"It was full-on Carrie," Kev describes the situation. A man had fired multiple shots into Moose's car. Moose being a protecting boyfriend blocked her and took all the shots. We all had heard the story a hundred times. I could recite it at this point."Midge covered in Moose's blood, screaming like a banshee.It was insane."

"Kev, what were you even doing there? You could've been shot, too," Archie says.

"I was just night-jogging, you know, as one does, and suddenly, I hear gunshots," Kev says.

"Can we agree there's a killer on the loose?" Arch says. 

"- With terrible aim," Jughead mocks. I hit his arm as Archie groans.

"-Jughead, he murdered Ms. Grundy," Archie says.

"We don't know these three crimes are related," Betty says.

"But if we look at both of the crimes individually it's still fucked up," I say, "and I town like this. Crimes don't happen multiple times in a matter of days, or even weeks. Not crimes like that."

"Guys, can we focus on what matters here? Midge and Moose are alive. Archie's dad survived," Veronica says, "The Matchlerette starts tonight. You're coming over to watch. All of you."

"No," I say flatly.

"There's a shooter terrorizing the town," Jug says.

"You really want us to watch a gross dating show?" I finish.

"What I want is for you guys to meet my dad officially," She says, "Back in New York, my dad was always in his study, doing bad things, as it turns out. I'm tired of closed doors. I need to know my dad's life and he needs to know mine."

"Well, we'll be there, V," Betty says, "Can't wait."

"Thank you," Veronica says.

"Hey, Andrews, we're going to the hospital to see Moose,"  Reggie says walking in with a couple of his bulldogs. "You coming?"

"Yeah, for sure," He says, "I'll see you tonight, Ronnie." Archie leaves with his team and Jughead jumps up.

"I better go," He says, "Was supposed to meet my peer mentor - at Southside High half an hour ago."

"Wait Jug are you sure you can't stay here?" I ask him.

"I will be fine," He says.

"I just-" I say, "nevermind."

"Everything will be fine," He says, "we will be fine." He leans down and plants his lips on mine. As he pulls away I sigh.

"Bye," I say. He looks at me.

"I love you," He says.

"I love you too," I say. He smiles and walks out.

"We better get going too," Kev says. 

"Yeah," I nod we all jump up and Betty speaks.

"Okay now that its just us," She says, "Night-jogging?"

"Yeah. I'm trying to get in shape for wrestling," He says we both shoot him a 'really? You think we believe that?' "Okay, fine, I was cruising Fox Forest. I'm going out for wrestling. I had to tell my dad I was jogging."

"He believed you?" She says.

"Yeah. He wants to believe me," He says.

"Hey, look, I get it, you're post-Joaquin, but cruising?" Betty says, "Come on, Kev, you know I hate that."

"Why don't you use Grind em?" I ask.

"Nobody's who they say they are online. At least in real life, what you see is what you get, there's no surprises," Kev says.

"Makes sense," I say.

"Moose and Midge were shot literally 300 yards from Fox Forest, and the person who did it is still out there. Tell me you won't go back until he's caught," Betty says.

"Okay, fine. I will not go back. Scout's honor," He says. She nods.

"Why don't you sit down next to me, loverboy?" Veronica says. I look up from my phone to see Arche sitting in an isolated chair.

"Arch?" I as.

"I'm sorry, This thing with Moose It's like nobody cares. Dad keeps saying, 'Leave it to Sheriff Keller.'  I'm like, 'Yeah, he did a great job of catching Jason's murderer.' Oh. Wait, I'm sorry, that was us."

"Inside voices, please?" Veronica says. 

"No, don't stop him. Archie going Travis Bickle is my favorite Archie yet," Jug says smirking as he takes the popcorn.

"The spiraling into insanity is quite entertaining," I reply.

"Doesn't it feel like he's targeting us? I mean, specifically?" Archie asks "I don't want anyone else getting hurt."

"When we had a getaway on the Cape, all of us got together and hired private security to keep out the riffraff - as an added layer of protection," Veronica says.

"I loved that house," A soft voice says. I turn around to see Hiram.

"Daddy," Veronica says signaling us all to stand up out of respect.

"We're on our way to dinner at the club," Heromine says.

"I wanted to meet your friends first," Hiram says.

"Great. Thank you," Veronica says, she turns to Betty, "This is Betty Cooper."

"Hi," Betty says, "Nice to meet you."

"This is Y/n L/n,"  She says. 

"Hey," I say shaking his hand.

"And Jughead Jones," Veronica says.

 "Hi," Jughead says stepping forward.

"Hey," Hiram says shaking Jug's hand.

 "You know my dad," Jug says.

  "I do. He's a good man. He values family. I hope his return comes sooner rather than later," Hiram says.

"- Yeah, so do we," Jug says. As he steps towards me I wrap my hand around his.

"And, Daddy, this is-" Veronica starts.

"Archie Andrews," He says, "The boy who's captured my daughter's heart."

"Daddy," Veronica interjects.

"Uh, it's nice to meet you, sir," Archie says holding out his hand.

"Ah, please," He says shaking Archie's hand, "Call me Hiram." 

"Weird," I whisper in Jugs ear.

"I couldn't help but overhear your discussion and I, um I understand your frustration with Sheriff Keller," He says, "As for someone who's had his own share of run-ins with the law I can say that the police aren't always the solution. Sometimes we need to take matters into our own hands. We need to protect ourselves."

"We're gonna lose our table," Heromine says.

"Oh, yes, of course. Hey, it was nice to meet all of you," He says, "Oh, and Archie."

"Yes," Archie says.

"Why don't you come over for dinner this weak? I look forward to seeing what you come up with to save Riverdale," Hiram says. They quickly leave and I sink back into Veronica's couch.

"This show is gonna suck," I say.

        "Ughh," Kev says as he sits down,

       "What?" I ask.

     "Betty won't get off of my back about the whole forest thing," He says.

     "Can you blame her? She is just worried about you," I say.

   "Not you too," He says.

  "I understand why you're doing this Kev so I'll leave my thoughts on the subject with this," I say, "I like having you as I friend and I really care about you and I don't want to see you get hurt. But I understand that you feel like you need to do this;. And I'm not going to stop you. I just want you to be careful."

"I get it," He says.

 "If you die I will murder you," I say to him causing him to laugh.

"Got it," He says.

As Betty and I walk into her house we see Alice and Hal standing at the Kitchen counter. "Hey," Betty says.

"Hello Cooper family," I say.

"-Hey," Hal says as he sighs.

"What's wrong?" Betty says.

"You guys look like your dog just died," I say.

"Your mother got some fan mail," Hal says to Betty. Hal hands the letter to Alice who hands it to Betty. I read the letter of her shoulder and sigh.

"He calls himself the Black Hood and he wants us to publish this letter. He wants everyone to know that he shot Fred Andrews and Moose and Midge and murdered Geraldine Grundy," Alice says.

"Are you sure that this is real?" Betty asks.

"Oh, it's real, all right," Alice says as she dumps the envelope to reveal Fred's wallet and Grundy's red heart sunglasses.

"Holy shit," I say to them.

"It's going to be fine," Hal says.

"We are going to go the station to talk to Keller," Alice says, "you two do not leave this house."

"Really don't want to at this point jeez," I say.

"Seriously," Betty says.

"Good," Alice says.
