"Yes! It's here!" You squealed as you realised your virtual companion pack had arrived. You picked up the box and dashed to your computer. Opening the small box, you took out the small memory-stick looking device and plugged it into your laptop. A java script popped up and it quickly listed the program and just as quickly as it popped up, it disappeared again. You looked into the instructions menu and noted some points.

1) The computer would randomly generate the look of your virtual companion (vc).

2) You choose the traits and name of your vc.

3) The vc has automated speech and will respond to the mouse touching it and your speech.

4) The vc sleeps while the computer is off or hibernating but remembers everything from the previous day.

5) The vc's are increasingly becoming independent. They gain a free will. If this occurs send the vc back and you will receive a refund or another vc.

The last point didn't seem that bad to be honest. Oh well. You clicked on the tab for the vc and a menu came up saying 'start' and 'delete'. You pressed start and different coloured pixels exploded on your screen.

"Whoa." You murmured, entranced by all of the colours on your screen. Another menu popped up not long after.

"Enter name" Hmm. What to name them. Wait, was it a boy or a girl? Oh there it is, boy. Ok then you can roll with that. Ah! Call him Zoosmell Pooplord! Aha that's great! Wait, what?

"Your vc rejects this name!" They can do that? Oh, well OK. How about something fun? How about Egbert? John? John Egbert! Yes! You entered his name and a big green tick appears on the screen. A trait screen pops up next. What to give him? 'Oh, lets make him fun and bubbly, something to look forward to after a bad day. There's a prankster option, should I? Yeah.' You then went to click proceed, anxious to see what he looked like. As you were about to click the box moved away from the mouse.

"What?" You moved your mouse but the box moved away again in a large leaping motion. All of a sudden an adorable laugh rang out from the computer. You quickly clicked the proceed button and a little swirl icon appeared on the screen. You clicked it and a boy with black hair, blue eyes and glasses appeared. He was adorable. He even had little buck teeth! So cute!

"Hi! I'm John Egbert, I am being told that I need to tell you 'Thank you for choosing Interal's virtual companion pack' but I'm sure you don't want to listen to all of that! I just want to say hi. From now on, I will be your virtual companion!"

"Aw! You're so adorable! Too precious for this world!"

"I'm not adorable, I'm a prankster!"

"Oh my God I can't handle the cute..."
