|| Chapter 2 || Hi, I'm Drishti

That day day Lavanya's wedding functions were to begin. Today was the mehndi ceremony and the entire hotel was in chaos. It was booked by the groom's side so that their wedding functions would be held side by side and there was no need of a rush.

Her groom was Shekhar Shergill, an old friend of Drishti who was not known to the name of the groom.

"Yar meri bat sun. Agar meri mehndi gandi lagi to inhe paise nahi dene" She whispered to Lavanya.

"Same" Samara replied.

"Agar aisa ho sake to han" Lavanya nodded in agreement.

"Befkoof" The complement came from Lavanya's mother who had been sitting in front of them and listening to their complaints since the morning. "Tum sbko taiyar nahi hona?"

"Oh shit!" They exclaimed and rushed to a common room to get ready.

"Drishti! Meri chunni phek!" Lavanya extended her hand to grab her dupatta from Drishti.

"Samara, tikka kaha hai meri?" Drishti yelled.

"Lavanya Meri churian!" Samara cried.

It took them a whole hour to get ready. The fault was theirs, they hadn't even taken out their accessories or their makeup.

"Drishti ja bhag k ladke valo ki side se shagun ki mehndi la" It was a custom followed by Shergills where the groom's mother would make mehndi for the bride.

"Do minute mein ai" saying this she rushed out of the room and went towards the groom's side looking for her friend's mother in law.

The only problem was that she didn't know how she looked.

"Shabash!" She appreciated herself in frustration and ran around like madly to find someone who could guide her.

Just as she was running in the corridor her back crashed into a guy's back so she turned to apologize. "Oh god sorry"

Holding her ears she waited for the man to turn and when he turned her mouth was wide open. In front of her stood the same guy from yestarday that was ruling her thoughts since yestarday.

"Hi! I'm Drishti"

"Its okay" he replied casually before leaving the place.

"Ajeeb admi hai. Kal to bht muskura raha tha. Aj itna saru kyu lag raha hai" she watched his back while he was leaving and remembered why she was here. "Shit! Mehndi!"

Since there was no one who could help her, he was her last option. Thinking of it as fate's cruel game, she ran after him and yelled "Its okay vale admi ruko!!!!"

He felt weird when he heard that, and more than weird, he felt annoyed. Still he turned and saw Drishti huffing while sitting on the floor and holding the side of her stomach.

"Mama kehte hain ki exercise kia kar but nahi!" She exclaimed.

"Kya chahea tumhe?" He asked her.

"Are! Pani ke lea to pucho, ya phir khada hone ke lea hath do. Sympathy nahi hai kya?" He extended his hand to help her stand and pulled her up properly without clashing their bodies together though.

"Sharbat na manga ke dun tumhe?"

"Manga lo" she shrugged her shoulders but seeing him turn offendedly she pulled him back "Acha sorry. Vo mein ladke valo ki or se mehndi lene ai thi aunty se"

"Mein kya tumhe aunty lgta hun?" Honestly he had tried joking this time but Drishti thought he was being rude.

"Gussa kyu kar rahe ho. Mein to bs help mangne ai thi" setting her dupatta on her shoulder properly, she turned her hopeful eyes towards him.

"Meine gussa? Kher chodo. Mom vaha garden mein hain"

"Acha to tum ho Lavanya ke pati!" Her left hand smashed her right one in a sign of understanding and nodded properly.

"Kya? Pagal ho kya? Soch ke bola karo. Meri nahi mere bhai ki shadi hai" he told her.

"Oh! Tumhara bhai! Kon hai vo?" He slapped his forehead and realized there was no point arguing with her.

"Green color ki saree pehni hai meri mom ne. Ab excuse me" as he was about to leave Drishti caught his hand to stop him. He faced her with his best face of annoyance and asked her what now.

"Mujhe sapna thodi ane vala hai tumhari mom kaisi dikhti hai. Mujhe leke chalo na! Please" she pouted in request and pulled his sleeves.

"Ok fine!" Holding her hand in his, he lead her into the garden where his mom was stirring the bowl of haldi. "Vo rahi. Chalo"

Both of them were seen by Mahima and Shekhar and to them the scene appeared to be something else. He was walking in front of Drishti still holding her hand like one holds of a child and Drishti holding her lehngha in one hand while following Rakshit like a lost child.

Just as they arrived under a decoration that was being organized, the man arranging the flowers accidentally dropped the rose petals on them, the basket still in his hands.

They stopped and looked at the man simultaneously. Drishti smiled seeing the petals and raised her hand to catch some. Rakshit glared at the poor man and pulled Drishti away when he saw her enjoying it rather than hurrying because she was already late.

"Kya kar rahi ho Drishti. Tumhe mom ke pas jana tha" He held her arms from the back and pushed her forward trying to get her attention off the flowers.

"Oh han" he giggled and let him walk with her arm in his hand. "Oh, vo hai tumhara bhai?" She pointed at Shekhar.

"Ungli neche karo. Kya kar rahi ho. Aise kisi ki or ungli nahi krte" he pulled her finger down and caught it in his hand.

As they reached where Shekhar and Mahima were standing, she smiled and shook hands with Shekhar. "Kya hal hai Shekhar?"

"Mein badia. Yar tu suna. Tune to bulana hi chod dia"

"Ho! Meine calls ki thi tumne nahi uthai phir meine dobara phone nahi kia" Shekhar looked apologetically at her and mouthed a sorry.

Drishti turned towards Mahima and guessed she was his mom. Touching her feet she asked her general questions like how she was etc etc.

"Tumhe jldi nahi thi?"

"Rakshit! Beta ye koi tarika hai kisko bech mein katne ka" Mahima said to Rakshit.

Drishti looked at him with a smile. She knew his name now.

"Mom isne kaha tha ki isko jldi hai. Ye yaha mehndi lene ai thi. Kyu Drishti?"

"Oh shit! Mehndi!" She exclaimed and looked at Mahima in a pathetic state. Mahima understood her gesture and handed her the bowl in her hand.

"Thank you!" She smiled and ran away.

The three of them watched her run and about to trip at some point before leaning on a wall for support due to the recent tripping.

"Oh God. Ye ladki gir ke rahegi. Mein abhi aya" Rakshit went towards Drishti and helped her stand properly while holding the bowl himself.

"Ye ladki kon thi Shekhar" Mahima asked Shekhar

"Meri purani classmate" Shekhar smiled.

Mahima and Shekhar looked at them and something cooked in their minds. Sharing the same mentality they looked at each other and hi fived.

The thing not mentioned about Drishti was that she was a sucker for romantics so for her, it was a romantic gesture from nature's side telling her that he was the one for her. So the smallest encouragement and she would be chasing after Rakshit for an attempt to make it work.
