Those chocolate brown eyes that was filled with hopelessness, stared back at the hopeless dark sky with a blank face. Like the empty hazy sky she appeared calm and composed but behind the facade billions of emotions were swirling.

Avu- you're so angry that you didn't even come to see me ?

A sigh escaped out her lips, the words were veiling the depth of hollowness that resides in a corner of her heart. A corner that she kept hidden from everyone's eyes.

She have lost the track of time for how long she stood under the duvet of darkness of the sky. The railing of the terrace felt so frigid under her clutch yet she cared less.

"You will fall sick." the chilly gust of wind came blowing her long hairs aside grazing her soft skin amok. However it was the depth of his hoarse voice that made her shiver.

Her breath hitched when she twitched her head to confirm if it was actually his voice and actually he was there, standing close to her. Closer than usual.

Sid- happy birthday

Her lips quivered when he broke the moment of silence between them and slowly the realisation of his words alarmed in her brain. With eyes wide like saucers she stared at him with face morphed with uneasiness.

A little later she averted her gaze away from him, not having a reply to give. Like normal she should thank him. But for what would she thank him ? For the despondency she have been carrying since years or for the pain she was feeling being in his love.

Avu- I don't celebr...

Sid- I know you don't celebrate your birthday

He chimed in, his posture was composed as always. While her eyes fixed on his face.

He clearly remembers when she told him about her not celebrating her birthday. That's why during afternoon he came back in the mansion to simply wish her. But before he could meet her she was gone. And he was still engrossed with handling the things related to court trials so had to return to office.

He had something important to discuss with her so he returned back early but she wasn't back yet. And when the clock moved past ten thirty, he couldn't restrain and drove to her.

A long moment of silence empowered their ambiance.

Avu- do you believe in soulmates ?

The words vented through her tongue even before she could stop. His eyebrows on their own knitted on her abrupt question. Not long, he shook his head. His denial only made her feel more stupid of herself for asking that question.

Sid- the moon is beautiful, isn't it ?

Her eyes darted back and forth from the dark hollow sky and his face and then she allowed her gaze to remain on his handsome face. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. There was no moon in the sky. Leave moon, there wasn't even sign of any star so far. Naive her couldn't understand the hidden meaning behind his irrelevant statement.

Her heart picked up pace realising that his eyes were glued on her for longer than usual. And it seemed like he have no intention to look away. There was that emotion that passed through those hazel orbs which she denied to acknowledge in order to not give any false hopes to her poor heart.

Sid- I've something important to discuss with you

Upon hearing that she licked her dry lips in anticipation.

Avu- about the contract ?

His eyes squinted albeit he nodded. Her blood felt cold in her veins watching him pulling out a paper roll from his packet. Her hands hastily moved to his which were extending the document in her direction.

Avu- can you kiss me for the last time ?

The way his eyes squinted and creases formed on his forehead, it made the bewilderment he felt evident. As if all the blood in her veins ran through her face, her face now appeared flushed. The scarlet shade spreading till her neck made her pale skin glow. Despite of her flustered state she refused to look away from his eyes.

Though she had a storm going inside her but she didn't have any idea how to let it out. She even though wanted to confront him however she wasn't enough strong to see everything crumbling. And if things have to end this way then she needs a memorable closure.

Avu- just for a closure before everything ends

She stammered. He went stiff upon hearing her words. Taking a deap breath he stepped closer to her, almost erasing the little distance between them. His fingers held her chin with so much tenderness making her shiver yet draped a hint of warmth simultaneously.

Sid- it will be anything but the end

She was dreading so much that her body went numb and she don't even realised when his lips softly indulged with hers. Her widened eyes shut on it's own after her lips slowly fell in actions with his. His hand moved towards her cheeks and slides to the crook of her neck, locking his tender fingers under her ears.

Their lips were both inexperienced yet eager to dive in the pool of intoxication.
Her palms softly raked through his chest, feeling his muscles tensing under her touch and then stopped resting just above his heart. His heartbeats were as frenzy as hers. For support her other hand held the biceps of his left hand which have her caged in his arms securely.

His thumb that was continuously stroking her cheeks were doing wonders to her. They never thought kissing could feel this spiritous. If kissing the person you love feels this way then they both anticipated that they are going to get addicted to this.

