Taehyung nervously shifted his feet around, rolling his heels against the floorboard of the patio as he waited for Jeongguk to open the door. Although his memory was pretty foggy, Taehyung recalled that the younger took him home last night, and so he wanted to thank him.

After waiting for a while, and knocking a few more times, Taehyung simply pushed the door open and stepped inside. Almost immediately the brunette was ambushed with the intense stench of weed. He nearly choked, and had to squint his eyes through the thick fog of smoke that clouded the house.

He heard voices coming from the kitchen. Slowly, the brunette took cautious steps in that direction. Taehyung peaked his head around the corner, seeing four men sitting around the kitchen table. Joints were latched between their lips as they were all engaging in a card game. Their voices were loud and gruff, probably hoarse from smoking.

Taehyung couldn't spot Jeongguk anywhere, and slowly crept backwards, not wanting to be seen by the greasy men. However, his back soon collided with a hard chest. Taehyung quickly looked behind him, his eyes meeting with the familiar color of onyx.

Yet those same pair of eyes were stained with red lines, decorating his sclera. A joint was jammed between his pale, chapped lips. He puffed out smoke from the corner of his mouth, and Taehyung already felt the urge to cough.

"J-Jeongguk, I—" The older began, nervously swallowing as he always felt uncomfortable when the other was in this state.

"Oi! J! Where you at?" A man from the kitchen shouted.

"Be there in a minute." The younger casually spoke, his gaze stuck on the figure in front of him. Taehyung's hands twitched so he had to scratch the back of his neck in his obvious discomfort.

"I wanted to—"

"Get out." Jeongguk's cold tone took the older aback. Taehyung ignored the sting at his heart as he firmly held his ground.

"Listen—"

"What don't you understand? Get the fuck out, Taehyung." The younger spoke in a low voice, expression stern with eyes that could kill. "I mean it."

The brunette was't budging. With a quiet sigh, Jeongguk grabbed the other's arm and started pulling him towards the front entrance.

"Hey! Don't— Mpff!" Taehyung's protests were cut short when suddenly Jeongguk's hand slapped over his mouth. The older tried prying off the other, but his strength was no match.

The brunette's back was crushed against the younger's leather jacket, and his body was caged by the ravenette's arms. With big eyes, Taehyung continued to muffle words behind the other's palm.

"Shut. Up." Jeongguk hissed, he then kicked open the front door and pushed the older out to the other side. Taehyung gasped in shock and stumbled over his steps before regaining his balance. He turned to look behind him, only to be met with Jeongguk's dead eyes. "Don't ever come back here."

Then the door slammed shut, right in his face.

Taehyung's heart was racing, chest still heaving as he tried to recover from his shock.

He knew Jeongguk must have his reasons for behaving like that, but still... it was scary.

⛓️ ⛓️ ⛓️

Sungjae invited Taehyung to some sort of race that he's participating in. The brunette didn't know much other than it. At first, he wasn't too keen on going. However, after the little fiasco with Jeongguk earlier, he needed to get his mind off a few things.

What Taehyung didn't know before, was the type of race was considered illegal. He obviously wasn't happy about it, breaking the law was unnecessary. But at this moment he didn't have the energy to argue.

Pulling up to the location, Sungjae immediately saunters over and drapes his arm around Taehyung's shoulders.

"Hey babe," The silver-head gives the other a thick kiss on his cheek. "Glad you came." Taehyung gave a weak smile and discreetly wiped his cheek. He couldn't help but notice the mischievous and sly look in Sungjae's eyes.

He didn't like it.

"What will you be racing in?" He asks, eyes scanning the place to try and figure out what was going on.

"Climbing." Sungjae answered, finger pointing toward a old, abandoned, tall apartment building. Taehyung's orbs widened to the size of apples as he followed the height of the building from the bottom to the top.

"What?" He muttered out. Were they just going to climb up? What?

"No ropes, no nothing." Sungjae continues. "Just our feet and hands. Today it's who reaches the sixth floor first."

"You're crazy." Taehyung whispered out in disbelief. "You're going to die."

"Nah, there's a net at the bottom to catch us." Okay, that reassured Taehyung a little. But still. This was insane.

"And Today I'm racing someone special." The silver-head says with a smirk playing at his lips.

"Who?"

Sungjae's smirk widened.

"Taehyung!" The brunette whipped around to face who was calling out for him, only for his jaw to nearly slack when he spotted an extremely furious-looking Jeongguk approaching him. "What  the fuck are you doing here?!"

The younger's eyes moved up to lock gaze with the older's companion.

"Why did you bring him here?!" He hollered, pulling Taehyung out of Sungjae's grip.

"Damn, chill Jeon. Let go of my date." Jeongguk simply ignored him and pulled the older away, off to the sides. When they were alone, Jeongguk grabbed Taehyung's shoulders and looked straight into his eyes.

"This is not a place for someone like you, Taehyung. Leave." He commanded, facial expression hardened and stern. The brunette's brows furrowed, he was honestly sick of being ordered around.

"Don't forget who's older here, Jeongguk. Don't tell me what to do." He shoved the other's hands off of him. "I'll stay here if I damn want to." Jeongguk let out a frustrated and shaky breath, raking his hand through his dishevelled ebony locks.

"This is not up for discussion. Leave!" The younger barked. Instead of responding, Taehyung simply crossed his arms and stared right into Jeongguk's challenging orbs. The silence between them was thick, but neither of them were backing down.

"J! They're calling for you!" Someone shouted, making Jeongguk break the eye contact.

"I'm coming!" He responded. With one last look at the older, Jeongguk walked back into the crowd. Taehyung sighs and goes back to find Sungjae.

The brunette is surprised when he sees that the person that Sungjae will be racing is Jeongguk. Taehyung lets out a gasp when the silver-head grabs him, then caresses his cheek as he proceeds to shove his tongue down his throat. Taehyung is taken aback, and in shock he lightly kisses him back.

He could hear Jeongguk scoff in the background.

When Sungjae pulls away, he plants one last kiss on the other's cheek and says; "Cheer for me, baby."

With that, both competitors leave to stand at the bottom of the building, ready to start climbing.

The countdown begins.

And Taehyung is unsure about who exactly he should be cheering for.
