Lilianna waited a few minutes before she followed the two boys and her brother into the parking lot. She saw them get into a blue jeep and she frowned. Did they seriously think their car was going to get there faster? It looked like it had been to hell and back.

Lilianna drummed her fingers on the steering wheel as she waited for the jeep to pull out of the parking lot. As soon as she saw it leave, she followed it letting a car go before hers so they didn't think she was following them. Lilianna had a feeling that Scott and Stiles were going to just leave her brother at the hospital and call it a day and Lilianna wasn't exactly pleased with that. Lilianna and Liam's step-father worked at the hospital so he would most likely be taking care of Liam.

Once she got to the hospital, she got out of the car and quickly located Scott and Stiles. Lilianna hurried after the boys and slipped in through the doors when a man slipped out. Lilianna crossed her arms over her chest and stopped beside the two boys and her brother.

"Seriously? How and why did you follow us here?" Scott looked bewildered.

Stiles eyed her, supporting Liam with one arm, "You're like a ninja."

Lilianna chuckled, "No. Your jeep is just very noticeable. Plus, I don't know either of you and I wanted to make sure you didn't kidnap my brother."

"Why would we kidnap your brother?" Stiles asked while Scott signed in at the desk.

Lilianna shrugged, "Beats me."

Scott and Stiles suddenly waved at a woman who made her way over. Scott greeted her, "Hi mom."

Lilianna's eyes flit over to the woman who smiles at her. Lilianna looks at Scott in confusion and Scott finally introduces her, "Mom. This is Lilianna. Um and this is her brother, Liam."

"Nice to meet you Mrs. McCall. Um, we think his leg's broken." Lilianna told her.

She nodded and got a wheelchair before helping Liam into it, "Don't worry Liam, we'll take good care of you."

Liam looked at Lilianna before asking, "Can my sister come?"

Mrs. McCall looked at Lilianna for a minute before nodding, "Of course."

Liam shot a relieved smile at his sister and Lilianna smiled back before staring at the two boys who were looking at her in confusion. Lilianna sighed, "I'll be right back, Liam."

Lilianna turned to the two boys, "Thanks for taking him here. Sorry, I was such a bitch."

Scott smiled at her, "It's okay. You were just being a good sister."

Lilianna tilted her head, "You don't have siblings do you?"

"Nope." Scott answered.

"Neither do I." Stiles piped up.

Lilianna laughed, "Yeah, it's kind of obvious."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Stiles asked her, with a quizzical glare.

"Nothing." Lilianna shrugged, "Anyways, thanks again. I'd better go check on my brother."

Lilianna quickly turned and walked away from the two boys who stared at her as she left. Lilianna wasn't sure why she thanked them as they hadn't exactly made her life easier, and she didn't want to leave them with the wrong impression, but she had always been taught to be polite.

Lilianna quickly located the room that her brother had been led to and she noticed her dad was already in there with Liam. Lilianna greeted him before plopping down in a chair, slinging her backpack onto the floor.

"Is he going to be okay?" Lilianna asked.

Her dad looked at her without looking at Liam who asked, "It's broken. Isn't it?"

"It's definitely going to need an x-ray." He nodded.

"It's broken and it's my fault." Liam said sadly.

"Li. It was not your fault." Lilianna insisted.

"You want to tell me what happened?" Their dad asked.

"I went up against two juniors. One of them's captain of the team." Liam explained.

"Remember what we always say? Play smart. Not hard." Their dad said and then looked at Lilianna, "Lil. Were you watching?"

"Of course I was." Lilianna crossed her arms defensively.

"Are you mad at me?" Liam asked.

He shook his head, "No of course not. And I'm not blaming either of you. I promise. Your mom might be mad at me for getting you into lacrosse though. But we should wait for the x-ray before we panic. And trust me, I have more reason to panic than either of you."

Lilianna looked down at her fingers in silence before looking up at Liam who was making a face that showed he was in pain, "Li. I am sure you made it on the team. And I'm sure Scott and Stiles weren't trying to hurt you. I mean, have you seen them? Stiles for sure looks too skinny to give you anything worse than a papercut."

Liam cracked a smile at that, "Thanks Lil."

"What are sisters for?" Lilianna shrugged.

By this time, their step-father had left the room leaving the two siblings alone in the room. Liam glanced at her brother again before asking, "Do you want me to stay here with you? I have a bunch of homework to do and I can just sit here and do it."

"Yeah." Liam agreed.

Lilianna nodded, "My teachers were merciless with the amount of homework they assigned tonight. Honestly, they act like we have nothing better to do. Which I absolutely do not but they don't know that."

"Lil. If your only friend is Brett, I'm going to have to do something." Liam insisted.

