Dawn Evans

I set my alarm for noon and when it went off I was already awake. I sat on my phone, scrolling through my Instagram feed before it was time for me to get ready.

There was a gathering taking place at six o'clock today, only twenty minutes away from where I was staying and Gregory Hanes was sure to be there. But there was a problem-

Invite only.

The risky, but the easiest way to get in was to flirt my way in. I didn't like to do things the hard way, so I was willing to take my chances.

I got up and took a long shower before drying off until I was only damp. I moisturized my body and then pulled out the outfit that I planned to wear to the gathering.

I slipped on my panties before sliding into a black maxi slit skirt and a spaghetti-strap crop top.

It was only about one o'clock and I was already dressed. To pass time, I went down the short flight of stairs and sat at my laptop. I clicked on Clover's new contact and waited for the FaceTime button to turn blue, but it never did. I now understood how she could afford a new phone.

Afterward, I FaceTimed Royal. When he answered I was met with the ceiling of his car. "Yo." He said, which was unusual.

"Shouldn't you be at school?" I asked.

He picked up his phone before putting it into his phone mount so that I was now looking at his face. "Shouldn't you?" He said sarcastically.

"Whatever," I said rolling my eyes.

He noticed because he began chuckling before he finally said, "Wassup?" asking why I called him.

"I dunno, I'm bored- I can't just call my friend?" I asked jokingly.

"Since when was the last time you called me just to call me?" It was silent before he continued, "See, you always want something." He started laughing uncontrollably as if it were that funny.

"Shut up," I said rolling my eyes for the umpteenth time since I've been on FaceTime with Royal.

He was still slightly laughing a bit and I had to change the subject, "Where are you going?" I asked.

His face dropped instantly, "Honestly, I don't know- just driving." he said.

"Why?" I asked.

He shrugged his shoulders before he made a sharp turn. "I went to school for a bit.." he paused. "Then I left and now I don't know what I'm doing."

"Why did you leave?"

He shrugged his shoulders again. This irritated me because when I asked questions, I wanted answers.

"Why did you leave school?" I persisted.

"Dawn, I don't fucking know!" He yelled before honking his horn aggressively, "BITCH, GO! YOU SAT AT A GREEN LIGHT FOR FOUR FUCKING MINUTES! You colorblind or sum shit?", afterward he put up the finger at the car in front of him, I suppose.

What the hell is his problem?

"Royal?" I called.

"Dawn." He said, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Why did you leave school?" I continued. At this point, I found his anger amusing. I was asking him simple questions and he was giving me difficult answers.

Thankfully, he realized who he was talking to because he sighed before saying calmly, "Dawn, I don't know."

That's more like it.

I laughed in my head as I muttered quietly to myself.

"Huh?" Royal said.

"Nothing." I sighed.

"Where you all dressed up to go?" He asked as he examined the small portion of my outfit.

I glared at him. He knew why I was dressed up, there was only one reason that I would be dressed up. I'm here for business.

As soon as I began talking I heard a ding come from my laptop, signaling that somebody texted me. I read a small portion of the text from my laptop because that was the only part that appeared. "Royal, don't hang up. I gotta go get my phone real quick." I said as I ran up the stairs where I saw my phone sitting on the nightstand where I left it.

I took my phone off the charger aggressively as I grabbed it and ran back down the stairs toward my laptop without looking at the message.

"I'm back," I said as I sat at the desk and unlocked my phone.

Unknown:

"Yo, it's Antonio"

Me:

"hey."

Maybe: Antonio:

"Mission?"

He asked me, in hopes that I'd finally open up to him and tell him about top-secret information.

Me:

"you already know the answer to that."

Maybe: Antonio:

"FaceTime later?"

Me:

"bet."

____

"Who got you cheesing?" Royal blurted out. For a second I almost forgot that he existed.

"Nobody," I said smirking before I looked at him and saw him side eying me.

"Yeah, ight," He chuckled.

We talked for a few more hours and about unimportant things.

When we finally said our goodbyes, it was about five twenty-five in the evening. I hopped up and went upstairs to put on my black lace-up heels. When I finally got them on, I put on my jewelry and grabbed a black clutch.

