"All I will say is that you show up for your friends on their hardest days. And you hold their hand through the roughest parts. Life is about who is holding your hand and, I think, whose hand you commit to holding."
—Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six
"Music can dig, you know? It can take a shovel to your chest and just start digging until it hits something."
—Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six

Nobody knows Roslyn is about to announce the following day that they're breaking up.
Almost a year after secretly splintering, Roslyn gets roped into one last contractual obligation for an in-depth interview covering the band, their award-winning albums, and their future. Unfortunately for Porter, the writer assigned to interview them, he has no idea there is no future. And unfortunately for lead singer Nora, she hates being around Porter, even without having to deal with the icy reception from her estranged bandmates.
Nora has every intention of never seeing any of these people again. But despite what tabloids have to say about her, Nora doesn't always get what she wants. Or, maybe, today is the cathartic release she never knew she needed.

this is my first attempt at participating in the open novella contest, so, be gentle, please. prompt used is #44: music is the bridge that can join people together despite their differences. connect your diverse characters through their love of music.
this is very loosely inspired by 'daisy jones & the six' by taylor jenkins reid, in the sense that it's about a band getting interviewed. ever since i wrote adrenaline, i've been wanting to write about another band but didn't want to commit to another full-length novel. and the prompt just spoke to me. so, here we are.
