Jumping right into it, recently I just realized this:

ZANE~CHAN IS THE OVER EXAGGERATED VERSION OF AARMAU!

How you may ask? Well, dear viewer, that is what I'm here to tell you.

First off, Aphmau is a very unique character. She is kind, sweet, loves sweets, and for the most part happy-go-lucky. Then you take Kawaii~Chan. An over exaggerated-ness of happiness, kindness, LOVES SWEETS, just straight up sweet, and always chipper. Aphmau also LOVES cats so much, and Kawaii~Chan does too- to a point where she IS PART CAT!
Might I add that they both ship people? But Kawaii~Chan has always taken it to an extreme level.
And let's talk about color for a second. Aphmau loves purple, and a common color associated with purple is pink, and Aphmau usually wears purple in the forms of magentas, a sister of pink. Kawaii~Chan also wears dark pinks for the most part, making her color a sister of purple.

Kawaii~Chan is Aphmau on an over exaggerated scale? I'd say so.

But let's look at Aaron and Zane.
Aaron always has this eerie feel to him, mysterious, a bit of a loner at first. He doesn't seem to have a soft spot for first impressions. Zane on the other hand is A FREAKING EMO NUGGET! I mean, emo's are usually VERY mysterious (check!), a bit of a loner or outsider (check!), eerie and feels like he doesn't really belong at first (also check!), and REALLY despises the idea of him having a soft spot (GIMME A BIG OL CHECK THERE!!!).
And might I say, Aaron has the ability to fight, not afraid to really get in trouble (at like the beginning of PDH). Zane is pleading to get into trouble. A more exaggerated characteristic, WOULDN'T YA SAY? As both characters develop, the audience (and their love interests) find BOTH of their soft spots, and they aren't what you would initially expect.
Next let's talk about color again. Aaron's main color is red. I mean, the jacket... The wolf eyes... The bandana. It's safe to say the dude likes red. Zane obviously loves blue. I mean, look at dem eyes! Joking aside, it's black. Straight up black. Black is usually associated with red when talking in rebellious and loner types of people. Am I wrong? Well, JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE SHADOW KNIGHT ARMOR IN MCD! I MEAN, COME ON! Both colors are commonly paired with each other! And Aaron is usually a DARKER RED. CLOSE TO BLACK.
Bam. Colors. Done.
(Actually forgot to mention Aaron's eye color have changed in the Emerald season as well as Zane's. Just a thing I forgot~~~)

But I'm not stopping there. What about the relationships?

At the beginning, I believe we all can say Aphmau and Aaron HATED EACH OTHER. Aphmau then was forced over and over again to be with Aaron, like becoming Alpha female and having to sit next to him. Slowly, they grew to each other and all that crap after all this time of knowing each other online.
This is the same for Zane and Kawaii~Chan. They both despised each other's opposing personalities. But slowly after Aphmau pushing Zane to meet new people and FORCING THEM TOGETHER AT SOME POINTS LIKE THE TIME THEY SLID DOWN THE FREAKING WATER SLIDE AT LOVE LOVE PARADISE!!!!!!-! AHAHAHHAHAHHA!!!

*inhale*

*exhale*

Okay. I'm good.

And might I add, just like Aaron and Aphmau knew each other before their whole shabang happened, Zane knew Kawaii~Chan from high school, however didn't really get to know her, JUST LIKE FRICKEN AARON AND APH-

OKAY I REALLY NEED TO CHILL.

But do you get what I'm saying? There are parallels here and I'm putting the common factors together.

I'm not sure Aphmau was particularly heading in this direction, but it IS possible.
