JUNGKOOK/TAEHYUNG/(JIMIN)

"Do you really think he's ready?" Jimin asks. It's morning and Jungkook is mentally preparing himself.

"We won't know unless we try," the younger answers. He has made sure to tell his colleagues to stay away from them, and not stare or act weird. He wants Taehyung to feel safe on his first experience of being outside after so long.

"Okay... well, see you tonight at my house!" Yoongi has finally been discharged, and they are still going to party! Jungkook's kinda getting depressed that he has no flirt for the party... Hoseok maybe? Nah, Yoongi seems protective over him.

They say goodbye before Jungkook walks to Taehyung's room. The boy is watching him as he steps inside, his body shaking already.

Jungkook feels something in his chest tightening. He hates seeing Taehyung this scared. Scared of something so simple as walking outside a room.

He's truly traumatized.

"Hey Tae," Jungkook begins. He decides to spend a few minutes inside the room, calming Taehyung down and talking about normal stuff.

"Should we give it a try?" Jungkook asks.

Taehyung feels like throwing up. He's so freaking scared it hurts. But there's something inside of him that is eager for the outside and has been for years.

He nods and lets Jungkook lift him from the floor gently.

His legs shiver uncontrollably, and he has to use Jungkook for support to stay up.

"Okay Tae, I'm going to open the door and let you stand in it for a minute, then you can walk out when you feel comfortable," Jungkook explains.

The raven walks to the door and opens it. He places himself outside and waits for Taehyung as the boy hesitantly stands in the doorframe.

Jungkook doesn't push him or anything. He knows that things like these take time and that something like this is extremely challenging for Taehyung.

The said male keeps standing in the frame, trying to keep his breathing steady. It's just a single step, yet he's so scared.

People must really think he's pathetic for being scared to step out a door... but it's still so hard for him to leave behind something he knows is safe.

After inhaling loudly, he finally takes the step. He feels like his foot sinks into the ground and everything gets blurry for his eyes.

But it disappears like dew before the sun as Jungkook grabs around his waist, preventing him from meeting face to face with the cold cement floor.

"It's okay," Jungkook assures, smiling brightly. Taehyung feels sick, but Jungkook's arm around him makes him feel safe enough to continue.

Taehyung slowly reaches for the door that leads to the main hall. He's surprised by how heavy it is.

Jungkook helps him push it open and the younger's eyes widen as he looks outside.

His eyes are met with the sun shining through the windows, something he hasn't seen in years. His fears are drowned in curiosity as he takes a small step forward, Jungkook still holding a secure arm around him.

There aren't many people around, and Taehyung is totally fascinated by the many plants and high ceilings in the building.

Jungkook can't help but smile at the brunette's excited eyes. He can feel the other's heart banging against his rip case, probably adrenaline pumping through his veins.

"Shall we continue?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung quickly hides his face in Jungkook's shirt, letting the elder lead him blindly through the halls.

So cute! Jungkook has truly become so soft lately. Taehyung barely has to exist before Jungkook will throw himself on his knees and do anything he begs for. But who wouldn't? Look at that!

Jungkook looks down at the smaller who's still hiding in his chest. Jungkook gives smiles and greeting to the people walking by them, each one being surprised and proud that Jungkook was actually able to the Taehyung outside his safe zone.

"Tae, look up" he whispers as they have entered the cafeteria.

Taehyung smells the different kinds of foods right away, his stomach rumbling loudly.

Jungkook chuckles at that.

"Should we get something to eat? You can have whatever you want," Jungkook assures.

Whatever he wants? Taehyung has never tried that before. Choosing for himself. It scares him, yet he's so excited he's about to explode.

Jungkook lets the boy stick to him like a koala as they walk over to the buffet.

"There's so much," Taehyung squeaks out. He wants to try it all!

Finally.

Finally, he feels something he hasn't felt in years. Freedom to choose.
