DESPITE THE CROWDS of people all around them, Piper felt cold standing in the airport with her boys and Aleisha.  Her hands nervously shook as she looked over through her teary eyes to see Aleisha crying hard as she spoke to Luke. He wasn't too happy either leaving his girlfriend, everyone knew that their relationship  wouldn't be able to take the distance. Even the couple knew it. Their goodbye was a lot harder than the others.

Piper's  ragged breaths was soothed by Ashton's warm palm rubbing her back. There were no words that would be able to stop her from the waterworks.

The announcement for his flight set Piper's nerves on fire as she turned to face Michael. She wanted to get as far as she could in the airport with him before she would be stopped. It didn't take long. She stood before him, constantly adjusting a piece of his hair or clothing. A part of his fringe was getting in his eye, his hoodie wasn't sitting right on his shoulders, the damn strings weren't even. Piper found herself attacking him with questions about how much he packed.

"Piper!" Michael spoke up with a light chuckle in his tone, his hands going to her shoulders to stop her, "I'm okay, I have everything."

Piper nodded slowly, tearing up as the other boys passed her, a hug and a soft spoken goodbye from each of them but Michael still stayed. He stayed. She felt the tears spilling over as she got closer to him. She quickly wrapped her arms around him tightly, squeezing her eyes shut to block any more tears from coming out but it failed. Michael has been rubbing soft circles in her back.

"Please don't forget me," she mumbled and Michael's chest shook with small laughter.

"I would never forget my best friend," Michael spoke softly as he pulled away slightly to look down at her. She looked up, using one thumb to wipe her tears away, "you'd kill me if I tried." Piper gave him a chuckle and pulled him in for another hug.

"I'm gonna miss you so much," Piper sighed as the soft circle slowed to a stop. If she wasn't so emotional, she would have noticed the pause in his movements and the way he waited to say something.

"I have to go," Michael mumbled as he looked at the plane with sadness in his eyes. He looked back to Piper gave her a half-smile, "I'll be right back."

"See you later," Piper couldn't stop the tears now that Michael was stepping away, "and if you don't get me a shirt signed by Harry Styles, you and I are gonna fight!" Michael laughed as he waved, walking away to the rest of the boys that watched from a distance.

"I love you guys!" Piper yelled, causing others in the airports to look at her funny, she didn't care. She wanted them to know before they left. Because even then, she knew inside herself that was the last time she was going to see Michael for a long, long time.

okay fellas!!!
I didn't change much from the original prologue, I actually like it despite the shortness, there isn't much before this point in the story that won't be hashed out later for dramatic effect so the prologue starts and ends here. Short and bittersweet, just how I like it.

so with that all put aside, welcome home!! (pun very much intended) and I'll see you at the next update !
