Chapter 19: Our mistake together; Part 2

LUCY'S POV

"What the fuck is this?!"

Levy was startled by my sudden outburst and at what she saw. Never in a million years did i think that something like this could happen. And Sting....someone who i trusted ruined me and my life.

He was kissing Misaki.

I was furious. Something in me wanted to cry and another wanted me to murder Sting.

"Eucliffe!" i yelled, as i stalked up to him breaking my arm connection with Levy. She followed behind. Sting turned, upon hearing his name before i walked up and gave him the hardest slap i could ever give.

His startled expression caught me, but angry tears rolled down my face. I turned around swiftly before running off. His voice echoed, calling me back along with Levy and Misaki, but i never turned back.

It's his fault.

I never should have trusted him.

He made me believe that he was different.

And now, i am lost.

I ran back to the guild, hoping to see Gray. Unfortunately, when i entered, Erza and Mira saw me crying and knew that Sting caused it. They began to have a strange aura surrounded them.

"Luce! Hey you okay?" worried Gray, as he hugged me. I shook my head, as i couldn't stop crying.

"Let's take her home. We should all go." said Mira. I didn't want to move, so Gray had to lift me up. Erza called Natsu and Wendy to come with us.

Luckily, we all went to my apartment without any trouble. I was placed on my bed. I rolled over and covered my head with the sheets. I wasn't sad anymore, i was angry.

"Lucy....feel better!" cried Happy.

"What am i supposed to do now? I'm going to murder him!" i said furiously.

"Why don't---"

There was a knock on the door. I feared that it was Sting, so Erza went to check.

"It's Levy." she said, and i came out from under the sheets. I stared into the familiar eyes of my bookworm friend.

"Lu-chan! I was looking all over for you! You just left!" she exclaimed.

"What, you expect me to stay?" i asked.

"Well....it's not what you think, Lu-chan." she said. I sat up. Everyone else sat around us, curious as to why someone like Levy would say that.

"What do you mean?" i asked.

"Sting-kun told me that he saw you earlier with a guy and he was upset, so he went to see Misaki and then.....i don't know, i guess they talked and something happened because he said that next thing he knew, he was kissing her." she explained. I laughed.

"Of course, Sting had to tell you that. He did it on purpose!" i replied.

"It sounds like he did it willfully, if that's even a word." said Erza.

"Lu-chan, i believe him. It's not his fault." said Levy. I got more upset. Levy, my best friend, would dare say such words?

"Why would you ever side with him?! You saw, didn't you?! So what from his explanation did you get!" i exclaimed, as she backed away.

"Well i don't know. There's just.....something. I'm really sorry Lu-chan."she said, as she sniffed. I sighed as my temper cooled.

"Look, why don't you guys stay tonight? And Levy-chan, i promise that i won't make an outburst on you again." i said. She laughed.

STING'S POV

I made a mistake. One that i regretted. I....didn't know why, i just did it! It's not like i told myself to do it, all i remember is talking to Misaki and then realising that we were kissing and Lucy slapping the life out of me!

"Sting....i think you lied to me. She was your girlfriend, wasn't she?" asked Misaki.

"Huh? Well.....yeah. I don't know why i lied, it just came out! Misaki, think there's something wrong with me." i said scared.

"You wouldn't just grab anyone and kiss them, because i know you. Is your head okay? Because you don't think of me that way and certainly, you ruined your relationship with her." she explained.

"I'm done for. I made a promise with her and i broke it......i didn't mean it! I was talking to you and then i found myself in this situation! I never even remembered grabbing you!" i said nervously, sad tears coming out and i wailed my hands everywhere.

"You should talk to her about it then! I'm sure she would understand!" she said, trying to cheer me up.

"No, it's not like that! She hated guys before because one betrayed her and look what i've done! I promised her that i would never be like that...and.....and! Grrr." i said.

"It doesn't hurt to try." she said. I sighed before agreeing and racing to Blondie's house....well apartment. It came into view and i flew straight inside, ran up the stairs and waited in front as i was out of breathe.

Before i had a chance to knock, the door opened and out came Erza and Mira. Shit.

"Sting! Nice meeting you here!" said Erza, a fake smile on her face.

"Yes, what are you here for, might i ask?" asked Mira.

"Look guys, please i need to speak to Lucy." i begged. Their faces turned upset.

"I don't think so, you've hurt her enough." said a masculine voice and Gray came out. He folded his hands.

"It was a mistake! I didn't mean to---"

"What do you mean by that? You clearly did it of your own will, didn't you?"

"I.....it's not what you think. Misaki didn't force me, i just.....we were talking and then i found myself kissing her! I don't know how! She was surprised as well, but i never remembered taking a hold of her and kissing her!" i exclaimed, desperation clear in my voice.

I need help. I need someone who understands.

"Guys, please go inside." said Lucy, who came out and forcefully pushed her team inside. Hope grew inside me for a split second, but diminished when i saw her water-stained face.

"What, what do you want? To ruin me?" she asked, as she faced me.

