Preface: Where It All Started
Only two more minutes of hell.
By hell, I mean Calculus, taught my no one other than the most hated teacher, Miss. Rat.
I propped my book bag in front of me to completely block out the view of Miss. Rat, who was babbling about some mathematic formula, praying the time would go by faster to dismiss me from this class.
But nothing mattered right now. My favorite book, "My Soulmate has Fangs" was updating today, after the author went on a hiatus, and the story ended with the main character finding her soulmate after 16 years.
"And class, this is why finding the derivative is so important, right?" Miss. Rat says in front of the chalk board.
Absolutely no one reacts. In the corner of my eye I actually see my classmate, Lucy, slump into her desk and sleep. I snort back laughter.
Out of all the students not paying attention, Miss. Rat's beady eyes zero in on me. Before I can hide behind my book bag and stuff my phone away, Miss. Rat literally runs over to me and snatches my phone.
"Oh, you!" Caught you, haven't I? Miss. Rat said, leering over me.
Miss. Rat isn't her actual name. All the kids in my year just gave her that name, because one time, my classmates overheard her in a frenzy to find some rat food for her "fur-babies."
My heart was beating quickly. If she looked down at my phone, she'll see the book I was reading... and I can just say, it was NOT rated PG.
As if the she-devil heard my thoughts, she looked down at my phone and her eyes widened maliciously. She threw her head back and erupted in an evil cackle, her limp, oily hair strands swaying with each tremor.
"Oh-ho! So THIS is what we're indulging in? Who wishes I read this piece of work out loud?" Miss. Rat announces, grinning from ear to ear.
The class erupts in jubilant cheers. I'm seized with panic-- I whirl around in my chair, and my worse fear has come true. Not only is the whole class praying on my downfall, but my longtime crush, Alex Willis, is among the cheerers.
My eyes wide with panic, I try for a convincing grin as shake my head nervously.
"No, no, you all don't want to hear it, I was just reading how to solve for the derivative..." I tell the class, attempting to grab my phone from Miss. Rat.
Miss. Rat thwarts my hands away, smiling maliciously. I always knew she was evil, but this felt borderline illegal!
"Solving derivatives, you say? Let's see here..." Miss. Rat says. She looks down at the phone, and takes a deep breath to begin reading.
I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the impact of her actions. I imagined how the whole classroom would label me a weirdo, and how the school would learn about it within seconds. Such news went around like a wildfire.
And what would Alex Willis think of me after this? I had just worked up enough courage to actually talk to him the other day! I could imagine his perfect features contorting with disgust and confusion once he heard what Miss. Rat said.
I prayed to anyone listening under my breath for this moment to end, bracing myself for the laughter that would surely pierce me like a thousand needles, as the chattering from my classmates got louder and more excited--
No laughter came. In fact, no sound at all.
I peeked through my eyes, to find Miss. Rat standing in front of me. Her leer was frozen on her face, as she stared at me unmoving.
"Um..." I say, taken aback.
I glance around the room. As if everyone was in on the joke, the whole class was frozen as well, staring at me with frozen masks of jubilee. What the hell?
The only sound was the resounding clack of my cellphone as it slipped out of Miss. Rats grasp, onto the floor. I flinched, and peered at my phone on the floor. My heart rate increased as I leaned over my desk. Something was definitely wrong.
As if someone were tearing through the book, the pages on the screen flipped at an abnormal speed. The room, once silent, now seemed to hum-- a strange unnatural noise that stirred something in my subconscious.
"Alright, this isn't funny anymore!" I muttered, glaring at Miss Rat. She, along with the rest of the class remained motionless.
The humming intensified, as the lights of the classroom began to flicker. I stood up quickly, looking around the room. No one had moved an inch still.
Just as my instincts told me to run, the room began to shake-- literally shake as if there was an earthquake. I stumbled back into my chair, alarmed, and glanced at my phone, which was still reading the book on its own accord.
The shaking of the room became too intense-- the lights flickering endlessly and the humming now becoming a full-on siren in my ears. I could barely register the clatter of the chairs bouncing against the floor, coming closer and closer to my phone and then... falling into it?
I attempted to steady myself into the scene unfolding in front of me, questioning my sanity and if this classified under my insurance for life therapy. Surely enough, my classmates, still frozen, were shaking by the unexplainable force towards my phone, and simply... sinking in the same spot.
I attempted to stand up once more to run, only to be violently knocked down. I watched as my classmates, Lucy, Derek, Geovensia, and Lydia sink into the center of my phone.
Sure enough, they were followed by the other classmates whose names I didn't even know. The clattering forcing me to cling onto my chair for dear life, I watched as they comically sunk into the phone.
Miss. Rat, still frozen was also moved by the intense shaking, and was swallowed by the phone.
I didn't know much, but what I did know was I had to get out. In a last ditch effort to escape, I launched myself from my chair attempting to make it to the classroom door in a few strides. But the intense humming and shaking knocked me onto my butt. Before I knew it, the room was shaking me violently towards my cellphone.
I attempted to get up and take control of myself, but it was no use-- the room itself seemed to get smaller and smaller, until the only thing in my vision was myself and the phone. As I neared it, I saw the pages were flipping, but seemingly less rapidly.
I closed my eyes, and accepted my fate. As my shoulder first made contact with the overheating device, it seemed as if it was a vacuum-- pulling me into the screen, the small confinements of the phone forgiving the large angles of my body.
The room stopped shaking, as I got pulled completely, falling headfirst into my phone. My entire body felt like I was falling, and I opened my eyes to realize I was-- it seemed as if I was falling from the sky!
I automatically start screaming, feeling myself lose consciousness due to the rush. It was as if I was a shooting star, and I doubted I'd live on impact. Before I could completely lose consciousness, a lulling voice seemed to murmur into my ears.
You wished for this.

Hello everyone!
First-- thank you for giving this book a chance. I know this is an unconventional read to say the least, but I have always been an unconventional writer.. proof are my past books hehe.
I hope you stick around, as our hero finds a quite interesting journey! This book is more relaxed and intended for humor compared to some other works I have out.
Please let me know your thoughts, and have a good day/ afternoon! <333
