorm mates but were fine if they weren't.
At lunch the girls went to the administrations building to get their schedule. Their jaws dropped as they looked over them.

Candy squeed after reading her schedule. "AAAA I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!" She yelled, hugging her schedule. "Now show me yours!!!"
Aryk held up a hand. "Now wait a second. Why don't you have any magic classes aside from potion creating? You have required classes and all frilly electives, but no magic classes. Aside from potion making."
"Oh that's simple! Us Sugar Plums take our required magic classes when we're younger so we can have more normal human electives our Junior and Senior years. I thought you've already seen my classes? Besides, I am princess and future queen of Elftopia! So it makes sense to why I have chosen these electives."
" No, I haven't seen them. Huh." Aryk muttered before reviewing her schedule.

Aryk was over joyed by her schedule. "I get a later bed time than you! HA!" She bragged.
Candy looked sad. "Aryk..."
Aryk allowed herself to be happy for one more moment before facing Candy. "Yeah?"
"Your schedule... Notice the difference between ours?"
She glanced over her and Candy's schedule. Her face fell. "Candy... Our schedules... They're almost completely different."
A nod of agreement from Candy was the only response.
Aryk balled up her fists as a frustrated scream came out. "We only have geography together!!! Seriously?!!!"
"Well, at least we have meals together."
Aryk's head snapped over to Candy. "Are you for realzies right now?! Everyone has meals and social hour together!!!"
This was true. Candy couldn't deny the fact. But she could use it in her argument. "Aryk. Are you for realzies right now?" She smiled. "That's 4 more hours of seeing each other! Plus passing time. Which is 10 minutes. And in total passing time is..." Candy calculated the math in her head. "2 hours and 30 minutes of passing time we can see eachother. Add that to the other 5 hours and that is 7 hours and 30 minutes a day we can see eachother. Plus, we might be dorm mates!" Candy argued.
Somehow a chuckle came out of Aryk's mouth as she thought of the last sentence.
"What?" Candy questioned.
Aryk snorted. "Do you remember all previous years and times? Whenever the girl tried to change around me I would be like 'please don't. I am very sensitive.' And then she would be all like 'well we're all girls here. What? Do you expect me to change in the bathroom?' Then I would respond with 'YES!' but she would still change in there. So I would scream and run out the door before I could see anything." Aryk laughed to herself as she shook her head. "The longest I was in a dorm with someone other than you was 24 hours."
Something stood out to Candy in this. "Were they all girls?"
Aryk rolled her eyes. "Yeah, duh."
Candy squealed. "You're a senior now! And you know what that means?"
Aryk was confused before realizing. "OH GOSH NO!!!"
"OH GOSH YES!!!" Candy squeed. "Come on! Lets go check and see who we're dorming with!" She grabbed Aryks hand and they took off running.
Before they could find their names though, the bell rang. But before anyone was released from their classes (everyone else had already gotten his or her schedule and knew where to go) a voice came over the speakers signalling everyone to remain in the classes.
Aryk and candy turned around and saw paramedics running by them, down the hall. They came back up with a body.
The girls started to panic and Aryk closed her eyes, concentrating on the body that lie in the stretcher. In her mind she could see hot and cold colors. The body that lay in the stretcher was both cold colored and warm colored. To find out more, Aryk used her mind to go into the body.
Aryk opened her eyes and yep, it worked. She was inside the corpse on the stretcher. Or should someone say... Dead corpse. As soon as Aryk realized this, she flew out and saw the soul hovering beside it's body.
"Hey." Aryk said.
"Oh. Hey. I've heard of you. Aryk, I believe? Hi. My name is Jacob. And why is my body laying right there, and why am I flying right here? Also, you're supposed to be back there." Jacob pointed back to where Candy was as they flew by.
Aryk tried not to be overwhelmed by his attractiveness. "Oh. Well Candy knows I sometimes go inside the bodies of other people to see what state they're in. And Jacob... You're dead."
A pained expression showed on his face. "But how... One second I was alive and the next... And how are you able to see me?" He questioned.
Aryk tried not to be over whelmed by his questions. "Phoenixes are birds of the immortal world. I don't know how they got here to the mortal realm, they just did. And they can see the spirits. I took classes on this, since I was turned into one by some witch when I was a little girl."
Jacob snickered. "You are still little."
Despite his comment, Aryk smiled. She was glad he was able to smile. Even in death. Everyone deserves to smile.
While she smiled at him, she remembered something. She could bring him back to life, since it hasn't been over an hour since his death. "OH MY GOSH!!!"
"What? What is it?" Jacob yelled.
Glee and adrenaline took over Aryk. "I can bring you back to life."
Jacob grinned from ear to ear. "Then come on! Let's do this!" He exlaimed.
Aryk placed Jacob's hands and hers and created a big white glow. Phoenixes appeared and circled them. They started flapping their wings. The light spread. Jacob started to glow. A deafening boom sounded, that only Aryk, Jacob, and the phoenixes could hear.
Jacob disappeared. The phoenixes disappeared. And then, silence.
