MY FIFTIETH INTERVIEW !!!! WOW!

lets get right on to the interview, here we have

italics=  my awesomeness

gifs and images are added by me :)

vote.comment. share. be awesome.

1. Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?

About myself? Oh, okay. Well this is pretty common knowledge but I'm a student (University) and I'm studying a degree in science (Biochem) and so I'm practically doing nothing to do with writing, journalism or even much creativity. That means that this is kind of my creative output. I'm a shít artist and not musically talented at all but writing is my jam. I've always felt like this is my own creative thing I am not so terrible at.
As for something not many people know...Well, this is difficult because I'm a pretty open person except one or two things which would take way too long to get into on here. So I guess I'm just going to leave it.

Pt2: What made you want to become a writer?
Power. We can't mold the world around us to what we want but if we create our own then we can. Although now as a 'better' writer I would say that I sort of give my characters life and they dictate to me where they want to go, the same principle sort of applies. Similar for the reader, for the writer too it is a form of escapism and I think like for a lot of people when you can't control the events around you, you hold onto what you can control. For me that was my writing. And so for years and years, I didn't tell anyone about it in my real life because for me it was something that was entirely mine. And something that was completely personal to me. It still is but a few more people know about it know is all.

you remind me of a spy. A secret writer!

2. What is the story behind your username? What should i expect if i meet you?
Haha, well.... I've been on Wattpad a while and I started writing just when I was nearing the end of my teens and therefore when I was picking out my username, knowing I wanted to write 'sexy' stories, I wanted that to be reflected. Now, I do not think it's 'sexy' at all but I also don't know what I'd change it to if I did.
If you ever met me I don't know. I don't know the type of person you imagine from my username, profile and writing so I don't know if I'd be a complete 180 for you or not. I can only tell you what my friends and those who know me have said about me, so here it is: I'm an overachiever (or rather I am quite academic), I can be extroverted but I do like my own space a lot of the time, I'm sassy as hell (the more I like you, the sassier I'll be to you), I'm organized to the n-th degree and need everything scheduled. Physically, I don't have a crazy dress sense, but I do like my tight jeans, I love dresses that I rarely wear, I love heels I can't walk in and I have an obsession with jewelry.

so damn relatable girl! especially heels I cant walk in ...:)

Pt2: What is your ultimate story of starting Wattpad??
Unfortunately, there's no grand theatrics for this one. It's pretty dull. I had a friend who was writing on here and she let me have a read of her story (something she actually-like never did) so I read it and she'd got up to an end making-up scene and she confessed to me that she really wanted to write in a love-making chapter. But since this was really uncomfortable for her, I volunteered to write it for her and then she could tweak it if she wanted. She used it, loved it and I loved writing it. So I decided to create my own account and start writing myself. Unfortunately, my friend decided to focus on her studies and left Wattpad but I was too hooked and couldn't leave. So here I am now, trapped forever.

trapped forever!  i don't think anyone is complaining !! and me personally is so glad!!

3. When, where, how and why you entered the world of writing? Give us your own cute writer story :)
I think I've sort of answered this before in first question but I can certainly elaborate. If I go way back, then I know I used to write in a diary as a kid. And I mean very basic things like, my dad did this, I did this, blah blah blah. But that was my way of getting out whatever frustrating thing was in my life. Later, I started doing this less and less but reading more and more. I loved reading and the way I was transported. But as I grew older I wanted to be the one to control something I suppose. Then there was my teenage angst phase where I think, like most teens I was lost too and writing was my anchor. I had my own issues but that time I took writing characters and storylines which I knew the endings to and I could alter, always seemed to calm me down. So yeah, not exactly cute but that's how I really 'entered' writing.

Pt2: What are turn on's and off's of meeting a new person?

It's the usual thing really. I like to think that I have a pretty good intuition about people. So I know the kind of people that would seriously píss me off and I avoid them like hell. But if we want to get specific...
Turn on's (and I mean in terms of any relationship, friendship or otherwise): being genuine, being able to listen, having a sense of humor (this is subjective but I think it's something that's on most people's list), generally being a positive person, drive, ambition, heart, respect and of course, knowing when to call your BS. Oh and loving TV shows and chocolate in general. I don't trust anyone who doesn't love chocolate (unless you're lactose intolerant, in which case I understand).

