The next day, Albert and the others got up and ate breakfast. Albert and his daughter and girlfriend ate in their home, while Amata and her team ate at the Brass Lantern.

After that, Albert and Sarah left Marie with Lucas Simms and his son, and they all headed off to the Citadel.

On their way there they actually didn't run into too much trouble, which was odd.

"Are you sure they're not just taking us somewhere to have us killed?" asked Officer Kendall.

"Trust me. If I wanted to kill you pricks, I would've done so already" said Albert.

This just made Amata and the rest of her team super uncomfortable. Amata then decided to try to change the subject.

"So, what's the deal with your friends, Albert? Susie met the super mutant and the dog before when she ran into you out here, but what about the ghoul, the robot, the woman in power armor, and the guy with the shaved head?" asked Amata.

"They have names, you know. The super mutant's name is Fawkes, the dog's name is Dogmeat, the ghoul's name is Charon, the robot's name is RL-3, the name of the woman in power armor is Cross, and the fella with the shaved head is named Jericho" said Albert.

"How did you meet them, though? Amata asked.

"I found Dogmeat in a scrapyard just a few days after you exiled me. His old owner had been killed by raiders, so I decided to keep him" said Albert.

"Why would you name him Dogmeat?" asked Amata.

"I'm not really sure why I went with that name. It just seemed to pop into my head. I met Cross at the Citadel as soon as I got there. She actually knew me and dad before we knew you guys; she helped escort me and my dad to Megaton when I was a baby, then me and him went to Vault 101" said Albert.

"Really?" said Amata.

"That's right. Then I met Fawkes in Vault 87 when I was trying to find a G.E.C.K. for Project Purity" said Albert.

"Why is he a super mutant?" asked Amata.

"Because that's what the scientists in Vault 87 did to him and the other dwellers. They used a thing called FEV and transformed them all into super mutants" said Albert.

"Wait, what?!" said Amata.

"That's right. You think all vaults are the same? Of course not. The vaults are each experiments conducted by Vault Tec. Vault 87's experiment was that they experimented on it's inhabitants with FEV, which is what turns people into Super Mutants. Vault 112, which was where I found my dad, had this virtual reality simulation called 'Tranquility Lane'. Vault 92 was full of musicians, and it had this white noise that made it's inhabitants go crazy and kill each other. Vault 106 had this drug in the ventilation system that made the inhabitants suffer from hallucinations. When I was there I saw hallucinations of you, my dad, your dad, and the Tunnel Snakes. Vault 108 had this cloning technology, and it had clones of this one guy named Gary, and they could only say their own name, Gary. And Vault 101's experiment was that it was supposed to stay closed forever and the Overseer was supposed to be dictatorial, but we all know that didn't work out" said Albert.

"That can't be true!" said Amata.

"Oh, it is. I downloaded data from each vault onto my Pip-Boy. Here it is" said Albert as he help up his Pip-Boy and showed Amata all his info on the vaults in the Capital Wasteland.

"I... I can't believe it" said Amata in disbelief.

"I know, right? The vaults were never meant to protect anyone. To Vault-Tec, we were all just lab rats. Well... at least you guys were. Me and my dad weren't because we weren't born in the vault" said Albert.

"You don't have to call us lab rats" said Amata.

"But I want to, so I will. Anyways, then I met Charon in a place called the Underworld, it's actually what's left of the National History Museum. He had this contract from another ghoul named Ahzrukhal, but he was an evil bastard. I bought Charon's contract from him for 2000 caps, and then Charon killed Ahzrukhal. I met Jericho in Megaton when I first got there. He used to be a raider, but I eventually persuaded him to join my team and do some good in the world so he could redeem himself for the things he did. I bought RL-3 from a guy on the edge of the Capital Wasteland. As for Butch, I found him at the bar at Rivet City right after you exiled me. Eventually, I persuaded him to join my team, as well" said Albert.

Albert then heard a noise.

"Hang on" said Albert as he stopped everyone.

"It's quiet... too quiet" said Albert.

Suddenly, Albert heard movement from above.

"We're being watched" said Albert as he pulled out his hunting rifle.

Suddenly, a gunshot was heard, but Albert moved out of the way at the last second, causing the bullet to hit the ground.

"SNIPER!" shouted Sarah.

Everyone got to cover. Albert and Sarah hid behind a rusted old car. Amata, Susie, and Christine hid behind another rusted car. Fawkes, Dogmeat, Charon, and Butch hid behind a rusted truck. Jericho, Cross, and RL-3 hid behind a nearby building. And the Vault 101 security guards hid in an old rusted bus.