"No Lucy i would never do such a thing! Just please....you have to listen to me. It's not what you think." i cried. She took in a deep breath.

"It's hard enough for me now. I can't deal with it. What do you mean it's not what i think? It's clear that you cheated on me!" she exclaimed.

"Lucy! Please, just listen. Please...."

"Okay...fine."

"Look, we were talking, that's it. And then i was just kissing her! I don't know how it happened, and she didn't do it, neither did i!" i explained.

"Don't give me that nonsense! Besides, you called me a friend earlier! Am i......am i really just a friend?" she asked, as she begged for an answer. Now this, this is what i'm afraid of. I didn't mean to say it, it just came out.

"Lucy you're more than a friend to me. You're my girlfriend, the girl i love!"

"So.....why didn't you tell her that? Just a simple sentence, that's it! I looked like a fool!" she scolded, her eyes getting angrier by the second. No Lucy, you don't understand. I don't understand.

"Please, i can't give you an explanation for all this. But you're not really going to leave me.....are you?" i asked.

"......What do you think?"

"Lucy please no! I need you!"

"I'm sorry Sting, but you broke your promise. And....there's no way i'm turning back now. You've made a mess of my life. I...guess we're done." she said. That's it. She said it. Those words were enough to tear me apart.

My eyes widened in perfect horror, as i stared at the girl i love the most. I'm done. I can't live anymore if she's not with me. What's the purpose of my life? Was it really.....my fault?

"Blondie.....i....i'm so sorry." i weeped, as i knelt down and covered my face with my hands.

"I'm sorry too, but this is the price you pay. You broke my heart, with someone whom you just met again." she said softly.

"Then.....can i die?" i asked.

"Why would you do that?"

"There's no point in living life if you're not there. That's the only way i'm happy, without you, i'm better off dying." i sniffed. I got up and i turned my back towards her.

"This is it. We're done." she said.

"Yeah......i wish i could do more. I'm sorry." i said, as i walked away.

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Sting walked away, defeat in his eyes, pain evident in his aura. He has no more reason to live....he's suicidal. Lucy went back inside, passed her friends and immediately shuts herself in the bathroom.

It was clear that she was crying, her sobs were heard and it echoed against the walls.

"Do you think she'll be okay?" asked Gray.

"I don't think so. And Sting, think of how hard it must be for him." said Natsu.

"Like you're one to talk. You did the same thing." said Charle, as she shook her little cat ears.

"Lucy found love again. That bastard just had to ruin everything, didn't he?" said Erza.

"No, but...somehow, i kind of believe him." said Wendy, and Levy nodded.

"What do you mean?" asked Mira.

"You know Sting. Would he really do such a thing? And to Lucy? You saw how much he loves her, right? You saw it in his eyes, the way he watched Lucy, the way he acted around her, he's different. Don't you think it's a little....strange that this happened to him?" explained Wendy.

Her explanation did make sense to everyone. They sat in silence, while they digested every word. What if Wendy's right? And who is at fault? Is it Sting? Lucy? Or both? In fact....is it someone else?

Sting entered his guild, a place he hadn't been in such a long time. Questionable remarks were thrown in his direction. Normally, Sting would jump at them and beat them up, but Sting wasn't up for it. He ignored them and paced his way to his office.

Inside, he sat down and sighed. He buried his face in his hands. The door open and three familiar faces poked their heads in.

"Hey, you don't look well." said Rogue.

"Fro thinks so too!"

"What's wrong?" asked Lector.

"Lucy.....Lucy broke up with me....." sniffed Sting, as he realized that he was on the verge of crying again. Rogue stared in shock.

Lucy? How could she do such a thing?

"Why would she do that? Doesn't she knows how much you love her?" exclaimed Rogue.

"No, you don't get it. It's my fault. Remember Misaki? I saw her and i told her that Lucy was a friend by accident, and later on, Lucy came and she saw me kissing Misaki." he said.

"What?! Sting are you stupid?!" exclaimed Rogue, as he was confused.

"I don't know! I don't remember kissing her! All i remember is talking to her, then finding myself connected by the lips and Lucy slapping me! I don't remember shit about even making a progress by getting closer!" yelled Sting, who was clearly furious with himself.

"So, you don't know what happened?" said Lector.

"No, nothing." replied Sting.

Lucy sat on the bathroom floor, her back against the wall. What was she goind to do? Sting is gone, and he made her happy again. She was positive that she would be traumatized around guys, heck, she's afraid that she'll push Gray away!

"Hey Luce? Are you coming outside?" asked Natsu from behind the door.

Lucy tensed up, but then relaxed. It was only Natsu, and she did get closer to him since Sting came and made her forget about hating guys.

"Um...yeah." she replied.

She got up, and went outside much to the relief of the rest of the group. Would she ever find happiness again?

And whose fault is it?

Next Chapter: I am alone without you

Preview: Sting and Lucy go about their normal way of life, trying as much as they can to forget about each other. But then again, do they really want to forget? How dependant are they on each other? And one question lingers in both of their minds; Whose fault is it?
