KC's POV:
The next morning, everyone was quiet. We all knew what was coming. It was shocking to me because, the night before was heartwarming. While Aaron and his 'gang' were locked in a car, Laurance and Travis had started the fire and we all just had a good time. So, waking up to this, was definitely an eye opener of how a mood can change with a snap of a finger. While Laurance, Travis, Aphmau, and I packed our things, Katelyn with the other three boys were talking.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Laurance asked, looking over to me.
"I have no idea," I answer. "It looks serious though."
"Do you think something's wrong?" Aphmau whispered.
"No. Everything seemed fine last night," Travis said. "In fact, it was the happiest I've seen Katelyn in a long time."
They seemed to had finished their conversation. With at least Garroth and Zane because, those two broke off from the conversation and came over to help us, leaving Katelyn and Vylad to continue to discuss.
"What were you four talking about over there?" I asked Zane as he came over to help me with the tent. He looked over to me and I can tell under his mask that he smiled a bit. "Nothing really. Katelyn and Vylad told us what the plan was," He responded, shrugging.
Confused I asked; "What's the plan?"
"I can't tell. Vylad is saying that after this we should part ways with you all but, he seems really uneasy about it," He says, folding a blanket and putting it in a backpack.
When I heard that the boys were considering about leaving, I felt a little disappointed. These three has made our lives interesting for once. Now, the idea of them leaving is upsetting
"Okay everyone," Katelyn says when everything was packed and ready to go. "Here's the plan. Garroth and Travis. I'm putting you in charge of making sure those three," She says, pointing to Aaron, Zenix, and Ivy who were in the backseat of a red Toyota. "Everyone else is on look out duty. Make sure that nothing passes us."
We all nodded and did our jobs. It was no surprise that Aaron and his 'gang' weren't too satisfied with going with us. They walked slowly which made everyone irritated a bit but, it let us take our time and look at our surroundings. I couldn't help but noticed that Katelyn and Vylad were still discussing things. Yet, I had the suspicion that it wasn't about business or the mission. I think they were having a genuine conversation. I smirked and asked Zane; "What do you think?"
"The weather is...okay?" He asked, a little unsure. I giggled and rolled my eyes. "No silly," I say. "Katelyn and Vylad? Garroth and Aphmau?"
He shrugged and said; "It's okay I guess."
"What do you mean by that? Aren't you happy for them?" I asked, kind of getting a little...defensive if that's the word. He said under his mask; "I mean yes but, I don't want them to get distracted from our mission we've worked hard for to accomplish."
"Why should they get distracted?" I felt my insides boil a bit. My grip on my gun got tighter the more he got more passionate about his opinion. Trust me. I can accept others opinions but, if it means ruining my friends happiness then, shut up.
"They are becoming too consumed by Aphmau and Katelyn. I fear that they'll become to obsessed by them."
Oh! That's when my nerves ticked! How dare he say it's Aphmau and Katelyn's fault! Garroth and Vylad are lucky they even get to look at them!
"Nana?" He asked, looking concern. "Are you okay?"
My face must've been red or something. It was weird. I barely ever get angry with people. I was shocked I was getting mad at Zane out of everyone. Zane must've realized and cursed under his breath.
"Nana, I'm so sorry," He says, turning towards me and coming to a halt. I wanted to press on but, he pulled me back. "I didn't mean it to sound like that."
"Oh, you know you did," I say, still extremely defensive. I didn't know what was coming over me. It was like I had forgotten last night...the laughter, the memories, with everyone.
"Nana, I didn't. You know I care about you and everyone else here."
"Well, it didn't sound like it. In fact, it sounded like you just wanted to leave!"
Everyone at this point was turned towards us. It was completely embarrassing.
"No! Why would I?" He exclaimed.
"Because you really don't care! I should've have listened to Katelyn and just have not talked to you back on that island!"
"Nana, please!"
"Guys, how about we take a deep breath-" Travis said softly.
"Shut up Travis!" I yelled.
He instantly scrambled back. Everyone was a bit lost for words at my aggression. I was as well.
"Nana, I didn't mean it. I promise."
"Oh really? Well, I don't believe you! In fact, how about after this you and your brothers do leave! That way I don't have to deal with your bipolar mood swings and irritating attitude towards everything!"
I stomped off past everyone. I just wanted to get to Denver, find those stupid papers and have Zane leave.

Zane's POV:
I was lost for words. What just happened?
"Zane?" Katelyn asked, softly. I didn't know if she was angry with me or just concern for both of us.
"Katelyn I'm so sorry! I don't know what happened!"
She didn't say anything and looked at Vylad. He looked a bit lost in this situation.
"...I'll go talk to her. For now, I think you and Nana need to keep a distance from each other. Vylad, you should switch positions with her."
He slowly nodded and came next to me. Katelyn was able to bring Nana back to the group then, we were off again.
She didn't look at me. My heart just shattered when I realized that I messed up. I messed up big time...
