Chapter 2
It had been a few days since the night Clay told Hannah he'd always be there for her. And he ment what he said. When Hannah had finally decided to tell Clay about what Bryce did, he practically lost it. It took a few minutes for Hannah to calm him back down from wanting to kill Bryce.
Clay still wasn't happy about what Bryce did, and he wanted to confront him about it. But he also wanted the guy who raped his best friend to be where he belongs, behind bars. Clay knew that Hannah wanted that too, but he also knew that it was extremely hard for her to talk about it openly.
It was a Saturday afternoon, and Clay decided to pay Bryce a visit. He was determined to give Bryce what he deserved, so he planned on getting Bryce to admit to what he did, while unknowingly being recorded.
Clay's plan didn't end how he expected. Granted, he did expect Bryce to act out, but it still shocked him slightly. After their little talk, Bryce left the room, leaving a beaten and bruised Clay lying there, bleeding.
The next day, Sunday, Clay spotted Hannah walking out of her paret's pharmacy when he saw something fall. He quickly went to see what it was, wanting to be polite and return the object. Clay stopped in his tracks when he picked up the small box, realizing that it was a box of razors. Clay was confused as to why Hannah needed razors, when suddenly something clicked in his mind.
Clay raced down the street to his best friend's house as quickly as he could. He didn't care about anything else in that moment. Clay quickened his pace as he saw the familiar house come into view.
Not wasting any time after finding the front door unlocked, Clay ran inside, calling his friend's name throughout the house. When he found no one downstairs, he ran up the stairs, immidiately picking up on the sound of running water. "No, no no no no no!" He mumbled quickly to himself as he ran towards the closed bathroom door. Clay quickly pushed the door open, finding it unlocked as well. What he saw made him stop in panic. Clay rushed forward towards the slowly dying girl. He noticed the quick rise and fall of her chest, along with the dazed look in her eyes as she slowly turned to look at him apologetically. "I'm sorry." She whispered almost inaudibly. "Hannah!" Clay exclaimed, moving quickly as he gently put his arms around her, carefully yet quickly pulling her out of the tub and into his arms. He then ripped to strands from his shirt, tightly securing them over her bleeding wrists to help stop the bleeding. After he did that, he quickly grabbed his phone, dialing 911.
After what seemed like an eternity, sounds of sirens approaching could be heard. "Don't worry, Hannah. It'll be ok." He whispered to the broken girl in his arms as he heard the sound of footsteps getting closer. "Everything will be ok." He whispered, more to himself than to Hannah as the paramedics reached the bathroom.
He watched as they hurried to get Hannah in the ambulance outside, letting him in as well before rushing off to the hospital.
