Chapter 2 : The Silver Haired Beauty
Third Person's P.O.V :-
"No, Seojun hyung! He told me with his own lips! That was his son!" V whined while he chopped carrots in preparation for the next day's Gimbap sales.
Seojun rolled his eyes while he mixed the corndog batter,"So what? He said he had a son, he didn't say he had a wife" He grumbled as he poured more water to achieve the right consistency.
"He has a son who looks to be around 5 years old, it's only natural he'd have a spouse to accompany him since he told me he travels around a lot for work purposes!" V complained as he felt like crying, he really liked Jimin, why did the man of his dreams need to have a wife and son.
Just then the door opened and Choi Wooshik, the other intern of the restaurant, entered the room. He looked at both of his friends sitting on the floor preparing ingredients in advance for the next day with frowns on their faces and raised a curious eyebrow,"Who died?" He asked nonchalantly before the gears in his head started turning and his eyes widened,"Oh my God, don't tell me the boss extended our work hours! Or even worse! Did he say he'll keep the restaurant open on Sunday?!" He shrieked while he put the plastic bag holding bottles of sauces on the counter and rushed towards his coworkers on the floor.
V just rolled his eyes and went back to diligently chopping the carrots while Seojun laughed at his antiques. Wooshik looked back and forth between them in confusion,"What? What's happening? Why are you guys keeping information from me? I thought we were homies!" He complained as he lightly shoved V back who took it without batting an eye.
Seojun looked at Wooshik's pouty face and couldn't help but feel endeared by him,"Our V has a crush" He softly provided making both of his colleagues snap their heads towards him with wide eyes.
"HYUNG! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP THAT A SECRET!!!" V yelled out with red cheeks, unable to believe his favourite Seojun hyung just outed him like that.
"WHAT THE HELL?! A CRUSH?! HOLY SHIT!!" Wooshik exclaimed in excitement as he looked back at V with a lit up face and instantly took him in a headlock,"Damn bro! Congratulations!! Who is she?!" He asked out in excitement as he let go of a flabbergasted V and immediately cupped his face, waiting for an answer.
"It's a he actually" Seojun generously provided from the side, making Wooshik look at his way.
"No way, V's got a man crush?? This is the first one after two whole years!" He called out with wide eyes and let go of V's face,"Please tell me you have a picture of him! I wanna know who has managed to charm him!" He requested as he crawled towards Seojun and looked at him like a kicked puppy.
Seojun laughed and shook his head,"Unfortunately, none of us have his picture, although V has his number but he's refusing to call him because he thinks his crush is a married man with a child and wife" He informed in a tired tone as he took off his gloves after finally being satisfied with the consistency of the batter.
"So?" Wooshik suddenly asked out arrogantly making both of his coworkers look at him in high alert,"Even if he is, compete and win him over!" He yelled out with a puffed out chest as if he was proud of his words.
Both V and Seojun looked at each other with a done expression before they turned back to face him.
"Okay, what type of problematic kdramas have you been watching now? That was not a good advice" Seojun asked as he lightly knocked on Wooshik's head, checking if the top floor was empty or not.
"The day I start taking your advice is the day world ends" V grumbled under his breath as he got up from his spot and walked inside the kitchen with his tray of chopped carrots to them all into an air tight container.
"Rude!" Wooshik yelled out after V, in response of which the later just flipped him off.
"Just ask him if he has a wife, if he says yes, respectfully back off, if he says no, shoot your shot" Seojun said walking inside the kitchen to get a container to put the battar in.
V mused his lips together while he carefully considered Seojun's words,"Alright, I'll try to ask tonight but how do I begin the conversation" He asked as he turned to look at Seojun who was busy pouring the battar inside the container.
"Just a simple hi or hey? Say that you've been wondering if he's married or not, you know? Just be honest and casual about it" Seojun suggested.
"Boo, that idea will tank, he'd realise your intentions immediately and get creeped out" Wooshik spoke aloud, following his two friends inside the kitchen.
"Well, then do you have any better ideas?" V asked as he glared up at Wooshik who kept on shutting down plan A without providing any plan B.
"Send dog pics, it always grabs the attention in the most harmless way, you have Yeontan, don't you? Take advantage of him, put him to work!" Wooshik encouraged while he munched on a little piece of carrot.
"Fuck off, my Tan is not some kind of bait" V grumbled as he hit Wooshik's back lightly.
"You always think my ideas are garbage" Wooshik sighed soundly while he helped V by putting the residue carrots, left behind on the chopping board, in the container.
"Because they are" V confirmed in a casual tone and walked over to the sink to take off his gloves and wash his hands.
