three. hawkeye and little hawkeye?
ESCAPE PLANS ARE A THING THAT ADONIS HAD PERFECTION OVER THE YEARS. BUT THOSE WERE ESCAPE PLANS FOR ONE PERSON NOT THREE. AND NOT ON THE AVENGERS LEVEL.
So as understandable, Adonis was freaking out, how was he supposed to take out these enemies and protect Hawkeye and his sidekick. Yes, they were capable of defending themselves but still three against the amount of probably ten with their guns, well that could be hard. Adonis looked around, he counted heads, twelve to be exact, but he had lost visual of Ivan, he tried peeking his head a bit more to have a better view, but he didn't, he didn't want to be seen and blow his cover, he waited for them to leave, maybe he could make some type of sign to the Avenger that there was someone there ready to help them.
The dark night slowly brighten up, it must've been past midnight when he escaped, he didn't even know the time right now, Adonis only knew that if he was gonna do something, he had to be quick about it and that he desperately needed the tracksuit guys gone off this room. Just that these guys weren't planning of going anywhere, they were kids goofing around and watching the two heroes struggle, they joked about them being "useless" and there some snacks at them.
"Assholes." Adonis whispered, letting a sigh out as he leaned back, he should've left the moment he could, but no, he wants to be a hero and find a way to rescue an Avenger and his pretty sidekick. When the ride was done, he could see how Ivan and his friend Dimitri step aside, not too far away but just enough to not have their eyes on them.
A small crashing sound caught everyone's attention, one of the guys talking on the phone pissed, throwing Russian curse words and kicking stuff, the young girl turned to look at him, and a conversation started between them, and within minutes, something the girl had said had the mafia guy going away telling her to wait a minute.
"You know what I think?" Ivan said standing up, his voice already annoyed by something "I think you talk too much." His words were directed toward the young one, Adonis could say something sarcastically like, what do you expect her to do? It's been hours man. "Maybe I rip out your throat, hmm? Or maybe she will."
A loud door closing was heard a bit too close from Adonis, his head shot up seeing a woman walking out and down the stairs, he couldn't recognize her, but she executed a lot of confidence with her steps. Clearly, she was the one in charge of this place. The woman headed toward Hawkeye primarily, she took out a small knife and freed him from the tape, her hands motioned over her face, but no words came out. Deaf. Adonis could take that as an advantage but not too much, there were people around.
"Hard of hearing, not deaf." Hawkeye answered back with his words and movement of hands, a conversation between them was shared but Adonis couldn't really see what the woman was saying, and besides, he didn't know ASL.
The woman turned around and in her place, the scruffy man that Adonis first saw and was treated like a piece of meat took over, standing behind Hawkeye he tied his hands together.
"She asked what you're doing here, Clint Barton." He spoke the words the woman tried to communicate first. He was the one to help the communication flow, he was her interpreter. A few words were exchanged but nothing important to Adonis' ears at least.
"Now the suit, she put it on by accident, she doesn't know what it means. She's not Ronin, look at her, she's nine, and spoiled rotten." Adonis could see that clearly, she wasn't Ronin, she did look around her twenties but that would've meant she had to be fifteen when the Ronin occurred, and doing so many massacres at such a young age, well, it didn't make sense.
The woman moved her hands quick but steady, easy for her interpreter to make his own words quick and process the message for Hawkeye, who never looked at the guy, his eyes always on the woman, no one else.
"Because he's dead." Just like that Adonis heard it, Ronin, a mercenary and his idol, was dead, he didn't believe a word, how did he know that?
"So, who got him, then?" The interpreter asked, Hawkeye's face was lost now as if he were remembering the moment.
"Natasha Romanoff." Adonis knew about her, Black Widow, an ex-Russian assassin turned good, turned into a hero.
"So Ronin is dead, and the person who killed him is dead. That's convenient. How do you know this?" That was the important question even Adonis wanted to know, standing up straight, he peeked his head a little bit higher, waiting for the answer.
"Cause I was there." Hawkeye didn't hesitate, didn't think about his words, he just said it with sadness and confidence. The woman and the man didn't believe a word he was saying, too much of a coincidence they believed.
It was now the guys' turn to interrogate, but instead of doing it to Barton, his focus shifted to the girl, the question that Adonis imagined would occur, why did she wear it in the first place. The girl was just beginning to explain when the woman had her hands around her neck. Maya. That is her name.
"I put that suit on because I didn't want anybody to know I was at the auction, okay?" Terror in her words, she looked at Maya, her face shifted with panic trying to get oxygen into her system. "I didn't know what it was when I put it on, I swear." Her voice became higher and faint, Maya had her hands gripped tight around her throat and it was her interpreter who pulled her away.
The two of them seemed to argue about the moment while in the back, Hawkeye and the girl were having a conversation of their own. Adonis couldn't read their lips from where he stood, he just looked at them, studied them, and when he least expected, Hawkeye freed himself, out of the machine and ran away. Maya and the guys follow behind the hero, leaving just the guy alone with little Hawkeye.
