Chapter One
In the Carnivorous Cave, Silver walked to the other end, giving his best friend some space. They just achieved another clue to save her parents, yet it seemed luck wasn't on their side. Before the two of them fought the two men that were now unconscious, Scarlet gave him her sweatshirt because she was too hot. It was unusual for her, but he took it anyway. Having something of hers made his day, so much that he pulled it over his own t-shirt. If only she knew how much he missed her when they were apart. He loved the way her touch felt against his skin, even though they were only dating a few days, he just couldn't get enough. She was his and there was nothing anyone would do about it.
Just about to return to Scarlet and give her hand a squeeze, a tall grey-haired man appeared smoothly in front of him. Silver gasped and jumped back, unsure how to respond to this person who magically appeared. A glance from side to side told Silver that Scarlet hadn't noticed yet. Hopefully she would soon. They could be in trouble. Eyes moving forward, he stared at the man in front of him. "Who are you?"
"Ash, of course." The man grabbed Silver's shirt tightly, pulling him off the ground. "You're coming with me. I see what you've done with my people."
Struggling, Silver tried to break free, but the grasp was too strong. Ice blocks flew toward the man, yet all he did was shrug them off. Nothing worked. He was stuck with no idea where he was being taken. While swinging back and forth in the grasp of this large hand, the worst sound Silver ever heard drowned everything else around him.
Scarlet.
Her screams tore through his heart. Each moment they got louder, the more he pulled and twisted, trying the best he could to get close to her. There was nothing he could do. With everything he tried, it seemed the man only got stronger.
Bursts of fire flew toward him, shocking the man when they touched his back. He bounced back, but managed to keep his balance. Silver's hope of being dropped was lost.
As Scarlet continued to scream, more fire came closer. All Silver wanted was to jump down and run into her arms, but nothing was possible anymore. "I'm sorry! I don't know what to do!" Trying to give her a smile, it turned flat. He hoped she could hear him, especially since he screamed so loud, the soreness of his throat rose to a dull pain.
"We're leaving now." The deep voice of the man surprised Silver, but before he could say anything back, the man snapped his fingers and they were gone. The last thing he saw of his love were her beautiful, fiery eyes and the tears running down her face. But he still kept his gaze on her. She was strong and he'd be back to brush his lips against hers so passionately that neither of them would want to break away. He'd fight this. The image of her tears running down her amazing face wouldn't be the last time he would see her. It wasn't over yet.
