3:26 a.m.
I was woken up by the sound of my phone ringing. I hurried to get it, as I didn't want to wake Austin. Whoever the hell was calling me at almost 3:30 in the morning was going to get their ass kicked.
"Hello?" I said groggily.
"Zelina, I need your help," I heard a familiar voice say.
I knew who it was as soon as they said Zelina. It was the man I had met at the club, Andrade. I didn't know why he was calling me, and I was regretting giving him my phone number.
"With what? This isn't a part of the deal of you becoming my client."
I heard him sigh on the other end of the line and then I agreed to help him. He told me he was at the police station.
"I don't even know you and you expect me to come get you?" I angrily asked as I got out of bed. "Why don't you call one of your friends?"
"They're all here with me."
I tried not to yell or throw my phone. I needed this man to be my client, but I had told him to clean up his act.
This wasn't cleaning up his act to me.
"Zelina, please. I promise after this I really am going to clean up my act and focus on my career."
I sighed and then agreed to it. I put on some shorts and a t-shirt. I grabbed my flip flops, and my car keys. I was about to walk out the door, I heard Austin come down the stairs.
"Zelina, where are you going?"
I looked up at him, and he didn't look impressed. But really, what guy would want their fiancé going out at 3 am?
"Peyton's at the police station and needs me to pick her up. Her and Billie got into some late night trouble," I lied right through my teeth.
He nodded and then gave me a kiss goodbye. I felt guilty, but this was business. If I was going to be Andrade's business manager and partner, I needed to help him.
I arrived at the police station and walked in. The bright lights shined my eyes, making me realize how dark it actually was outside.
"Hi, I'm here for Andrade Almas," I told the man at the front desk.
"Name."
"Zelina Vega, I'm his business partner."
The man nodded and I twirled my hair around my finger with a "hurry up" look on my face.
I saw Andrade out of the corner of my eye, and he looked wasted as hell. He didn't look that way when I left the club, so he must've had more drinks when I left. I was surprised they hadn't confiscated his phone when he walked through the doors.
"Can you hurry up, sir?" I tapped my foot on the ground.
I wanted to go back home and sleep.
He raised his brow and then sighed a heavy sigh. He went back to where Andrade was sitting and they had a deep conversation. I was getting impatient, but for some reason I felt nervous.
I wanted Andrade to be okay.
"Thank you, Zelina. I promise I'm going to clean myself up," he said as he walked towards me.
"Good, because that is our deal. This isn't. You can't just call me whenever you want and assume that I'll answer. You know what they say about people that assume," I smirked.
He rolled his eyes. "I'm just trying to live my life and here you are roasting me for doing just that."
I walked out to my car and then drove him home. He had a huge house, bigger than I expected. It had huge windows, a pool that was glowing in the night light, and was a light color grey.
"I'll see you tomorrow at 9 am at the local coffee shop," I told him as he opened the door. "Don't be late."
He smiled and all of a sudden, my stomach did a flip. I wasn't sure why, maybe it was the dinner I ate.
Or I was hungry.
"Goodnight, Zelina. And thank you again."
I waved goodbye to him as I watched him walk in his house. Once he was in, I drove away back to my house and went straight back to bed.