This was the perfect moment, it was just one person who he could fight easily and rescue the girl so she could even help him find a way out and rescue Clint Barton.
"Easy, just fight." Adonis said to himself and took out the gun, checking how many rounds were left, the count was filled, not a single bullet had been used, he wasn't planning on using it straight away, he could use it to knock him out, checking his surroundings and saw that Hawkeye and Maya were getting closer, this had to be quick. There was a moment when no one was paying attention, quickly he moved out of his hiding spot and hid behind a pillar.
Two more guys heading to Hawkeye's place, he hadn't even noticed the moment he was inside the room fighting Maya, this was it, picking up two bricks he found beside him on the floor, he took a deep breath and walked out of his hiding spot.
"Hey, pricks." Both of them turned to look at Adonis, and instantly the brick flew towards them, only one was quick enough to dodge it, it was quick, but the masked one noticed an arrow flying directly towards the girl setting her free from the tape around her wrists.
Another guy came running, heading to the ball pit where Hawkeye was hiding, and another guy ran towards Adonis, a bat in his hand swinging ready to hit him, missing every single shot as Adonis dodged, and stopped with his hands and even changed the gun to the taser. A loud thud was heard behind him, a guy falling face first with an arrow on his back.
"Thanks." Adonis said waving at Hawkeye.
"Don't mention it." The hero responded, ready to take on another mafia enemy.
The young girl had her hands busy with the scruffy guy, hitting, stopping, and even grabbing a shopping cart to fight. Adonis was busy too with his own enemies, tasing, taking a punch to his ribs, exactly where he had been tased himself. Taking them down with the help of Hawkeye, Adonis felt an extreme rush powering his body, turning his heel he saw the Avenger having a bit of trouble, he just saved him, and now it was his turn to return the favor.
Sliding through the floor, Adonis kicked a Russian's legs, the gun from his hand flew away from his grip to the other side of the room, Hawkeye was busy with someone choking his throat, his eyes searched everywhere for something, only to notice his bow being close to his feet, grabbing it quickly, she swung it, hitting him straight on his face, knocking him back.
"Thanks, kid" Now it was Clint who said it, and if it weren't for the urgency, Adonis could've freaked out like a fan right there.
"Don't mention it, here you go." Adonis handed the bow to Clint, looking back seeing the girl in danger now, and for Clint, he knew exactly what to do, mimicking the same movement Adonis had done.
"I was doing fine." She said heavily breathing, her eyes turned to look at Adonis, a hint of confusion looking at him. "You are a good guy or are you with them?"
"Good guy, definitely." He smiled at her and then looked at Hawkeye. "Can I tag along just to leave this place?" His voice just a bit louder, enough to be heard.
"What are you doing here kid?" Clint asked picking up his hearing aid from the floor. "My hearing aid's smashed.
"Vengeance, and then locked away, that's all." Keeping it short, he tried to keep up with them, no one said otherwise too, so maybe they were okay with it.
Out of the building, their mission now was to escape, get a car and leave as soon as possible, passing by a beautiful red one, it was clear that the girl wanted it.
"I'm not smashing a '72 Challenger. Come on." Clint added smashing the window of an older car, opening it for them. "What's your name, kid?" The question was now headed to Adonis, who took the back seat and waited just like a child.
"Adonis, sir. I can't believe it is actually you." Adonis said happily, he finally felt like his heart rate was slowing down. "Do you need help there?" He asked, noticing how Clint was pulling out the cord under the steering wheel to start the engine.
"I can handle it." He said and glanced over to see Kate. "Let's go." The young girl opened the door and looked over at Clint. "Get over here, I need you to drive."
"What? I don't know how to drive." She answered back confused about this situation now.
"I know how to drive." Adonis lifted his hand up. "Adonis, hi." He glanced at the dark-haired girl and smiled again.
"Kate Bishop." She answered back, smiling as well before looking back at Clint. "No, you, you drive, I shoot" Kate moved her hands expressing every word. Adonis had forgotten that small detail, he couldn't hear clearly, right? So he sort of gave up on the idea to drive.
"Bad guys, twelve o'clock." Adonis pointed at the doors, the guys they had just kicked their ass were walking toward them with weapons. A gunshot hit the glass of Kate's window, and she quickly got inside. The car hadn't turned on yet and the frustration was showing clearly as Clint banged the vehicle headboard a few times and the beautiful Christmas music started.
"Come on, let's go." Adonis said seeing the car drive off and the rest of the guys getting into their respective vehicles,r ready to follow them all.
Not even in a million dreams, Adonis would've imagined this scenario happening. Being followed by Russian "villains" and seating in a vehicle with the Avenger Hawkeye, and little Hawkeye? But, who was he to argue?