Turn off's: complaining way too much (I mean like, all the time), criticizing everything, being too dependent, needing something or someone to validate your own self-worth, being self-destructive, completely lazy, completely slobish, being condescending. Oh and of course, being homophobic, racist, sexist etc.

huge round of applause to her for being so awesome!!!

4. State three qualities about yourself that could make anyone recognize you from a huge crowd of people?
1) Anxious. I'm probably the one already thinking about what I have to do next or where I have to be next.

2) Smiling. My friends tried to pinch my cheeks as hard as they could once and I barely felt a thing. My cheek muscles are so strong from smiling pretty much all the time.

3) If I'm in a huge crowd then I'm also probably annoyed. I hate big crowds and so I would probably be quite frustrated and annoyed that I can't just be where I need to be.

Pt2: Give your hobbies, and favourites and things you hate. Give your strengths, weaknesses, pet peeves, hobbies, passion, dreams, desires?

Hobbies: I love dancing, even if it's just throwing on some music, dragging my house mate and having our own little crazy dance party. I also like reading, writing (obviously), TV (for sure) and hiking (I love to go on long walks in the Dales with my mum).

to brighten everyone's day up :

Hates: I don't hate much. Unpredictability is something I can't do. I don't know what else I really hate. Not much. I don't hate a lot of stuff that's unusual.

Strengths: Pretty solid gal (I would say). Again, maybe it's the cancer thing but once you're in with me that's it. No escaping. I would say I'm a pretty good friend and listener. I'm also very honest, but not to the point of being mean but you can bet that I won't give you fake compliments, comments or advice.

Weaknesses: Convincing me to let loose and throw caution to the wind is difficult. That's not to say that I can't occasionally enjoy the whole 'being in the moment' but that is usually rare. Other weaknesses, as confident as I am, I'm also always very nervous about first impressions and I remember my best friend actually said to me when we met that she thought I was so sweet, lovely and innocent, and then as she got to know me she found I was the exact opposite.
Pet peeves: I don't know. Rudeness. Always nagging or complaining. Sometimes as well if I'm feeling ultra-ornery I get annoyed with people who always manage to look flawless (like how is that even possible?!).
Passions: Apart from science in general. I do love psychological thrillers and weird psychological stuff in general.

Dreams: All over the place. Sometimes weird, sometimes normal and most of the time, I can't even remember.

Desires: Honestly, I just want to get by. In my life, I don't expect I will achieve anything extraordinary but I do hope to lead a happy, healthy, loving life filled with more ups than downs and more happiness than sadness.

5. What would you like to say to you readers/fans and the entire Wattpad community in the form of a speech? Do you have a name for them?
I don't really have a name for my fans-cherrypoppers, maybe?

To my readers/fans and the entire Wattpad community I would like to say this:

Treat Wattpad for the place it is meant to be-a safe haven for book lovers. Help those writers grow and writers allow your readers to entire a world where they can forget all their worries. Be lost in the world of writing and find yourself there too. Make friends, connections and memories. And remember, that behind every story is someone who real who put time, effort and hopefully, passion into it so be mindful but truthful about your words and actions.

Pt2: State 25 random yet interesting facts about you and your characters.(like how they developed, how the names came, why they r the way they are, weird writing rituals etc,)
Holy moly-25?! Okay....Let's see if I can even reach 25 (but I'll do it on my characters since I've done facts about me before):

1) Dane and Emery's story really made it onto Wattpad when I was in the later years of high-school my friend told me about her friend who lost her virginity to her long-time boyfriend. This boyfriend actually tied her hands to the headboard of the bed and gave her an experience of a lifetime so obviously, I was overwhelmed by the fact that essentially, teenagers (though this was more late teens/early 20s) actually participated in bondage so I thought, maybe it's not so unrealistic.

2) For Sam I wanted someone who would really be an opposite to what Adrian thinks he wants in a woman. Starting with her name, I wanted one that could be seen as slightly more masculine or at least gender neutral.

3) Also for Mason and Eli because they're twins I wanted them rather than being quite similar to each other to be totally opposing. So I wanted Mason to be the dark (haired), sensitive, brooding type and Eli to be the chirpy, light-hearted type.