Lilianna paused from rummaging in her backpack to find her planner and looked at her brother, "What is your deal with Brett? And what is your deal with me having friends. I don't see you having millions of friends."

Liam shrugged, " I mean yeah, I don't have many friends but like they're better than yours."

"Brett's sweet. You're just intimidated cause he's like over a foot taller than you." Lilianna glared at her brother.

"And the fact that he's out to murder me." Liam complained.

"I mean, he has a small reason to." Lilianna pulled her planner free from the bag, "But before you go crazy and yell at me, it wasn't completely your fault."

"Can we not talk about this?" Liam groaned, "I just mean that maybe there's a couple girls in your grade that you can be friends with."

"You mean so I don't spend all my time working and doing 'guy things' and instead painting my nails and gossiping. Please." Lilianna rolled her eyes, "When I decide to make some new friends, I'll let you know."

"Fine. Whatever. When your thirty and you regret not having any friends, I'll remind you of it." Liam crossed his arms.

"Liam!" Lilianna couldn't help but laugh. She knew Liam was right but since Lilianna had only interacted with two students from her new high school and that had been because they'd injured her brother, she wasn't sure if she could make new friends there.

Lilianna was working on her precalculus homework a little while later. Liam was still sitting in bed although now he had his phone in his hand. Lilianna and Liam looked up as they heard a scream and then something that sounded like a roar. Lilianna jumped out of her chair and grabbed her pepper spray which was sitting in the front pocket of her backpack. She knew that pepper spray wouldn't do much but she also had a couple classes of self defense under her belt so she could hold her own against an attacker.

"Li. I got this." Lilianna instructed her brother who had gotten up with her.

"Hey. Anyone hear that?" Liam ignored her as he leaned into the hallway.

"Hello?" Lilianna called out but only silence answered them.

Liam pushed past her and stepped into the hallway, "I definitely heard someone."

Lilianna wasn't looking at him when she answered with a scream as a boy covered in blood with teeth that looked animalistic marched towards her brother, "LIAM!"

Lilianna screamed as her brother was dragged away by the boy, "Let my brother go, you animal!" When she tried to grab her brother's arm, an arm slammed into her chest knocking her backwards. Lilianna wheezed as she knocked into the wall, almost blacking out with pain. She closed her eyes trying to block out the pain when she heard the stairwell door close.

Lilianna pushed herself up from the floor wincing as she rubbed her hand against her head, "What the fuck?" She ignored the pain in her head as she ran for the stairwell, grasping onto the handle with both hands. She yanked the door open before looking up the stairs wincing when she saw blood on the stairs which she hoped didn't belong to her brother.

"Liam?" She called up the stairs and an answering yell followed her question, "Liam!"

Lilianna raced up the first set of stairs but got pushed to the side by another figure who was much faster than she was. Her eyes widened as she caught a glimpse of the person's face which didn't look human. It looked like a wolf or some other animal. She almost fell over but caught herself on the railing before yelling, "Watch where you're going. Some people are trying to save their family members."

The person was long gone by the time she finished her sentence and she resumed her race up the stairs until she reached the top where she tried to open the door, "Am I weak all of a sudden?" The door wouldn't budge and Lilianna resolved that it was locked so she banged on the door.

"Liam!" Lilianna yelled as she banged on the door and jiggled the handle again but it didn't do her any good. Lilianna was out of her mind with worry. She had no idea what was happening. Some mutant teenager had just dragged her brother out to the roof and some other mutant person had gone after them. Lilianna wasn't getting anywhere and she knew that there was a stairwell on the other side of the building that also opened up to the roof so she ran down to the nearest floor and raced through the hallway, trying not to knock anyone over. Her head was still pounding from when she'd been hurled against the wall, but she pushed through that pain. She yanked open the door to the other stairwell and started up the stairs. When she reached the roof, she pulled on the door which to her relief swung open.

Only by the time she got outside, there was no one in sight. She stepped cautiously out, holding out her pepper spray. When she continued to not see anyone she moved faster until she reached the center and then her eyes widened and her mouth opened to let out a scream.

The boy who'd grabbed Liam was now lying in a pool of his own blood, an axe or hatchet buried in his back. Lilianna sidestepped his body, her eyes searching for any sign of her brother but he was nowhere to be found. Lilianna took in a deep breath, trying to ignore the obvious scent of blood. She then noticed blood near the other door which was previously locked, so she ran over there and wrenched open the door noticing it was now unlocked.

Lilianna made her way down the stairs and back to the room that Liam had been in only he wasn't there anymore like she had hoped. Lilianna collapsed back into the chair and buried her head in her hands. Lilianna's brother was already hurt and she didn't want to imagine what had happened to him now, but she knew she had to go find out.