Seojun looked up at the pouting Wooshik and chuckled,"Don't take V's words to the heart, he's just angsty tonight" He reassured gently.

"Thank you for the hard work, everyone, good night!" V yelled on his way out and closed the door of his boss's house. All the employees gather there every night to meal prep for the next day. It usually took them hours to finish all the preparations, sometimes it even took them till midnight to finish, fortunately, today V was so preoccupied with his thoughts, he didn't even realise he finished earlier than everybody else and was allowed to leave first.
The night sky was sparkling with stars, V smiled looking up and stopped momentarily to take a picture. He sighed in content as he observed the serene atmosphere. He suddenly felt like visiting the lagoon as he picked up his pace and made his way towards the beautiful lake.
He had only stepped on to the wooden bridge when he noticed the lone figure standing at the other end of the bridge. The moonlight was strong that night, V was thankful for that otherwise he was sure he'd get scared thinking it was a ghost sighting.
Strangely nobody else was hanging around the bridge, he found it strange, normally all the tourists would be there long after the sunset. V glanced down at his watch.
08:26 PM.
'Ah, so that's why' V thought as he looked up and walked on ahead. He remembered it rained in the evening, everybody else must have retreated to their hotel rooms and felt lazy to come out again in such a cozy weather. V couldn't blame them, he wanted to quickly return home and snuggle up close to Yeontan as well. He told himself he'd take a quick picture of the lagoon shining under the moonlight and be back on his way immediately.
However, his plans changed abruptly when he looked up from observing the waves of the lagoon and saw the lone figure looking back at him.
Park Jimin was looking back at him.
V felt his eyes widen as he took in the appearance of his crush standing under the moonlight in front of him. His platinum blonde hair was being ruffled due to the wind while the moonlight directly fell over him, almost casting a hollow over his head. His white flowy shirt paired with the white flowy pants, we're obviously not helping the case.
Forget ghost sightings, V discovered something called an angel sighting. Jimin looked like a mythical creature straight out of some fairy tale while he stood there at the edge of the bridge with the glistening blue lagoon water surrounding him and the moon shining over his head.
V felt breathless the longer he stared.
Jimin was staring at him with a frown occupying his face, V momentarily panicked thinking Jimin was sick and tired of coming across him three times a day until he realised he was standing under the shade, like some dark and mysterious figure plotting something bad.
"Oh no!" He gasped under his breath and instantly speed-walked out of the shade to come stand in the light,"Jimin-ssi! It's me!" He called out as he walked closer.
The frown on Jimin's face slowly started to melt away as he recognised the person walking towards him as the intern from the restaurant.
"V-ssi, what a surprise, I didn't think anyone would come here tonight, the water level had increased due to the rain, another hour long rain and the bridge will be submerged" Jimin whispered out as he glanced back at the gentle waves crashing into the bridge.
"Ah, yes, the weather has become pleasant after the rain, I'm thinking everyone is bundled up in a cozy blanket, sipping on a cup of coffee" V gently whispered with a smile, staring at Jimin's beautiful face in adoration.
"Must be nice" Jimin trailed off in exhaustion as he yawned a little and pushed his hands down in his pockets,"I've been busy making power points and attending calls until now, I couldn't enjoy the weather at all so I came out tonight to enjoy the night and let loose a little" He whispered with a tired smile.
His pink lips were shining with the light being illuminated on the lake waves.
'I want to kiss him' V thought while he gulped.
"I've been stuck in a room, doing the meal prep for tomorrow as well, it really sucks to be in such a beautiful place yet having a time consuming job" He answered and laughed a little while he watched Jimin grinning and nodding in agreement.
They stood there in complete silence while he looked at the beautiful lake. V glanced at his side to see a lost expression on Jimin's face, as if he had a lot on his mind. His curiosity was getting the best of him as he wondered what was troubling the beautiful boy beside him.
"Um, would you like to sit on the edge and wet feet in the water?" V asked out meekly, waiting for Jimin's answer.
The silver haired beauty blinked a little at the question and turned to V,"Sounds like a great idea, I heard soaking feet in cold water is a great stress reliever" He uttered in an attentive tone.
V smiled,"Then, after you" He gestured like a gentleman and laughed when Jimin giggled. Both of them made their ways over to the very edge and sat down, dipping their feet into the cool water.
The wind blew past them and Jimin's fragrance consumed V's being. It was a floral smell with hints of citrus mixed into it. V found himself breathing in deeply, seemingly addicted to it. The smell was so compelling that he wanted to lean over and nuzzle Jimin's neck.