4)Writing the domestic abuse scenes in for Katy's character was just as painful and cringy for me to write as I've been told it was to read. Regardless though, I had a compulsive need to write it in to do the story justice.

5) I almost exclusively write before I go to bed which is probably why I can never write a lot because I'm already nodding off! But for some reason, I find that I am more motivated to write and find it easier to write at the end of the day than at the start. Probably because I know that writing is my leisure time and so at the end of the day, I know I've done all the things I needed to do and it's time to unwind.

6) I purposefully wanted to leave the ethnicity of Katy up to the readers because I feel that just because a character is dark-skinned, doesn't necessarily mean that they're a mix of Caucasian and African.

7) I also didn't feel like defining Katy's ethnicity was important at all. Her skin colour is part of her appearance so of course I needed to describe that but for Katy's character her ethnicity doesn't really make her who she is. (Though I know that this isn't always the case in real life).

8) I like to think about my storylines as I'm drifting off in bed and imagining the 'what if this happened?' and 'what if they then did this?' to prompt me along. I find that I get some of my best ideas like that since I'm not forcing it.

9) On that note, I hate to use detailed storyboards. I have a general gist always of where I want the story to go and usually a few scenes that I most definitely want in the story but I like to organically get my way there and sometimes that does mean that those 'set' scenes have to be altered.

10) Usually with names, I like to use an online name generator and just go through it until I find a name that I like for a certain character. Rarely, if ever, have I picked a character's name because of the meaning of the name. While that's sometimes cool, to me, that feels like it's ruining the story, because it's a little bit of foreshadowing. Also if the name is a little too on the nose for the traits of the character, it ruins the realism for me because it would be very rare that the parent manages to get their child's characteristics when they're older right at birth and names them accordingly.

(Is 10 good enough? Yeah...I think I'm going to stop at 10).

haha thats definitely enough :)

6. What is your favourite movie,tv show, quote, color, book, food, clothing, accessories, actor, actresses, villain, hero, dessert, song, artist, sport, subject, genre, pet, city, country, author, book etc.
Favourite movie: 10 Things I Hate About You (for chick-flick) and for when I'm feeling a bit more energized-Shutter Island.

Favourite TV show: I watch a fair amount of TV shows but my current favourite is definitely Luke Cage (though I am also a big fan of The Flash).'

Favourite Quote: 'This too shall pass'
Favourite Book: (One of my favourite books is) Lolita

Favourite Author: I used to LOVE Meg Cabot (sometimes I still sneakily read it even though I'm not exactly in the age demographic) but nowadays I kind of read whatever catches my eye.

Favourite Food: (Dark) Chocolate (is that even a necessary question?)

Favourite Accessories: Earrings for sure.
Favourite Actor: I don't know? Um...let's go with....Henry Cavill
Favourite Actress: Again, I don't know, maybe...the lady of comedy Tina Fey.

Favourite villain: The Joker

damn....

Favourite hero: Batman (duh.)

Favourite dessert: Black Forest Gateaux (the proper German one).

Favourite song: Again, I don't have one but at the moment I'm really into 'Could Have Been Me' by The Struts (they've got a kick-ass 80s rock sort of vibe).

Favourite artist: *Whispers* Taylor Swift (I know, so basic, whatever. She writes and performs good music)

Favourite sport: Tennis (but really it's more like TV Marathons).

Favourite Subject: Biology

Favourite pet: I've only ever had goldfish (and other fish) as pet so yeah...goldfish.

Favourite city: I have yet to go to a lot of places but one city I would love to visit is Rome.

Favourite country: Don't have one.

7. What is your writing ritual? What type characters do you strongly believe in and love to read about? State the worst and best thing about writing?

I don't have any weird sort of writing ritual. Just sit down and write when the mood strikes me is all.
Of course I love strong characters or at least stories where they develop into strong characters but I do love the occasional cliché for sure.
The worst thing about writing, feeling bad when you don't have any steam to write but feeling like you need to or you should.

The best thing about writing, weaving a tale that (hopefully) has a happy ending and those moments when you get struck with lightening gold ideas and you get really excited to bring it to 'life' is also awesome.

Pt2: How do you think you've evolved creatively?

