Chapter 60
If it was any one else I would have cooed and wowed but seeing it was my sister who was on the verge of possibly getting a red blotch of skin on her neck made me drop the bowl. And I definitely dropped something, not bowl but my brand new phone.
Emily and Taehyung arrived at about six in the evening at our place. Seokjin and I insisted on them staying for the night but they were adamant to leave at night saying night drives are their 'thing'.
Seokjin and I resorted to ordering restaurant food while both of them freshened up after their long day. I was about to call them to tell food has arrived when I walked onto both of them having a heated moment.
Taehyung's head was dipped onto her neck while she held tightly onto his hair. No matter how hard I tried, the memory was etched onto my brain.
Hearing the noise they both broke apart, breathing heavily. Their red and swollen lips were proof enough that a long make out session had led to the current position.
I found myself getting heated although it was nothing compared to theirs. I cleared my throat as if I didn't witness anything, "Guys time for dinner." I left, not forgetting to wink at my blushing sister. She's getting her man and I ain't blocking them, atleast not again.
They followed me back downstairs and I saw Seokjin looking at me puzzled probably noticing all our awkward faces and I signalled him 'later'.
With the table filled with chicken, noodles, and fried rice all our concentration diverted to it, everything else forgotten. We were so engrossed in eating we hardly talked.
After a few spoonfuls I managed to ask Ema about the things mom gave especially the big album. "That must have took up most of your luggage space."
"Sure it did. I had to leave my favourite snacks to hold the album in."
"Why did she give it?"
"She said she made another copy just for us kids and the original is still with her. We should check it out sometimes, probably when we are alone."
I nodded along, since there must be a lot of embarassing photos from our not so good age. And a lot of memories that I prefer lay forgotten.
"Then we should definitely see it together." Tae said with a smile that could never possibly make us say no.
"That face is not gonna work on me anymore." Ema said, deadpan.
-
"That is me. Aren't I cute?" Ema pointed at a baby photo of her's. Well our plan of not showing them didn't work. So now we were all sprawled on the bed going through the album.
"You are still." Tae smiled holding her hand which was beside his.
"Next page." Jin stated and he himself turned it since neither of them even heard him.
Eventually we all got back to screening through it and as we looked the times I cherished that later turned to my fears appeared.
"I have seen some of them in Liz's phone. That is your friend right?" He asked. I didn't think he would be able to remember them at all.
"Yeah, he was." Emily's voice was gentle but dull compared to how she sounded before. They all noticed it but didn't think it was the time to prod for more details. So we continued without mentioning any more about that.
They stayed for an hour more then left promising to hang out soon with the whole gang with the new addition of Nate.
We both were heading back to our rooms when I got an unexpected call from dad. I haven't spoken to him in a while but he did make attempts to make up for the lost times. I give points to the old man for that.
"Hey dad."
"Hey, how are you feeling now?" Something I have always wanted to hear from him, those words. He's been asking me that a lot lately.
"I'm fine dad. And how's everything there?"
"Yeah we are fine too. And how's he?"
"Who?" There's no way he was thinking of Jin.
"You know, Seokjin." He sounded hesitant but I was shocked that he would even think about him and his care. He really is trying.
"Yeah he is good too dad. He just headed to his room."
"Good. I heard you got the job." He changed the topic but I was still hooked that he asked about Jin. Now that they all know about me and Jin and how we loved each other especially after the hospital, there was no going back for them. I think they are all starting to welcome him too. Not that it was hard considering his charms which has now started to rub on my dad too.
"Yes. Today was the first day. I tried to call but I guess you had a meeting."
"It was with the Clemence's. And we've got a deal with them."
"That's great." I said.
"So tell me about your first day?"
And like that we talked for a few more minutes. It felt good to finally have my father's presence in my life in a positive way. All this time I couldn't bring myself to erase the bad memories I had of him in my mind. But now I think I can try.
I was on my way to my room and stopped in front of Jin's. I told myself it was time to tell him. No more excuses to myself, if I need him in my life then he has to know everything about me.
I knocked on the door before entering. He was on his bed leaning onto the headboard with a book in his hand.
"Hey, come here." He beckoned me to the bed and I joined him right away sneaking under the heavy blankets. He closed his book and turned to me snaking his hands around my waist looking at me with his loving gaze.
"Don't look at me like that." I blushed. This is going to be hard if he's going to intimidate me with his looks.
"Why not?"
"Then I won't be able to tell you about Lucas." And he understood what it meant, his face flipped serious and attentive but he turned to look at the ceiling, his hand still resting on my waist.
