EPILOGUE

MIKEY was cuddled up against adela's throw pillow, sleeping. after that nightmare in raccoon city, it was a relief that he was actually able to sleep. once the helicopter landed, carlos decided that it would be best for him to stay at a hotel nearby. adela took mikey and jill in, after the flight.

adela had bought mikey some clean clothes and she bought them pizza the night they got there. adela sat in the kitchen, drinking some warm coffee. jill walks out of adela's bedroom with her messy short hair.

the brunette had gotten rid of her clothes and decided that it would be best to share clothes with adela. surprisingly, they were the same size! so it was a win-win for everyone.

"good morning, sunshine." adela teased, resulting in jill to glare at the latina. "yikes, i forgot you weren't a morning person." she joked, only for jill to roll her eyes at her. jill had a gray tank top and white shorts. they fit comfortably on her, besides she didn't mind if adela stared a little.

"there's coffee on the counter, if you want any." she suggested. jill grabs a mug and pours the hot substance into the cup. she then walks over to adela's table and sits down.

"i'm taking you two to the doctor today." she started. "you need to get examined and your wounds need to be taken care of better." she sighs.

"adela—." jill started, placing her soft, slightly bruised hand on top of adela's soft clear one. "thank you for letting us stay here with you. i really owe you." she sighs.

adela looks down at jill's hand and blushes softly. "i-it's uh no problem." she smiled, biting her lip softly. only jill was able to make her feel this way. "besides, you saved my ass back in that mansion. it's only fair." she shrugged softly.

the two women get lost in eachother's eyes for what seems like forever. jill just had those blue eyes that anyone could just fall in love with and adela had those soft doe like eyes that made anyone feel comfortable.

adela clears her throat softly. "can we clear the elephant in the room?" she asked with a small chuckle. jill raises an eyebrow at the girl's question.

"elephant? what elephant?" she asked, confused with what adela was trying to get at.

"ya know.. us?" adela sighs. "after we kissed at that mansion, we just kinda stopped talking about it afterwards." she started. jill tensed up a bit, looking down at their hands. "i just wanna know if you feel the same way i feel about you." she let's out.

jill stayed quiet for a minute. "i-i really like you, adela." she started with a small frown on her face. "but i'm just scared." she admitted anxiously.

"scared? why?" adela furrowed her eyebrows.

"because you know how people are." jill frowns, looking down at their hands. "t-they wouldn't accept it a-and they'd try to hurt us." she explains.

"you know we wouldn't let them do anything to us." adela sniffed, tearing up lightly. "we'd tell them to fuck off or we'd beat their asses." jill chuckles softly at her last sentence. "i'm in love with you, jill valentine." adela admitted with tears rolling down her cheeks. "i've always been." she shrugged, wiping her tears.

jill uses her free hand to wipe adela's tears away. "i'm in love with you, too." she sniffs with tears rolling down her face as well. jill was tired of hiding. she was tired of hiding her feelings. she just wanted to let it all out and that's exactly what she was gonna do.

adela leans in and places her pink lips onto jill's soft pink ones. jill kisses her back, using her hand to pull adela deeper into the kiss.

adela wraps her arms around her shoulders, deepening the kiss as well. before anything could go further, they heard a small chuckle coming from the living room.

the two women pull away from eachother with bright red cheeks and slightly swollen lips. mikey laughed at the two, shaking his head softly.

"you just couldn't wait for me to leave, could you?" mikey questioned with a playful grin written on his face.

"and where exactly are you going?" jill asked, crossing her arms at the teenager trying her best to change the subject. adela grabbed her mug, taking a sip of her coffee.

"i wanted to go for a walk." he shrugs. "ya know, see if there's any skateparks." he runs a hand through his brown hair.

"you have to be back in two hours." adela spoke up. mikey nodded, smiling softly.

"alright, i will." mikey agreed, walking towards the bathroom with his clean clothes. "also, try not to do anything while i'm still here. i wanna keep some of my innocence." he teased, resulting in jill to blush deeply.

"go now." mikey laughs, walking into the bathroom to freshen up.

after walking for a bit, mikey came to a realization that there weren't any skate parks in this boring part of ohio. he sighs softly, sitting down on a cold bench he had found along the way.

he looked down at the side walk below him. thoughts swarmed through his head as he thought about the people he had lost. his father was gone and so were his mother and sister. he didn't even have a grave to visit. he had no recollection of his former family. he was just alone. yeah, he had jill but it wasn't the same. the people who had taken care of him when he was younger were gone.

"mind if i have a seat?" mikey looks up only to see carlos standing next to him. he smiles widely, nodding at the man.

"of course." carlos sits next to him, saying nothing at first. "so, we survived." mikey perks up with a small chuckle.

"we sure did." carlos nodded, watching the fifteen year old's smile falter. "what's wrong?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows at mikey's demeanor.

"nothing, i'm just thinking about stuff." mikey answered, looking down at the floor. "i'd rather not talk about it." he shrugs. "so, are you staying here for a while?" mikey asked, looking at carlos.

"no." carlos shook his head. "i'm going back to south america for a little bit." he responds, causing mikey to frown again. "don't worry, i'll be here for every holiday." he wraps an arm around mikey.

mikey laughs softly. "i appreciate that." he smiled, standing up slowly. "you should come for dinner tonight. ya know? just one last meal with the all of us." he shrugs, shoving his hands into the back pockets of his jeans.

"i'd like that." carlos smiled, nodding at the boy's request. mikey starts to walk away from the man. "mikey, wait!" he called out, jogging towards the teenager.

"i got you this." he hands the the teenager a skateboard with a red ribbon around it.

mikey gasps, taking the skateboard. "no way! i didn't think you were— thank you!" he thanked, smiling widely at carlos' grand gesture.

"no problem." carlos chuckled. "a promise is a promise, right?"

mikey smiled in disbelief. "i'll see you tonight, alright?" mikey nodded before taking the bow off. he places the bow in his pocket. he then puts the skateboard on the floor and skates away.

he smiled as the wind below on his face softly. he felt safe. maybe this place wasn't gonna be that bad after all.

THIS was the epilogue. as you could see, jill and adela finally got their ending 🥺💗

mikey's a happy boy now which makes me very happy 🥺🤚🏼