Afterward, I rushed to the G-wagon and hopped in the driver's seat before slowly driving to my destination.

I'd done this many times, but for some reason, I had a bad feeling about this mission.

When I finally pulled up to the gathering, it was going on six o'clock. I looked at the place that I'd just arrived to before immediately checking the GPS to see if I was at the right location. It was a club and there was a long line that stretched around the corner.

This is what these people call a gathering?

This brought back memories of when Royal invited me to his thanksgiving "gathering". He told me that only a few of his family members were coming. When I got there, it was what felt like a hundred people already there and all of the food was practically gone.

I asked Royal, "What happened to 'a few family members', huh?"

He responded by saying, "This is a few. Some of my cousins and my aunties and uncles." At the time, I was flabbergasted that there were people in this world who were blessed enough with this much family. It almost seemed impossible, but then I realized that not every family is as fucked up as mine.

When I looked back up at the club, I spotted Gregory Hanes about to go in using a VIP pass, surpassing all of the people who've probably been waiting in that line for hours.

I wasn't waiting at the back of any line, so I got out of the truck and ran up to Hanes 'accidentally' dropping my purse in front of him.

"I'm so sorry!" I said as I bent down to pick up the purse before he gestured for me to stand back up.

"Allow me." He said as he picked up the purse and held it out for me to grab from his hands. He looked at me, his blue eyes glistening in the light.

When I was researching Gregory Hanes, I noticed that he's had five wives in about three years. He was in his mid-fifties and all of his wives were in their twenties. So, it didn't take much to figure how I'd kill him.

I'd just be another whore that he picked up off the streets, go home with him, maybe do some things, and kill him.

Simple.

"Thank you, sir." I said grabbing my purse from his hands.

He chuckled before saying, "Please, call me Gregory."

Ugh. That was an odd name. 'Please call me Gregory!' Who the fuck named this guy?

"I'm not that old!" He continued jokingly, as he chuckled some more.

I laughed at his "joke", boosting his ego.

"Thank you, Gregory." I said forcing a slight smile.

He didn't even acknowledge my gratitude this time. Instead he looked up and down at me and said, "You going in?"

I nodded my head and he faced the bouncer before he said, "She's with me," and then pulled out his VIP pass once more to show the bouncer.

The easy plan, is always executed perfectly.

When we got inside he directed me to the bar before he waved down the bartender. Once the bartender walked up to us Gregory said "Old fashion, anything for you-" he paused as he realized I was nameless to him.

"Jamie," I lied before continuing, "Tequila on the rocks, please."

The bartender nodded and began getting our drinks, "So, we've got a partier on our hands?" Gregory said, smiling.

I forced a smile, yet again. When the bartender brought out our drinks, I only took sips of it. I didn't want to get off task. "Oh, come on. You can do better than that." He said, referring to the little amounts that I was drinking.

Who the hell is this guy?

I held the cup up to my mouth and drowned the rest of my drink. Gregory raved, "Thats what I'm talking about! Can we get her another one." He said to the bartender.

The bartender nodded and I internally sighed. Gregory drank his drink as I gulped down another one of mine.

A hour had passed and I'd only had a couple more drinks. I wasn't drunk, but I felt a bit tipsy. I didn't need anymore to drink, I had to stay focused.

I leaned my head on Gregory's shoulder as I seductively rubbed his chest, "Wanna get out of here?" I asked smiling.

He looked down at me before smirking and saying, "I thought you'd never ask."

I got the impression that he was used to girls begging to fuck him and I was surprised by this because he wasn't very attractive. But I guess money talks.

He grabbed my hand and led me out of the club. "My hotel is only a block away," He said.

Damn! He pre-booked a hotel room? He just knew he was getting some tonight.

I laughed in my head as I followed him to his car. When we got in, he sped down the street only driving for what it felt like, twenty seconds before he parked in the parking lot.

We got out of the car and swiftly made our way to his hotel room. He locked the door behind me and quite instantly, he began feeling me up.