Sid- I'm not good with words

His warm breath fanned on her ear shells just above her neck while she heaved in his crook to catch her own breaths.

Sid- this time I'll not blackmail you. And I'm sorry for last time. But will you.. will you like to breach that one year contract and step into a contract of lifetime ?

The freshest in her eyes bursted upon hearing his words and a fresh downpour of tears cascaded down from her beautiful chocolate orbs. He sounded like the businessman who is desperate to grab his dream project. The overwhelming emotions invaded her since a sob broke past her slightly quivering lips.

He although was panicking from inside yet patiently waited for her to give out a proper reply since he knew she was having a moment with whirlwind of emotions. Meanwhile she felt like laughing at how cute he sounded however her tears won't stop as his words pressed the switch to her emotions. She can't believe this was actually happening. Before now she used to think that it can only happen in her imagination.

Wobbling her head, she carelessly threw her arms around his neck, at the same time another sob followed from her lips. A continuous Yes being chanted through her lips. His reflexes was fast enough to catch her as they were very close to the railing.

Avu- I would love to

She cried out placing a soft kiss above his clothed shoulder. His grip tightened around her, his chest was floating in warmness and he doesn't have enough words to express how relieved and gleeful he felt at the moment.

Sid- there won't be any clause of termination this time

He hinted and it earned a trembling chuckle from her.

Avu- that would be more than awesome

A light crescent formed at the corners of his lips and he let his fingers lovingly run through her brown curls.

Sid- I don't believe in soulmates. But feels like you are the missing half of my life.

And there goes her heart again. Those words cascaded out of his mouth with so much integrity that a full blown grin curved on her lips. That moment she knew no one have ever made her feel so special and so worthy in her entire living of twenty-two years.

Her gaze momentarily darted to the sky where she saw a sparkling star at far. Her smile broadened and she quoted a soft thankyou mumma in the air.

Since years she have hated her birthday but for the first time in all these years she felt that this was the best birthday she ever had.

Under the vast spreaded duvet of gloomy darkness, their love shined brighter like the sun, marking the rise of new phase filled with new hopes.

The three girls, with a frown etched on their face, stared at Avu, who was pacing back and forth.

Rim- spill it out Neet. You're annoying us.

Reem groaned tossing the nut shell in Avu's direction that directly hit her on nose. Avu scowled glaring at Reem to which Reem just shrugged sheepishly.

Avu- see I'm very confused right now. Like, yesterday he proposed to me for living together forever. But I've no idea like how should it go on ? I mean we never had to behave like husband and wife before so does it change now since we are together in that way. I mean I'm his wife but I'm not ready to be a wife so I me..

'What the fuck!!!' the trio shrieked together halting Avu's express train like rambling.

Krup- when did you guyz get married ?

Rim:Ashn- he proposed you ?

Krupa threw a murderous look at Reem and Ashnoor on which they instantly looked away acting all innocent. Avu's eyes widened on realisation and she bit her tongue.

Avu- uhh.. that's a long story.. it wasn't supposed to come out.

Scratching her neck awkwardly, she looked everywhere but at them. Her whole face turned red.

Ashn- we thought he was just your fake boyfriend

Avu- no. It's complicated. It was like a forced marriage. But later we had a deal so things were very cool.

She adduced explaining the things in the simplest way she could get onto. Meanwhile the three girls ogled at her as if she have grown two horns on her head.

Rim- woahh! That sounds weird when get to witness in real life.

Reem chirped amused and sloppy smile on her lips. But only earned a smack on her thighs from Krupa who again glared at her.

Krup- bullshit! I don't trust him anymore. It's real life not any fictional story. Back to earth, girls.

A angry breath flared out of her nose and her eyes narrowed. Avu bit the corner of her lips and slowly walked to Krupa who have turned her face away.

Avu- okay, don't trust him. But can you trust me ? Please trust my trust over him.

Holding Krupa's hands in hers she coaxed with hopeful eyes. Though it was her mistake to blurt everything out but she knew the truth have to come out one day since now they are together. And it would be tough to persuade the elders without her friends being her side.

