Chapter 21: Explanations; one chance

LUCY'S POV

I slowly pivoted my head so that i faced the surprised team from Sabertooth. Out of all guilds, WHY. I don't have a problem with Rogue or the others, it's the blonde that i'm afraid of.

He scared the living hell out of me when he had an outburst, i thought he was going to hit me. Sting stayed at the back, probably because all my team members, *cough* Erza *cough*, was practically giving him the death stare.

"So....what are you guys doing here? We have a job." said Gray.

"Yeah, and so do we. It's the same i guess." said Yukino. The woman who came out with the butler laughed.

"I sent two requests, one to Fairy Tail and the other to Sabertooth. I wanted my brother to feel better from his romantic depression." she said.

"Brother?! You're his brother? I thought that you were his mum!" exclaimed Natsu.

"Why would you-----ohhh, wait hold on a sec..." she mumbled, as she carefully began peeling a mask off her face to reveal a young and pretty lady. We stared in what seems to be shock.

"Umm, why did you have a mask?" asked Rogue.

"I was doing a play for my young four year old sister." she laughed.

"I see. So, umm, who's taking the job?" asked Erza, as her voice clearly said us.

"You both can do it! The prize won't be split, each guild would receive the amount on the request!" she explained, before motioning to her butler. She grabbed my hand and Sting's hand, because we were close, and dragged us inside.

This left the others with no choice but to follow.

"Are you two dating or siblings?" she asked us on the way, referring to blonde and i. I tensed before vigourously shaking my head. Sting was speechless.

"Neither." i replied. She nodded. A big door came in sight before she let us go and pushed the door open with both hands. Inside was marvelous.

I would explain everything, from the living room to the kitchen but you would be bored. All i would say is, it was clean and gigantic! A big stair case that divided into two rows as it connected to hallways. Pretty.

"This is our home. It is a section of the mansion. The throne room, where i rule, well to go there you have to go outside and re-enter through the main door." she explained, " Right now, my brother is probably in their staring out the window. He likes that."

"So we have to go outside?" groaned Happy.

"Well we have an entrance inside." she said, before leading us through. Upon entering the throne room, i was astound. It looked exactly like one! An actual one!

"There he is." pointed out Lector. Sitting on a chair, as it faced a gigantic glass window, was a young boy, about my age. I must say he was good looking, but for no conflicts, because he was not to my taste.

He had spiky dark brown hair that had a bit of waves and ended near his shoulder. His hazel (A/N: TURN UP, HAZEL GRACE) eyes shined. He was nice. But again, not to my taste.

"Sister, who are these people?" he asked. Wow, i love his voice! It's not too deep but amazing! Wait, why am i fawning over a GUY. He's a male species! Anyways, forget it, Lucy, you're just describing him.

(A/N: Just saying, Lucy will have no feelings whatsoever to this guy, she's just describing.)

"Onii-san, they're here to help you. I called them here." explained his older sister. The boy sighed and turned to face us, a not very pleased look on his face. Okay? It doesn't look like we're wanted.

"Help me with what?" he snapped.

"Your issue. Admit it, Ash, it's clear that you need help. I'm not taking a no for an answer, i'm older than you." said the elder sister. The boy huffed before standing up and walking over to us.

"Fine. I'm Ash Nixis, and i'm hoping to get this over with." he said boredly, cleary uninterested. Everyone introduced themselves.

"Hi, i'm Lucy Heartfillia! Nice meeting you." i greeted, a smile on my face. Ash's troubled expression seemed to cool down a bit.

"Well let's get to it."said Erza.

We talked with Ash, and he said that he was only upset because his ex-girlfriend cheated on his best mate. He isn't sad about the break-up, he's full of anger and revenge! He doesn't need couple councelling, he needs anger management!

Everyone realised this and i was starting to be afraid of this boy.

"Look, if you want to help me, just get the damn girl and teach her a lesson for me, will ya?" he asked, a devious smirk on his face. Uh oh.

"Okay, if this would make you feel better." agreed Gray.

"Good, let her have the experience as i did. You, blonde head! You're going in and taking her heart, make sure she likes you and you, blondie chick, you're going to come in and take the guy suddenly and you know....look like he's cheating and stuff." explained Ash.

Did he call me blondie chick? That is not my name! I told him my name, did i? And why do i have to work with STING.

DURING JOB

The plan was currently in progres. Sting was making a good combat as the girl was clearly interested in him. All of us hid behind bushes, including Ash. He nudged me and whispered in my ear telling me to go. So i did.

I walked passed Sting, hoping he would get the jist. He caught on and stopped talking to the girl, before staring at me as i walked past. I 'accidentally' bumped into him, somehow, and he looked shocked....pretend.