Albert peaked behind the car to see that the shots were coming from the roof of a nearby building.

"I have an idea" said Albert.

He pulled out a Stealth-Boy and turned invisible, then he entered the building and went up to the roof, then he snuck up behind the sniper, disarmed him, and started punching him in the face non-stop.

Once Albert turned visible again, he noticed that the sniper was wearing Talon Company armor.

"So, Talon thinks they can send another one of their henchmen to take me out, do they?" Albert said.

"Fuck you! You may have killed our boss, but Talon Company is still stronger than ever!" the sniper spat.

Albert then pulled out Occam's Razor.

"I looted this knife off your boss's corpse. Ironic that it's gonna be the weapon that ended your life" said Albert before slitting the sniper's throat with it.

"You got him?" asked Sarah from down below.

"I got him, babe" said Albert as he sheathed Occam's Razor.

After that they continued walking until they made it to the Citadel.

"Hey, I know this place. This is the Pentagon. We learned about it in school" said Amata.

"Well now it's the Citadel. HQ of the Brotherhood of Steel" said Albert.

They approached the entrance, but then they were stopped by Paladin Bael, who was guarding the entrance.

"Sorry, Sentinel, but only you, Star Paladin Jefferson, and his team are allowed in the Citadel. The vault dwellers will have to wait outside" said Bael.

"Amata, you and your team wait here. We'll be back in half an hour" said Albert.

"We're just supposed to wait out here in the open? What if we get attacked again?!" said Amata.

"You'll be fine" said Albert as he and the others went inside the Citadel.

Once they were inside, they went to the meeting room to talk to Elder Lyons.

"So, I take it the Enclave squadron has been dealt with?" asked Elder Lyons.

"It has, father. But we have something else we need to talk to you about" said Sarah.

"What is it?" asked Elder Lyons.

"You know the vault I'm from? Vault 101?" said Albert.

"Of course. You wear that armored Vault 101 jumpsuit all the time" said Elder Lyons.

"Well, it's opened up again, in fact there are some people from there waiting right outside the Citadel as we speak. They're here to work with the people of the Capital Wasteland, like setting up trade routes and using the vault as a shelter to help wastelanders and stuff. We were wondering if the Brotherhood could help with this. Like maybe send some men to help the guard the vault and maybe send the people there some supplies" said Albert.

"Hmmm... That doesn't sound like a bad idea. And we could certainly use a place to keep wastelanders safe. Alright then, I'll send some soldiers to help Vault 101" said Elder Lyons.

They then brought in a Paladin and some Knights into the meeting room.

"Listen up, we're on a mission to help Vault 101, the place Star Paladin Jefferson grew up, become a place to help the wasteland. We're gonna be escorting some of it's people back there and give them some supplies" said Sarah.

Sarah then pointed to the Paladin of the group.

"What's your name, Paladin?" asked Sarah.

"Paladin Danse, ma'am" said the Paladin.

"Do you think your squad can handle looking after some Vault Dwellers?" asked Sarah.

"Affirmative, Sentinel" said Danse.

"Good. But before we head out there, let's make sure you're all ready. So, we're gonna do some target practice real quick" said Albert.

About two hours later, they exited the Citadel with Paladin Danse and his squad.

"You said you would be back in half an hour! But it's been almost two hours!" said Amata in annoyance.

"We decided to get some lunch and do some target practice to make sure these soldiers are in top shape" said Albert.

After that they began traveling back to Vault 101, but first they stopped at Megaton.

"Why are we stopping here?" Amata asked.

"Butch, Charon, Jericho, and I need to get some Power Armor in case any of those vault pricks try to attack us" said Albert.

A few minutes later, they came back out in Power Armor. Albert was wearing the suit of T-45 Power Armor that Sarah gave him the day they took back Project Purity. Charon was wearing the suit of T-51 Power Armor he, Albert, and Dogmeat found in an old military base. Butch was wearing a suit of Enclave Hellfire Power Armor that had both the Brotherhood of Steel symbol, and the Tunnel Snakes symbol painted on it. And Jericho was wearing Ashur's suit of Power Armor that Albert got from the Pitt, plus a T-45 Power Armor helmet that Albert had painted black and yellow to match the Power Armor.

Albert also had a very familiar looking 10mm pistol with him. Amata recognized it as the gun she gave him the day he left the vault two years ago.

"Why do you have that?" Amata asked.

"Just in case" said Albert.

Amata didn't want to know what he meant by that.

After that they headed to Vault 101. They stood outside the vault door, about to open it.

'Home sweet home' Albert said in his head.
