Chapter Three

When I woke up, my head hurt. I rubbed it as I took in my surroundings. There was a girl. She looked dumbfounded as she struggled to find words.

"You.. The sky... WHAT?" she stuttered. She looked strange. Well, not the girl in general, but what she was wearing.

"What are you wearing?" I asked before I knew what I was saying.

After she had looked down and saw nothing was wrong, she looked up scowling. "I could ask you the same thing! Is this the location for some sort of convention meet? Honestly, ever heard of jeans?" she asked looking honestly concerned.

"Convention? Is that some sort of magic meet?" I asked, trying to recall anything from my classes that mentioned that word.

Honestly who was this girl? I was just walking home from school and suddenly she fell, completely dead-looking onto the ground! That's right! After a fall like that, SHE SHOULD BE DEAD! As I thought about all these things, I looked at her. She seemed to be trying to recall something. And what was with her getup? She was wearing dark violet robes and a giant hat in the same color. She must be crazy hot.

"Well?" I said to her.

She looked up, confused. "Huh?"

"What do you want to do? You look like an idiot who's hanging out on the side of the street. Come with me and I'll get you something at least more decent that that." I gestured towards her outfit. She frowned, but followed. I was still in my school uniform so I wanted to get home as soon as possible and change. Girly clothes annoyed me. However, my mom always seemed to sneak some in my closet. I had to make my own stash of non-girly clothes. I figured she wouldn't mind wearing the girly ones, seeing as she was wearing a skirt. As we walked to my house, my thoughts were louder than ever. But somehow, I could still hear... Humming. The girl was humming. What was her deal? She was carrying a broomstick and a book. And wore a whistle around her neck. "Just who
is this girl anyways?" I thought for the millionth time. We reached my house and I grabbed the doorknob, but faltered. If mom sees her... Will she think I brought a friend home... I decided to make a run for it. I braced myself. I grabbed the girl's arm, turned the doorknob, heard the click of it opening, and dashed up to my room.

"You home, sweetie?" I heard my mom call from downstairs.

"Uh. Ya mom!" I yelled back.

"Want a snack?"

"No!" I yelled back, almost immediately. "Alright." I faced the mysterious girl. "We need to get you into something appropriate and fast." I shoveled through my drawer as the girl behind me smiled and hummed to herself. She looked as though nothing had happened. As though she'd never fallen from the sky... Maybe that was me going a little crazy. I decided to tough it out and ask. "Wait so," I started. She turned, a look of question on her face. "Did you really fall from... The sky or anything?" I muttered.

She looked a little troubled. "Hmm. Ya I guess so!" I almost slipped.

"What do you mean you guess so? WE'RE TALKING FELL OUT OF THE SKY HERE!" Ah. My lion showed. I was known in my class as the lion because of my random outbursts when I was upset. I exhaled loudly. "Here, put these on. There's a bathroom down the hall."

"Do I need to change? I thought this was pretty normal.." she said.

I did a double take. "LIKE HECK IT IS! Go change!" She looked like she was concentrating. She muttered something I couldn't hear and there was a poof. A cloud of something that smelled like perfume filled the air and I coughed. I heard her coughing as well. When I opened my eyes, the clothes I had given her... Were on already. I gaped. This girl... Might be more strange than I thought.