Krupa sighed nodding. She was though half convinced but ofcourse she knew she have to respect her friend's decision. She can see Avu's love for him. And if anything happens in future so of course she will be there beside.

Avu's phone pinged indicating that Sid is here to pick her. She bid bye to the girls and hastily sprinted out of the room. She yelled a quick bye to Jai and Bhavesh who were playing table tennis on dining table which always pisses Sonia.

She had to stifle her laughter seeing the uneasy expressions on John's face. The poor man must be here to summon her and is now being strictly ordered by Sonia to have some tea. And poor him isn't ready to accept Sonia's offerings due to the fear of his boss who is waiting in the car.

Avu- don't worry John. I'll take care of your akdu boss. One cup of tea won't harm.

She laughed not able to restrain anymore. Sonia served John a cup of tea which he accepted gladly and yet had an skeptical expression on his face.

Soon enough they were stepping out of the house. Avu once again convinced John that he won't be scolded but John was yet not convinced as he knew his boss strictness towards time and punctuality.

Avu- heyy

She waved her hands at a smiling Riyaz who was sitting on the front seat doing something on the iPad. Then she moved her gaze to Sid who finally decided to spare her some of his attention from his laptop. His eyes involuntarily darted to his wrist watch on which Avu scoffed.

Avu- sorry Mr.I-am-always-busy to waste the very precious five minutes of your schedule

She couldn't help but mock, her nose scrunching up simultaneously which had him squint his eyes at her antics. He just opened his mouth but she was quick to interrupt.

Avu- I'm in no mood to hear your lectures. As per now you can tell me where are we going ?

Crossing her arms, she lifted up her serpentined eyebrows in a questioning manner. Her curiosity was only getting closer to it's edge after he told her that he is taking her somewhere, but won't tell where.

Sid- patience

It is all he said and focused his attention back to whatever he was doing in his laptop before. She pouted glaring at the laptop profusely with a murderous glint in her eyes. Riyaz stiffle his laughter as he unintentionally noticed her expressions through the review mirror.

Sid- is there anything funny ?

Resonate Sid's voice in the moving car and he for a moment lifted his eyes up from the screen.

Riy- no boss

Riyaz coughed straightening his posture and shook his head vigorously. Sid curtly nodded his head and went back on whatever he was busy with. Avu looked between the two men with amusement and the bursted into laughter.

The sound of her laughter luxuriates with the silence inside the car. Her laughter was normal like anyone else however he finds it very special and lively. He have grown to love her laughter. She expresses her emotions so carefree-ly and he have started to adore that.

A warm hue crept on her cheeks finding his gaze fixed on her. Today something about his way of looking at her felt very different and very intense. Forcing a lump down her arid throat, she leaned her face closer to his and softly let her lips linger to his cheeks. His prickling stubble that grazed her her cheeks got goosebumps appear on her skin. Whereas he felt his heart almost jumped with ecstasy inside his rib cage.

It was just matter of seconds before she hastily pulled away feeling all the courage suddenly drained out of her veins. Luckily none of the men at the front seat got the slightest idea about whatever took place in the back seat.

For the remaining ride neither Avu nor Sid exchanged any words or even looked directly at each other. Although they continued to steal secret glance of each time to time.

The two were finally taking initiatives for their relationship.

Sid slowed down his pace so that Avu don't have to jog to comply with him. She smiled at his little gestures remembering the times when he just used to walk away ignoring her vociferation.

A little hesitant, he slowly extended his hand in her direction to hold her hands. His gaze flickered to her when he his hands crashed with hers, and the realisation fluttered his heart that she was doing the same.

Their eyes glimmered deepening together. Throwing all the hesitancy in far corner he slipped his fingers between the web space of her fingers interlocking their fingers with each other. A wide smile made its way to her lips gazing at their intertwined hands.

Not much later they both were standing in front of the apartment which was at tenth floor of the building where they were in. Avu still very confused about why he brought her to this residential area which is in complete opposite direction to his office.

Though she decided to hold her curiosity for little more while Sid pressed the door bell. Within few moments the sound of doorknob cooking entered their ears indicating that the door is being opened.

And even before she could get time to understand anything she was flushed to a strong manly chest who stood on the other side of the door.
