"Ramya."

"Aadhi? Enna da phone panniruka?" (Aadhi? Why did you call?)

"Enna kelvi di ithu? Pondati ah New Year anniki paaka mudiyala, atleast phone pannalaam na ippadi kekura." (What kind of question is this? I couldn't be with my wife on New Year's so I called and you're questioning me.)

"Yaaru pondati? Athuku innu rendu maasam irukku." (What wife? There's still two months for that.)

"Innum avlo naal iruka? Paravala innum konja naal nimmadhiya irukalaam." (There's still that many days? Looks like I can be peaceful for few more days then.)

"Konnuruven rascal! 😠" (I will kill you rascal)

"New Year anikae violence ah? Ithu mattum therinjuruntha club la un kitta pesavae vanthuruka maataen." (Violence on New Year's? If I knew this, I wouldn't have come to talk to you at the club.)

"Naa lam club kae poiruka maataen. Poda." (I wouldn't have even come to the club. Go.)

"Athulam poga mudiyaathu. 😝" (I won't go.)

"Antha bayam. 😆 Aama namma than India time ku video call panni celebrate pannitom eh. Apo ethuku thiruppi call panna?" (You should be afraid.  We already celebrated through video call in India time. So why did you call again?)

"Naa illama eppadi ma unnaala New Year celebrate panna mudiyum?" (How can you celebrate New Year's without me?)

"Ahaan. Maybe athu unmaiya irukalaam.😋" (Really. Maybe that could be true.)

"Maybe ah? Phone vali ya vae un mooka kuthiruven." (Maybe? I will punch your nose through the phone.)

In the background Aadhi's mom scolds him.

"Paavam da ava. En marumagal ah appidi lam solla koodaathu." (Poor thing she is. Don't talk to my daughter-in-law like that.)

"Aama unga marumagal ku ethaachu na vaanga. Unga paiyen ah konnuruven nu sollum pothu enga poninga? 😒" (If something happens to your DIL come. Where were you when she was threatening to kill your son?)

"Nee chumma iru. Happy New Year! Eppadi ma irukura?" Aadhi's mom grabs the phone from him. (You be quiet. Happy New Year! How are you?)

"Naa nalla irukuren athai. New Year eppadi poguthu?" (I'm good MIL. How is the New Year going?)

"Athu nalla iruku ma. Kaalaila koyil ku ponom. Enna ivan than un kitta pesanum nu engala seekrama koyil la irunthu kelapi vitan." (It's going well. We went to the church in the morning. Although he ended up bringing us back early so that he can call you.)

"Sorry athai. 🤭"

"Vekkathai paaru. Iru maama pesuraara." Aadhi's mom gives the phone to his dad. (Look at the blush. Wait your FIL wants to talk.)

"Happy New Year marumagalai!"

"Happy New Year maama. Neenga eppadi irukinga?" (Happy Nee Year FIL. How are you?)

"Naa nalla irukuren ma. Enna unga athai sweets saapuda vida maataingura, athan feeling ah irukku. 😣" (I am good. Only thing your MIL won't let me have sweets, so feeling down.)

Before Ramya can reply Aadhi's mom replies.

"Doctor evlo thadava sweet saapuda koodathu nu sollirukaaru. Unga nalathu kaaga than kudukala. Atha poi complain pannuringa?😠" (How many times have the doctors told you not to eat sweets. For your own good I'm not giving you any. You are complaining about that?)

"Naa poi complain pannuven ah? Chumma sonna. Nee irukum bothu ennaku veru enna sweets theiva?"  (Will u complain? I was just saying. When I have you, why would I need sweets?)

Aadhi's appa try to cajole his wife while Ramya laughs.

"Aiyo Amma Appa, poi veru engaiyachu thanniya romance pannunga. Naa en pondati kuda romance pannanum." Aadhi tells them frustradely while taking back his phone. (Mom and Dad, go romance somewhere else. I need to romance with my wife.)

"Seri seri 😂, Ramya naa unga appa kitta aproma call pannuren." (Ok ok. Ramya I will call your dad later.)

Aadhi's dad tell her before leaving with his wife.

"Quick ah un parents ah koopudu, wish pannitu namma thaniya romance pannitu New Year start pannalam." (Go and call your parents quickly. I will wish them then we can start the New Year with our romance.)

"Vekkam illa? 🤭" (Don't you have shame?)

"Time illa. Seekram!"(Don't have time. Quick!)

At his urging, Ramya quickly goes to her parents so that Aadhi can wish both of them, then slips into her room.

"Pondati, time enna anga?" (Wife, what's the time there?)

"11:59 pm. 15 seconds than irukku." (11:59pm. Only 15 seconds left.)

"Future Mrs.Aadhi?"

"Future Mr.Ramya?"

"Countdown pannalaama?" (Shall we countdown?)

Together, they count down.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

They both wish each other at the same time like last year.

"Last year la meet panna per solluva nu sonna... Ring eh maatiten paathiya. 😎" (Last year you said if we meet you will tell me your name... See i even put a ring on it.)

"Hello. Parents arrange panna marriage ithu. Etho sir kashta pattu panna maathiri sollura." (Hello. Our parents arranged this marriage. Don't act like you worked hard.)

"Etho onnu. Mission success. Athan mukiyam. 😁" (Whatever. Mission success. That's what's important.)

"Next year ku enna goal sir ku?" (What is the goal for next year sir?)

"Neeyae paaru. 😎" (Wait and see.)