I think I've learnt to focus on a bigger picture and rather than trying to create a cool storyline I feel like I've progressed into thinking about character changes and development. That for me, now I find is one of the exciting joys of writing.

8. How has writing changed you ? What were your goals and intentions for all your books, and how well do you feel you achieved them? What is your favorite part of your book?

Writing has changed me personally in several ways. First it gave me control when I felt like I had very little. Then it gave me a creative outlet when I felt like my subjects as interesting as they are, don't give me. Lastly it gives me joy.
My goals and intentions for my books were never really focused on 'selling' them or gaining 'votes', or 'reads', or even 'comments' and they still aren't. I do write for me and the like I said the joy it gives me but to share that and to hopefully perk up, or provide entertainment in someone's day is an amazing added bonus. Right now in my life, I don't want to think about being a commercial author and maybe someday in the future that might be a possible opportunity for me, but I'm content and happy to just grow as a writer and explore what I want without restriction.

My favourite part of my books is definitely when I go back over it (cringing at the mistakes, yes but also) I get the memories of how I felt, where I was in that time in my life, writing that part and that nostalgia is my favourite bit.

Pt2: What are some of your weird writing habits? What about weird obsessions both literary and normal life?

I don't (think I) have weird obsessions. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head (and it's not an exciting one) is dishes. So before I go to bed every night, I have to have all my dishes washed and dried. I can't stand going to bed knowing that there's a dirty dish I've left in the sink. Apart from that there's not much else.

9. When do you stop reading a book and why? What puts you off the most while reading a book? What do you think is the ideal chapter length and why?

I generally stop reading if I don't like the character personalities. Usually if the character keeps making the same mistake over and over and over again then I can't. I also don't like it when (especially male) characters are passed off as being dominant and hot, when in reality their a-hole actions are kinda abusive and jerkish.
I also am not a fan of fantasy books so I tend to avoid the sort of adventure fantasy book. Although saying that the one exception is probably the book 'Ender's Game' which was incredible and I loved.

The ideal chapter length for me, is just whenever I feel like it's at a natural pause in the story. I tend to like to end on a strong last sentence or two at the end of my chapters and I usually get a 'feel' of when that chapter should end so I keep going until that happens. Whether this means there's a chapter that's 10 pages long and one that's only 5, doesn't bother me. It just has to sound and feel right is all.

just thought i will add that here...

Pt2: What type of story does makes you want to go running to read it ?

Romance and psychological thrillers usually. If I enjoy the blurb then I'll probably go rushing to read it.

10. What really is hard for you in constructing a story? What affects your decision on writing a end to a story ? Does it writes its own ending somehow? Which character do you most relate to ? why?

The hardest part is probably the middle of the story. Keeping that story going and progressing is tough. I usually have an ending planned out so whenever I feel like the characters have developed to the point where I want them to and events have aligned for that ending, I'll start to bring it to an end. Usually I like to do this with a bang, but sometimes a whimper is okay too.
I think I've mentioned this a few times, but in my stories the character I relate to the most is definitely Sam (Carter Brothers: Adrian). She's stubborn (like me) and a little bit of a tough-chick but inside she's as soft as a marshmellow.

Pt2: What book in your opinion could actually (somehow) turn out to be true ? How?

In terms of my writing I don't think any. I guess Café Rouge would be the truest but even then I seriously doubt it.

11. If you were a book/movie what would be the title and why? IF you could be in any fav book of yours how would the story change? details!!!

If I was a book/movie I guess I'd loved to be titled Two's Company and I'd love it to be some sort of science-fiction type story (since I'm a Biochemist). Maybe with clones in? Or a cool virus that does something awesome (but not a zombie virus since that's overplayed now).
If I could be in any of my favourite books (and I would probably chose a Kristen Ashley one) then I would love to be one of the main protagonists or if I couldn't basically have my own book, then I'd be the sassy friend who talks straight and has a place to crash all the time.

Pt2: What is the most complicated character you have ever seen/read in your life and why?

There are a few that instantly spring to mind, Winston Smith (1984), Alex (A Clockwork Orange), obviously Amy Dunn (Gone Girl) and probably a tonne more that I've missed.