In the back of his mind, V wondered if Jimin knew how nice he smelt. Wondered how many more people had the fortune to be that close to Jimin and take in his scent.
V felt envious towards everyone who had the opportunity to be close to Jimin on an intimate level. If he could, he would covet Jimin only for himself, only allowing himself to smell Jimin's floral scent for the rest of his life.
"I've been wondering, V-ssi" Jimin spoke up gaining V's attention,"Why were you named Vincente Garcia?" He asked while looking at V.
V perked up at Jimin's words,"You remembered my full name!" He spoke out in a hushed yet gleeful tone.
"I mean, it'll be quite rude of me to forget the name of my first friend in Bacalar" Jimin answered in an unpretentious way while he had hints of mirth mixed into his voice, his eyes teasing as he gazed back at V.
V's heart skipped a bit. He really wanted to kiss Jimin.
"Jimin-ssi is very intuitive" V said aloud with blushing cheeks as he tore his gaze away from Jimin's handsome face and look far ahead towards the lagoon.
"I'm an orphan, I was named in the local orphanage, they were old and had no idea about Korean culture or names so they just gave me the most common Mexican name and surname" He explained the silly reason behind his weird name and laughed awkwardly.
Jimin started to frown,"Oh I'm so sorry" He whispered, a little guilty that he made V remember a painful memory.
"No, no, there's no need to be sorry, Jimin-ssi, it just has been so long, remembering the fact that I don't have any parents doesn't hurt anymore, plus I never even knew them, I can't miss something that I never had" He supplied softly, putting a gentle hand on Jimin's shoulder, comforting the sad boy.
"No, it's just.." Jimin slowly uttered out as tears glisten in his eyes,"Hearing you mention it just brought back some memories, I lost my parents at an young age as well" He whispered as he pulled his feet out of the water and brought them close to his chest, wrapping his arms around it while he rested his chin over his knees.
"My mother, she committed suicide after going through terrible domestic and verbal abuse, my father, he couldn't cope with mother's death and drove towards a speeding truck, he died on the spot" Jimin mumbled while tears fell down his cheeks, he, too, was looking far ahead into the lagoon water while he took a trip down the memory lane.
V stared at Jimin's side profile with sympathetic eyes,"Jimin-ssi.." He trailed off with a heavy heart.
Jimin was brought out of his daze at V calling his name and wiped away his tears in a rush,"Look at me, crying over this like a child, sorry about tha-" Jimin was trying to force those words out in a cheerful voice but before he could even finish he felt V gently engulf him in a big hug from the side.
V had wrapped his arms around Jimin's frame and embraced him while resting his chin on Jimin's shoulder,"You're allowed to cry" He lovingly whispered, his mouth only a few inches away from Jimin's ear.
"The reason it still hurts is because you never allowed yourself to grief over it, suppressing emotions can be painful, specially when you let those feelings get bottled up inside of you without giving them closure, let them out, you're allowed to mourn no matter how long it has been" V whispered tenderly as he rubbed soothing circles on Jimin's back.
Jimin felt his eyes well up as he heard V's words, he tightly held the arm that embraced him, like his life depended on it, and let more tears fall. Soon a sob wobbled out of his lips while he shook and cried within V's arms, who kept on rubbing his back, encouraging him to cry more, to let it all out.
Jimin cried. He cried about the loss of his parents. Cried about the neglect of his family towards him, telling him to get his act together immediately after he lost both of his parents. Cried about the rude way everyone behaved with him for being a crybaby. Cried about being discriminated by the clan members for being his mother's son. Cried about his grandmother blaming the death of his father upon his beloved deceased mother. Cried about not even being allowed to properly mourn his parents. Cried about no longer having his best friend in his life who was his only support after his parents' death. Cried about his unrequited love.
Cried about still holding feelings for Jeon Taehyung.
V observed the pain Jimin was pouring out and felt his own throat getting choked up. He held Jimin closer and let him weep under the moonlight.
It had been a few minutes and Jimin had visibly calmed down than before as he now opted to just silently stare out into the lagoon.
V, who had been holding onto him until now, slowly let go and leaned back,"Would you like some water, Jimin-ssi? Your throat must be sore and aching" V slowly offered, tenderly, trying to be careful.
Jimin slowly nodded as he let go of V's arm which he had been clutching close to his chest until now.
"Then can I ask you to come to my place? It's close by, I swear!" V started out slowly and then quickly added the last part, hating the idea of a misunderstanding in that vulnerable moment.
Jimin stared up at V's nervous form, observing for a few seconds while his wet eyes took in all of V's facial features, including his red cheeks before he silently nodded, agreeing to it.