"Oh umm, sorry." i said, trying to look cute. He blushed, for real.

"No uh, it's my bad." he said, as he held my hands and stared into my eyes. I was beginning to feel the heat radiating from the girl who i forgot was there. Ash whispered to us, miraculously without the girl hearing to kiss.

Kiss.

Kiss.

Sting began leaning in, forgeting it was to be pretend. I couldn't take it. It doesn't matter whether it was pretend or not, this was real. My lips came into contact with Sting's, before he held me tighter and we started having a make-out session.

It felt good, nice.

We pulled apart, and i was flustered. I couldn't even focus!

"You! How dare you!" exclaimed the girl, who, again, i forgot was there. She stepped up to Sting who was surprised and gave him a hard whack across the face. Strangely, my focus came back and my eyes narrowed.

I stepped up the her and held her shirt.

"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing hitting him?" i seethed. She looked taken aback. I pushed her down before glaring at her. I was about to use my celestial magic and summon a celestial weapon so i can beat her ass when Sting grabbed my hand from reaching my belt.

I looked around quickly before he leaned in again and kissed me. I was surprised, but my hormones were going wild and my vision was going crazy. My legs felt numb, and then Sting lifted me.

"Mission accomplished." he said, before walking towards the group.

"That was fantastic! I feel better now, so much better, i guess i should thank you." said Ash. I was still a bit tipsy, so i just stayed where i was.

During the entire time that we spoke with his sister and receiving the money, Sting held me. If he didn't, i would be struggling to stand. We left the mansion.

"We're off quite far from each of our respective guilds. We should stay a night at a nearby inn." informed Erza. Sabertooth agreed and..well, we had too.

We were put into rooms, of course, two per room. But Erza somehow wanted a boy and boy to be together and girl and girl. Any left outs would have their own room. I was with Yukino.

In the lobby, I told Sting to put me down and he complied. After i was set on my feet, my heart was still racing from the mind crushing kiss earlier. Forget it. This shouldn't be happening.

Yukino and I entered our room, and she immediately collapsed onto her bed. I laughed before changing my clothes.

"You know, that second kiss was not part of the plan." she giggled. I pulled of my shirt before turning towards here.

"It's not my fault." i huffed. I was struggling to pull down a new shirt when the door opened. Yukino burst into fits of laughter and i turned around to see Sting staring at me.

"GET OUT!" I yelled, as i kicked the door closed. I heard him sigh before it opened again. He twirled me around and pulled my shirt down for me.

"Come with me." he said, as he pulled me out. I looked at Yukino for help but she just lay there laughing.

I walked out with Sting, who slowed down and strolled with me in the inn's garden. It was quite pretty, if must say.

"We're going to talk, right here, right now." i demanded, as i pulled my hand away. Sting rubbed at the back of his neck.

"Yeahhh i was going to do that too...." he said.

"Look, you should stay away. I want nothing to do with you because you're a mess." i said angrily.

"Wait, Lucy. If i....prove myself right, will you still be with me tonight?" he asked desperately, before a smile broke out onto his face, "Heey that ryhmed."

I shook my head with his idiocy.

"I guess so. But you're wrong." i said.

"But i was thinking about it, and.....i think someone was controlling me." he said. I thought about it. I didn't say anything. Hmm, what would it take for me to have a lie detector?

I looked at his face, and surely i didn't see the face of a cheater, a lier. Misaki said that Sting looked wierd, and i witnessed it for myself. If i put the pieces together, maybe someone was controlling him for real!

But....what if he was mistaken? I'm not entirely sure. I wish i could see in his head. But then i'll only see an empty head but still....

"Lucy? Are you still there?" echoed a voice. I snapped out of it and looked at Sting, who was directly in front of the moonlight.

What if i focus on his delicate face? I wish my spirits could help me. As soon as i thought that, voices floated in my head from my various spirits.

Lucy, i believe he is right.

Ebi, trust him.

Lucy-san~~ I love you but maybe you should listen to him.

Pun Pun!

They all said that he was probably right. I looked back at him.

"Sting, i...........i don't know if i should-----"

"I love you!" he blurted out, as he sniffed. Aww, so sweet. Wait! Back to the issue at hand.

"My spirits are saying that you probably are right. But i'm not sure." i said," I love you but what you did was unforgiveable. You're saying that someone was controlling you."

"Lucy....." he said. He sighed before pulling out a shiny metal. It shone in the moonlight but it blinded me. As my eyes adjusted again, i feared the worst.

I saw Sting holding a knife, and it looked like he was committing suicide. I gasped before i ran up to him and held his hand. I broke his grip and threw the knife on the floor, before slamming my lips onto his.