12. What is your writing Kryptonite?Have you ever gotten reader's block? What's your favorite under-appreciated novel?

My kryptonite in terms of novels is definitely one where the two characters have such great chemistry and dialogue.
Reader's block is just a side effect of writing.
My favourite under-appreciated novel? Hm...tough one. It used to be Room but now that's a film. In that case I'm going with...13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I surprisingly enjoyed that book a lot more than I thought I was going to.

Pt2: What gives you inspiration for your book(s)?

My inspiration is my own failure of a love life. Kidding. I'm too much of a workaholic for a love life. But seriously, it's the idea of romance, happiness and having that one person who just gets you.

ikr , everyone is so busyyy...

13. What is your writing style? Silence or music while writing ? why? Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find? What tactics do you have when writing? (For example: outline or just write)

I can't really describe my writing style. It just is as it is (?).
I prefer music until I hit my groove and find my stride, then I like silence because it gives me that focus and concentration whereas music kind of just gets me into the zone and eases me into concentrating.
I don't hide stuff in my book! Maybe I should do that.
I tend to have a story plot in my head and more of an idea of the characters rather than all the details of their story and then I write. Usually for filler bits it's a case of just sitting and typing but for the main events I'll have clear ideas of it.

14. If you could write about anyone fiction/nonfiction who would you write about? What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

I wouldn't want to write about anyone because those characters belong to their respective owners and they made them the way they are and I honestly would not want to change that at all. I would much rather create my own characters.

The character in my book I'm funnily am probably most likely to get along with is probably Emery, I say it's funny because she's one of the first characters I wrote.

Pt2: Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from?

I wasn't very good at English and I was painfully shy as a young child so I read a lot. From that I started writing and that's really where it came from.

15. What would the main character in your book have to say about you? Any website or resources that have been helpful to you as a writer?

They probably would think I'm sassy, a little anti-social and a straight-talker. I imagine I would get along very well with some of them and not so much for others. I tend to just Google whatever I need but since I'm more of a romance writer there's not much resources I need.

Pt2: Have you thought about joining with another author to write a book? What is the biggest surprise that you experienced after becoming a writer?

I did think about collaborations but since this isn't my full-time profession and since it would be an interaction online it's very difficult for me to do that. My biggest surprise was the acceptance and overwhelming positive response I got back from people about my writing.

16. Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite?

I can't have a favourite character but I do love Adrian Carter. He's my baby.

Pt2: Have you written any other books that are not published on wattpad? Details?

Nope.

17. What have you put most of your effort into regarding writing? What literary pilgrimages have you gone on?

Since writing is a leisure activity for me, of course I put effort into my writing but I wouldn't say that I exactly prepare my writing as I would for an exam. It's for fun and if there's something I stumble upon when reading another book that sparks something in me, then I'll try mold it to me and my characters.

Pt2: Does writing energize or exhaust you? What is the first book that made you cry?

A bit of both usually. I usually feel low starting writing then once I hit my stride I peak up and feel energized but nearing the end of my chapter or idea I feel exhausted again. I can't remember the first book that made me cry but books do make me cry. If I get so into a story and so invested in it, I am an emotional reader so the tears do start to trickle.

 18. What authors did you dislike at first but grew into? As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal? How many hours a day do you write?

I usually stay away from authors I don't like.
My writing spirit animal/mascot/avatar is probably a kitten. I can feel perky sometimes and extremely sleepy other times and I sort of do what I please. Hours a day?! I don't have time for that. Writing is sparodic for me. I try do a bit each night and by a bit I mean about 30 minutes, sometimes it's 0 and sometimes it is a few hours.

Pt2: What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

I do the research more as I write because sometimes, not everything needs to be detailed as much as possible.

19. Do you believe in writer's block? What one thing would you give up to become a better writer?

I do believe in writer's block because I've had it. To be a better writer, the only thing that needs to be given up is time. Time and effort but that's not exactly 'giving' anything up. Apart from that-nothing.

Pt2: What was your hardest scene to write?

Definitely Katy's abuse scenes for obvious reasons.

20. What's the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?

Making sure they have chemistry and are compatible. Even in the real world, flirting, dating and courtship is difficult so of course in fiction this is even more difficult to write and create.

thank you sooo much
